Mig-27 Guards Regt

A little editing to match the Mig-27 loading screen I use (downloaded here at combat.ace, but included in the pack) for an elite strike regiment skin. Soviet yellow numbers (stock reworked) and Guards badge complete the pack and are in generic decals folder, usefull, I think, for other mods. To install: unzip the pack in main mod folder of SF-2. The Mig-21M (modernizeerovannyy) was the export version of the Mig-21S (Sapfeer-21 radar), the first fighter of the third generation Mig-21s. Both NATO nickname was Fishbed-J, the engine was the Soyuz R11F2S-300. It differed from the domestic version in two important respects: the downgraded (simplified) avionics and the built-in GSh-23L gun. The Mig-21MF (modernizeerovannyy forseerovannyy), the export version of the Mig-21SM (S-modernizeerovannyy), all named Fishbed-J too, had the more powerfull engine Soyuz R13-300, the rear view periscope and two blast deflectors below the blow-in doors. The Mig-21M was exported in East Germany (87), Poland (36), Czechoslovakia (24), Romania (60), Yugoslavia (25), Bulgaria (15), Syria (12), Egypt (12) and India. The IAF had 65 Soviet-built Mig-21M (izdeliye 96) were called in India Mig-21MF, but the Indian-built Type-88 (izdeliye 96F) , very similar to soviet Mig-21MF, was called Mig-21M , that caused some misunderstandings ….. There was’nt in TW/TK simulations. So I started from the Mig-21MF and removed the periscope and the blast deflectors, changed the engine stats (data taken from previous Mig-21S mod), made some other editings (performances and weapons) took some stock MF skins (Soviet, Syrian and Eaf), made new ones and historical known serial numbers. I was not able to remove periscope from inside the cockpit, if someone could , do it please for me. Because some Mig-21M were “retrofitted” with periscope and blast plates, I'll include in the pack a dedicated retrofitted data.ini. You have only to change it with the stock one. In this way the plane is identical in shape to later Mig-21MF. Take a preview look, please ... and more The new skins included: 1) LSK Silver & Camo with historical serial numbers (made on Souli’s original work as usual) and “Q” quality marks on appropriate planes; 2) PWL Silver with historical serial numbers; 3) Yugo Silver with historical serial numbers; 4) IAF Silver & Camo with known historical serial numbers (I'm looking for all IAF serials ..... if You have something, please help). 5) CVL Silver with historical serial numbers; Romania decals and silver skin is the next job. I'ld thank everyone has posted here for his interest. A special thank, as usual, to Soulfreak, who helped and supported me everytime and everyway. I'm just a beginner and I never could make hundreds of different LSK skins (...), but I'll do the best I can with this little mod (Mig-21M). Everyone, who could do better than me, will be invited to upgrade it, because, I think, we share our passion for old jets .... and so our works. "Migs forever", too. Paolo -

I have some LSK Insignas in the decal sheet You send ... but I don't like very much panting them on the planes. (Numbers never at all ...) In fact, I think that our sim' decals system is the best. I'll try it. Paul -

hey Paulo, if you need more references on LSK MiG-21´s let me know. I have a lot and will get in the next days some more! btw, nice work... Everything will be welcome. I like Migs. Thank you Souli Paolo My friends and me had Mig-21MA and Mig-21R as WIPs. But they are grounded for this time. Czechoslovak MA (removed periscope, cannon deflectors too) MA is M version just with added "A". Later updated to MF standard (both versions were WIPs) Mig-21R without cannon and deflectors... Old projects, but no progress as I said. Our MA was planned as Czechoslovak MA, so no colision with your M I think. Good luck Migs forever Migs forever, too. I only made some decals for a generic silver CVL skin, that should be a placeholder waiting your Czech dedicated mod. Thanks. Paul -

MiG-23 MS Lybian Camo

Maybe it's brand new .... just arrived from URSS flyng throught Italy, whith several couples of F-104s that have followed it from Alpes to Sicily (this is history! It happened several times when I was in Grosseto AB for my military duty at 4° Stormo) without the time for gaing the authorization to shot it down *. No, ....... really ............ I'm not able in wheatering ...... yet. So, if someone (Who said SoulfreaK?) would like to wheater it (like all my previous works) I'll very proud of it. Ciao e grazie. -

You are right: If you set the mission timeline after 1977 You will have the solid green roundel. Before they had the arab insigna like in the screenshot and in the picture included in the pack. Let's try. This time I used only stock decals .... Thanks. Paul -

paulopanz replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Sir, the cockpit upgrades are very good (as usual for Your works), but for the Mig-15bis you missed to do this: [RangeCounter] Type=RANGE_INDICATOR CounterNodeFormat=distance_dig%Remd <--------- change this to: distance_dig%d MovementType=ANALOG_COUNTER ValueUnit=NM Like I and Suhsjake discovered upgrading to SF-2 standard old Pasko's Mig-15bis models (see topic). Super Mystere B2 EC 2/5 Ile de France skin
paulopanz replied to Eole's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - File Announcements
Your skins are so nice that I installed (with some troubles) Ericgen's Super Mystere in SF-2 EU ..... So I was wondering about their possible conversion on TW stock Super Mystere, that it's a very good model, too, but as Mysteres, Mirages, F-84s and F-104s AI planes (but flyables in a snap ..) are all whitout decals, except insignas ...... What do you think about that? The templates are here at Combat Ace ... Paolo -
WOE 1964
paulopanz posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Hi there, I'm working on a 1964 campaign with historical orders of battles. Why 1964? Because it was a transition year from old jets to new F-104G and MiG-21F. Now with outstanding Veltro's F-102A the plane list is full up! I plan to include: USAF,RAF,LUFWAFFE, FRENCH, DUTCH and DANISH air forces from the NATO side, and VVS, LSK, POLISH, CZECHOSLOVAKIAN air forces on the other side. You'll fly every squadron from every side. The work is going on well, but I lack some data, and I ask it to you all to help me. I need good, detailed orders of battle of these nations' airforces: -FRANCE -POLAND -CZECHOSLOVAKIA If you could send those data, I'll be able to finish my campaign. Come on French, Polish and Czech (and sure all others in the world ....) friends, help me! Thank you all. Ciao Paolo -

Yes, please do it. I only made some silver skins (DDR, CZ, PL, NVIET, CHINA,HUNGARY, SOVIET) and new decal numbers for the stock new SPF-2 Mig-17PF, that fly very well with your cockpit made for the old mod. Now we lack only a true Mig-19P/PM .... Paul -

I could say only few things now, but: 1. Super Mysteres, Mysteres, Mirages and F-84F F-104s are very good and made flyable in a snap, but they haven't decals .... 2. Mig-21bis has new, own .lod files 3. Mig-21MF etc. have several brand new grey/camo skins for Czch, Poland and DDR 4. Mig-23 line is quite full of variants, with new grey(!!)/camo skins Paul -
