  1. Well, actually I did not EXPECT to retain my campaign after updating to Feb 2010. But what I find strange is that after "re-applying" my mod-folder as before, I still have my xxx.SAV-campaign files - they just do not get "recognized/uploaded" by the game... No worries still. When starting a new campaign now, I received the same xxx.SAV-campaign files. Now what might be the difference between both that the old ones cannot be "read" anymore? ...Just to help me understand this...... Thanks
  2. On my SF2V I just renamed my mod-folder before updating to Feb 2010, ran the game once (to create a new "naked" mod-folder to save as a back up) and simply put my old mod-folder back in place... Worked well, except for a few cockpit-positions needed to get readjusted and my campaign-data of before were no longer selectable in the game.
  3. Oh, THAT sounds promising! I'll shoot in that direction first (and report back if it does NOT do the trick)... Thanks for your very fast reply.
  4. Guess this won't work with the much "fatter" SF2V-Expansion Pack-mods, unfortunately! revisiting: Eric sais that renaming the mod-folder before applying the patch an later re-renaming it SHOULD work...
  5. My original idea was to rename the mod-folder, apply the TW-Feb-patch, run the game once and "overwrite" the newly created mod-folder with the modded one from before. Can you tell if this works, or will there be some "new data" overwritten with the mods? ...In THAT case I would need to re-apply the XP plus its updates (the "fool-proof-solution)... Phew. I wanted to save me that work until your announcement, that you updated the XP another time. Guess I'll need to go the extra mile and re-apply all again........
  6. It should - as it's included in the Expansion Pack... (and it's AWESOME!) Limitations are the "trees poking through the clouds" with the Dec 2009-patch, and the workaround to make them trees "transparent" (unfortunately).
  7. The one with the coastline... The "tree issue" persists...
  8. What game are you running? Where did you get that late VF-84-scheme from? The game (and the Expansion Pack - correct me if I'm wrong) does only have the earlier tail with the black "flag" on it, unfortunately...
  9. That answers my most urgent question - unfortunately not the answer I was hoping for....
  10. Before I consider my latter notice a "glitch", let me ask a question first (btw: I'm running "SF2V Dec 2009" with the "Expansion Pack Gold Feb 2010 Refresh"): - how is it on your installations, do you always have a moon shining at night or does it come up after a while only (if at all) and/or going down during your night missions? 'Cause yesterday I started a mission (it was some 2300hrs I think) and until it's end (some 30 or 40 minutes later) the moon didn't come up... (I was having a strong/good shadow on the aircraft and inside the cockpit though. So are the shadows irrespective of a source of light?) This jumped my eye, because when seeing the moon on night missions before, I found it just sooo good looking. And then I saw some strange reflection (of the moon!? at least from it's direction/the direction shadows on the plane were cast from) on the sea below - see screenie. You can see some light's reflection shaped as an inverted "V" over the water (like it should be with the moon up) plus, at its focal point, another V-shaped one (so "upside down")... More strange is, that the focal point obviously is below the horizon = in the water! This looks weird. Anybody has an explanation for that? Is that a glitch or does it "have to be" like that? Is it of the "standard" game or XP2-related? Thanks for your comments. Oliver PS: I made it home with my wounded bird, but as a safe landing was out of reach my BN and me had to eject in the vicinity of the carrier and were picked up by an angel.....
  11. You serious about that stellar calculations? That's awesome.... Yeah, and I think the night-sky is a bit too light - not that much to worry about, but you mean, one can adjust this in the environmentalsystem.ini oneself? @ Fubar: is that a shot of your SF2's sky? Now THAT's a good black - mine is a lot more blueish. Can you forward me your environmental.ini-values, please? Still, where's the moon in my pic and what causes the reflections on the water? What do you mean by "horizontal"? Horizontal ("level") in relation to my plane? No sir, I'm flying above the clouds, in my shot the horizon is seen above the clouds - no moon same level with me, none above me, no clouds obscuring one... So, where IS IT??? And what causes the reflections on the water? And why double reflections? (The lower "inverted V" should be there - if there was a moon - but what's the upper "V"???) Re: my bird - yeah, enemy was not delighted of me trying to suppress their defense! It was big effort to get it out of left turns and keep it level - so there was no way of taking it back down onto the carrier's deck....... Thanks for all your response, but I'm not yet "there"..... Please keep them coming...
  12. He is addressed to this already - we "just" have to wait until he comes up with a solution......
  13. That's the standard WoV-screen for creating single missions? Looks cool......
  14. In my SF2V I experienced same... All relatively "un-dark" - but that way you can still see/watch your plane externally at night, though (maybe THAT was the rationale behind it). When selecting a mission at dusk, you can well see the light fade away; the mission just starts before sunset...
  15. Can('t) it be seen as a tinted screen? At least from the screenie it appears like one... How about reflections?
  16. After a little research in the KB, I found that loading-pictures (the one on the screen, as long as the game takes loading with the %-bar at the bottom) can easily be added/customized by adding a (i.e.) F-104_Loading.bmp and designating the loading-screen to that picture. I found some nice pics on the Internet, resized them to 1024x768 pixel and off it went. The pics only appear a bit stretched - so would more than 768 in height might be of benefit? Then (after thinking again) shouldn't (much smaller) .jpg's work just as well as the large -bmp's do? Anyone with more knowledge than me? Then I figured that with the SF2V Expansion Pack several planes have a designation for a custom loading.jpg (.jpg!), but there just is no picture in the aircraft-file... Interesting......
  17. Kevin (guess YOU are the very right person to address this to ) - still a few questions: - can I put ALL my xy_Loading.bmp's (or .jpg's - seems to work as well, as Raden describes!?) into the /Flight-folder and the pic will be picked from there as soon as the "LoadingScreen=xy_Loading.bmp" has been designated in the aircraft .INI? Or do they NEED to be put into every aircraft's folder? - any addt'l input about the picture's size? I found 1024x768 in the KB - but this results in a mildly widened view... Might 750 pixels in height be better? Thanks again
  18. Oh dear... Right yesterday it took me an hour to apply the Feb2010..... Hum, I guess/hope apllying the Refresh over the Feb will do the trick, right? Then I just need to see/verify that none of my other "non XPGold-additions" (a few skins, custom loading-pics and some small tweaks) get affected........ But - of course! - again a big thanks for even improving the great package again! (And as always, as soon as you put all that into some "platinum version" eventually I will go through all that once and again... )
  19. Thanks - just downloaded and looking forward to applying it onto a fresh environment... And a big thank you for supplying the how-to for changing tracer-colors, too.
  20. Flying Red

Luiz Carlos or Paolopanz, answers/comments to my post #21, maybe??? (Hopefully... )
  21. Alot of work? Twenty clicks at a max - all that to get a "cleaner" looking drop-down... But this may not be of as much value to everybody as it is for me... And, as said: it's easy to perform yourself/myself - so I absolutely don't bother if Eric or you don't see enough value in that. Fully okay with me.
