Nice tips uncleal, I love the sneaky route too. I dont use TAC 90% of the time but for this I clicked it on and they were like 7K up and out some distance. They dove straight down once I started climbing and I realized I had been outfoxed. It also led me to wonder how the AI planes can can withstand the 10G's in a straight dive from 5K up?

Nice report, sounds like you gave them a sound lashing with the SPAD stick. That feeling of helplessness when a plane can continue to dive and then climb away is terrible (in sims anyway).

I wouldn't worry about that smell. Almost every pc I have had smells like that after running a graphic intensive application. If you have a Bestbuy in your area they may have a suitable power supply for you too. The one near me has some surprisingly powerful ones. My newest pilot is flying for J11 in 3/1917. I had my first fight against these FE2b's and man are they tough! I put tons of rounds into two that I was circling with and they kept on flying. To make matters worse, that rear gunner was peppering my plane ever chance he got. I managed to shoot both down but crash landed in no mans land, was captured, but escaped after 20 days! Guess I better try to hit these from underneath, but the way they turn its like fighting a tripe!

I think you should try an early Jasta flying the EIII. With all the fokker fodder around you can get alot of kills without running into Ace flights every other day. Plus once you get the nuances of the EIII down you will find it is a blast to dogfight in.

Definitely enough for me. The only setting I have tweaked since installing the game was the rear gunner accuracy. I found them to be snipers even when inverted! Now it is much better.

Nice post and I fully agree. Flying for RNAS8 right now and shot down a German ace from Jasta 11, Constantin Krefft. Really much more interesting when you get to shoot one down then go read the bio in the ace dossiers. If you dont love history and respect men that REALLY lived this, you cannot fully enjoy the game. (my opinion)

Nice report. I had my best pilot career flying the EIII and only died because of a freak collision with a wingman. Once the bitterness is gone I shall return!

Really feel like a moron when I realized I meant the F2B not the FE2. Engaged a flight of the FE2 and they did keep it straight and level, though the rear gunner certainly doesnt sleep. Hope I didnt get anyones hopes up!

I was just curious as I have been damaged and had to land behind enemy lines 3 times with this pilot and all 3 times I have escaped back to my unit. I am playing DiD 120% Is it a run of extremely good luck, or is anyone else having similar results? Cheers!

As you stated luck goes both ways. My engine quit over British lines and had to drift in from about 5000ft. Thought I timed it but I rolled left trying to set down, thats all she wrote.

Shot this poor bugger to bits from underneath and the pilots decided to leap out rather than burn. Caught this screen see if you can locate both pilots! S! to the brave Strutter crew.

Just found this thread and realized I had posted almost the same thing this morning! I am going to try lowering rear gunner accuracy too, they seem to shred me if if inverted!

Buggers damaged me enough that I had to crash land a second time. Next time I see a flight of these hornets we are going around! Thankfully luck is holding out and escaped back to homebase two times, on DiD that is the best luck I have had yet.

These ones did anything but fly straight and level. They were dogfighting my whole squadron and fought to the bitter end, very impressive. If they had bad AI before as you say, then it is most definitely fixed.

I just started flying for Esc.26 in July 1917. I was flying my second mission and we had some Alb.DIII's circling high overhead. They had the lozenge pattern on the wings and the fuselage was natural wood or golden color. One of them had the letters "KF" in bright red on the side just rear of the cockpit. We never engaged as they flew away and I wish I had taken a screen shot. Can any of our resident Ace experts/skinners ID who was stalking me? (thought it might be fun)

Corpse grinder, I played another game at some point where you were on a forum. Possibly, Red Orchestra? This will drive me nuts :p I played most shooters as Pugilist, or Totenkopf if it rings a bell.

I didnt see the Jasta or any other info then the markings Olham, thats why the mystery intrigued me :) So I had a brush with another German ace and lived, phew!

Yes that would be conflict city inside that computer I would think.

Welcome to OFF bud. I have had similar problems with games that were caused by graphics drivers. Are you running a recent version of driver and if so have you tried a rollback? I wonder if it could be a RAM or vid card memory problem too where it is crashing trying to load the graphics? I would also try very low resolution and graphics settings, if that works slowly tweak up until you hit the sweet spot. Hope that helps a bit, let us know what happens.

I think there have been quite a few posts lately where people have hardware conflicts, and dont attempt trying to change settings to fix their issues. In addition to posts that say "Fix this!" when they are the only ones who find issue with it. There has also been posts with positive input for tweaking the patch and the game. I dont think addressing the useless posts for what they are is a "fanboy" thing.

Why fly a sim like this if you want an "easy button"?
