creature replied to jack33's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
If we stop showing interest in opening up SF, it'll never happen. Don't give up:)) It's been a while since I posted anything here. That doesn't mean I don't keep an eye on you clowns:)) Nice to read some of your posts. Hope all is well with everyone. creature -

File Name: F9F-5UP.rar File Submitter: creature File Submitted: 26 May 2010 File Updated: 29 May 2010 File Category: US Navy Aircraft fixed tail hook and aircraft can now land and stop on a carrier There has been a little confusion about the designers of this aircraft. I in no-way claim to have built this aircraft, just enjoyed tweaking it. I included a readme.txt in the download that states this! Just to be clear the original designers that made a delightful aircraft: by Pasko, Column5 (FM and avionics) Skins by Pasko, Gramps, Major Lee and Marcfighters Click here to download this file

Muesli: The file I uploaded includes the original readme.txt plus my own readme that gives the credit to original designers. I will try to edit my upload to give them credit on the download page itself so there is no confusion. Creature -

Wrench: Did you apply the fix for the F9F-5P? If not I can upload that. Also I can't figure out how to get the nose wheel to turn in the correct direction when taxing on the ground. (if you could taxi in the air, I'd be impressed:)). Creature -

Hey Wrench: I remember that, but I thought there was a problem with landing on carriers. Son of Gun, I looked all over for that. Wasn't there still a problem with the hook snagging the wires on the carrier? creature -
Spungie>._) I spent five minutes looking at this thinking what the hell does he need to carry a bride across 3 acres for. Bride, bridge, brand and, stop standing on your head and typing:))))))) Try amusemant parks and zoo's seriously they always have some kind of bridge to walk over and they might have better ideas creature

TK/Single Players: WOW!! Before I say something that is going to stir the pot to say the least: Is Multiplayer in the future for SF2? I think we all know where Doghouse and I stand on this. Creature -
Hey People: As usual I was flying around on my various sims and I realized that there is no SR-71 for WOX. So I'm putting out my request. I realize there will be a bit of a Horizontal distance problem with the maps, but it would still be fun to get up to FL850:) Later Creature

SR-71 Blackbird
creature replied to creature's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
OK Boys and Girls: Getting off topic a little bit ya think? All I wanted was an SR-71:))) Creature -
NOO NOOOO.:))) I've been waiting for a better carrier sim for a long time, and I've been watching the progress of JT. I understand your constraints all to well, but a better carrier sim is despetately needed in the "combat" flght sim world. Creature

Jug, That's funny, but they were looking from the inside out:)) Ask them what they would've thought if they could have flown that thing 50 ft off the deck right through Hanoi:)))) I think personally that would scared the poop out of everyone and ended the war:))))))) c -
SR-71 Blackbird
creature replied to creature's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Spark: I guess it's just a matter of choice:) I for one have flown the snot out of the F9F panther. Mainly because of the attention to detail that was put into it, and I don't think the panther is a very popular plane. At least not as popular as the Blackbird. I posted this only a few hours ago, and already it has over a 100 hits. Trust me, if I could build it myself I would!!! I just put this out there hoping someone else who has the ability to build one, knows that there are other people interested. One of the unique things about the WOX crew is that their attention to detail in the performance, dimensions, cockpits, skins, etc... are historically accurate. I'm not gonna beat a dead horse, but I wanted to stir the pot a little to see if others were interested, and so far I think they are:)) -
SR-71 Blackbird

Lex: That's pretty sharp that you picked that up about the stars. The Apollo missions reminded me of another sim that may have an SR-71 add-on. The last thing any of us need is another sim to get addicted to but here is the Link. http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/orbit.html It's called Orbiter Space Flight Simulator. and it's Free!!! The modders and designers over there are extremely similar to the WOX people, high attention to detail and very passionate except they deal with space. I wouldn't be suprised to find out that there are a few of the WOX crew work along with the Orbiter gang. -
SR-71 Blackbird
creature replied to creature's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
EXACTLY!! Out running SAMS, and seeing Orions Belt at mid afternoon is all in the future, but for now, with all the exceptionally talented and detailed aircraft designers that WOX has created, It would be a blast to fly. I've flown it in X-Plane and FS and it is nothing compared to the intense detail that the WOV designers are capable of. C -

Lex: Yup, I know what a lab is. I was referring to my WOV terrain:)) If someone were to make the SR-71 it would be fun to cross vietnam in 20 minutes!! Maybe we could crack that imaginary boundry around the edges and wind up in China. LOLOL It's nice to see someone trying to make a bigger world for WOX. Storm says the novelty might fade. Maybe, but it would be fun to find out. c -

decal.ini jacked up with Oct08 patch
creature posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hey guys: I'm falling asleep at my keyboard here. I loaded the Oct08 patch and half of my add-on aircraft are missing decals. I had to do a little editing in the Decal.ini file. here is what I did. this is from the F9F-5. [Decal004] MeshName=Fuselage DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=vf112\vf112 -------> originaly worked fine before the sept/oct08 patch Position=-2.9,0.50 Rotation=-2.0 Scale=1.8 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal004] MeshName=Fuselage DecalLevel=0 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=F9F-5\vf112\vf112 ------>I had to add F9F-5 in order for it to work. Position=-2.9,0.50 Rotation=-2.0 Scale=1.8 DecalMaxLOD=3 that was just one decal. there has to be an easier way. Some of my other addonn aircraft have lost there numbering capability. i.e. Like on the nose 200, 201, 202 etc. The number sets are still there, but they don't show up. or if they do, they all have the same number. I have to manualy change it in the load out screen. Last Thing. Anyone know how to add a numbering package to an aircraft? And how in the world do you change the color of the number. I can't find the file that "filenameformat" line is pointing to. see below. this is an example from the A4F [Decal026] MeshName=Nose DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=USMCNum ------Where is this file??? and how can I change the color??? Position=6.03,-0.18 Scale=0.70 DecalMaxLOD=2 When I finaly figure this out, I will upload the F9F-5/F9F-P by Pasko, Gramps, Major Lee and Marcfighters with a fuel tank fix, weapons fix. and above all the darn tail hook:)) Creature
