  1. :drinks:What do my Fellow Forum Members want for Xmas ? Mine is listed below :

Xmas wish list: Dear Santa I have been good ( I never shot anyone while hey were landing a broken bird in OFF ) So Please may I have P-4 and Pam Anderson  along with Eva Green for Xmas. or Sara Brightman.

P.S. Please dont be late with P-4. :this:

  2. I have come to the conclusion that I am going to need about 3 lifetimes to engage in all the WW1 hobbies I would like to get into!

OFF, reading, research, scale models, RC flying...maybe build my own damn plane!

Guess in one of those 3 lives I had better stay single...

    Right On, Duke

  3. Doing some reading (in fact reference the modeling thread here) and again I see mention of wingstruts being covered in cloth on some WW1 aircraft - specially in this case a SE/5.

Why cover struts in cloth in "real life" ™?

The only thing I could think of is protection from the elements but I wonder at the utility of that versus paint or varnish.

Do the struts get Cold ?

  4. :dntknw: I know in OFF we fly in a lot of bad Weather, But did the Pilots in WWI ? For Example, I have ran into a lot of Rain, Heavy Cloud, and Snow Missions. So I wonder in all that Mud and Muck ( poor Visibility) How did they do it ? :salute:
  5. Olham: I got it to play its a Fokker Tri motor. On an historical note, There was a Tri Motor ( Ford I think) that used to fly every 3 months or so out of the local Airport, ( It was rumored to have been used for weekend flights for by a Mile High Club back in the 1950 s) Sadly, The Aircraft caught a gust of wind on take off back in 2009 and went end over end, No one was killed but the A/c was just broken bits Kinda like the one in the Vid
