Sukhoi Su-9 "Fishpot-B" - DLC AI planes pack 2 -
paulopanz posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: Sukhoi Su-9 "Fishpot-B" - DLC AI planes pack 2 - File Submitter: paulopanz File Submitted: 20 August 2013 File Category: Su-9 The Su-9 emerged from aerodynamic studies by TsAGI, the Soviet aerodynamic center, during the Korean War, which devised several optimum aerodynamic configurations for jet fighters. The design first flew in 1956 as the T-405 prototype. The Su-9 was developed at the same time as the Su-7 'Fitter', and both were first seen by the West at the Tushino Aviation Day on 24 June 1956, where the Su-9 was dubbed Fitter-B. It entered service in 1959. Total production of the Su-9 was about 1,100 aircraft. It is believed that at least some Su-9s were upgraded to Su-11 'Fishpot-C' form. None were exported to any of the USSR's client states nor to the Warsaw Pact nations. Remaining Su-9s and later Su-11s were retired during the 1970s. Some were retained as test vehicles or converted to remote-piloted vehicles for use as unmanned aerial vehicles. It was replaced by the upgraded Su-11 and the much-superior Su-15 'Flagon' and MiG-25 'Foxbat'. What's in: - a new flyable plane - great Stary's cockpit built in - 6 simple (but all I found) skins includind famous 179 IAP one - specific sound - pilot - animated canopy - screens Credits: - plane Tk [DLC AI planes pack 2] - cockpit Stary (readme included) - sound Spillone104 - Skins/decals/edits paulopanz Install: - put all in main mod folder and overwrite Note: Su-9.ini is flagged as only reading (sola lettura) to avoid patching rewriting, so the plane will be flyable until you'll not change files property, maybe to add further skins. By the way a recovery copy is included. This is for Stary the "pitmaker". Enjoy Pavel Osipovich Panz Click here to download this file -
SF2 not working
paulopanz replied to hrc's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
maybe try this: 1. rename mod folder (es StrikeFighters2.bak) 2. the program will generate a new vanilla StrikeFighters2 folder 3. if it works now copy from that new folder its options.ini and copy it in StrikeFighters2.bak overwriting the previous one 4. delete StrikeFighters2 folder and rename StrikeFighters2.bak to StrikeFighters2 5. run the game again I don't know if this could work with your issue ... but it saved my mod install several times ..... I hope it could be useful. -

SF2 WW2/Post-War Lockheed P-38L Lightning
paulopanz replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Kevin, this is a very good idea! May I suggest to You to upgrade to actual SF-2 standard the original Spitwulf skins here http://combatace.com/files/category/179-p-38/ to complete the postwar P-38L collection? .... sometimes we have a real gold mine in older SF-1 uploads to re-discover. -

In order to provide an urgent counter to the air incursions, with Saudi towns close to the border being bombed by Egyptian aircraft, an additional interim contract, called "Magic Carpet", was placed in March 1966 for the supply of six ex-RAF Lightnings (four F.2s and two T.4 trainers, redesignated F.52 and T.54 respectively), six Hawker Hunters, two air defence radars and a number of Thunderbird surface-to-air missiles. The "Magic Carpet" Lightnings were delivered to Saudi Arabia in July 1966, with an additional F.52 being delivered in May 1967 to replace a Lightning lost in an accident. Lightning F.52 Slightly modified ex-RAF F.2 single-seat fighters for export to Saudi Arabia (5 converted - 4 in service). Lightning F.53, otherwise known as the Export Lightning, developed as a private venture by BAC; while the Lighning had originated as an interception aircraft, this version was to have a multirole capability for quickly interchanging between interception, reconnaissance, and ground-attack duties. The F.53 was based on the F.6 airframe and avionics, including the large ventral fuel tank, cambered wing and overwing pylons for drop tanks of the F.6, but incorporated an additional pair of hardpoints under the outer wing. These hardpoints could be fitted with pylons for air-to-ground ordnance, including two 1,000 lb (450 kg) bombs or four SNEB rocket pods each carrying 18 68 mm rockets. A gun pack carrying two ADEN cannon and 120 rounds each could replace the forward part of the ventral fuel tank.[20][nb 1] Alternative, interchangeable packs in the forward fuselage carried two Firestreak missiles, two Red Top missiles, twin retractable launchers for 44× 2-inch rockets, or a reconnaissance pod fitted with five 70 mm Type 360 Vinten cameras. MiG-17F "Fresco-C"
paulopanz replied to paulopanz's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
It seems You can haven't overwrited Mig17F.ini file and You're using a previous (yours) protected (only reading) one, Please take a try use that You have in the pack or right click on it and check out only reading (I don't know the exact words as I use an italian win 7) option. Be sure to have patched your SF-2 (which one you use?) as the last skins are in JPG format. -
Su-34 Skins
paulopanz replied to WINGSOVERISRAEL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
David, these skins are wonderful! To enjoy them I had to rename each skin in "SU-34" convert in JPEG (I don't know why bmp format doesn't work ...) and make 5 new skin folders with proper texture.ini, decals.ini and needed tga files ..... Maybe not all the people here at CA is able to rebuild your work, so it could be better if you could upload a ready to use skin pack .... Only a hint: is better don't paint numbers on textures but adding them as decals so we can have several different planes togheter ...... If you need some help please call. Again compliments: a real great work, mate! -
