  1. I once experienced that lack of (audible) comms, too (subtitles were there). Was in a Linebacker II-Campaign-mission with F-4J VFA-333... Aborting that mission and Refly set everything okay again, so I didn't worry too much... Haven't experienced those display-problems in F-4-cockipts, you write about, though. (Hope it stays like that.)
  2. Well, my Russian is "a little rusted" (to say the least), but I guess you are referring to the same Russian "Error-Page" I ended up, following the linkie...... Btw, the little PopUp in the Starting Screen's upper left corner doesn't hold too much additional value after a while - is it possible to remove it? Just keep the little script from appearing? And/or from what I read in the TW-forum, that HDR-function can be switched on/off with "Ctrl/F12" (or so) in FSX. Aside from that I cannot come up with a good reason why one would want to switch it off in-game, is that a possibility in SF2 also? (THEN - I guess - the little script's appearing would be good to know wether HDR is running or not...) Maybe you can say something on that, too...
  3. So, simply patching the tiles over the Gold doesn't do the trick... Okay, I'll wait for the next XP-terrain-update then. Thanks again.
  4. Can Pappa Goat's repainted tiles (they really look cool!) be applied directly over the SF2V XP2Gold? Seeing your outstanding work, I guess you will implement that in an upcoming terrain-update, anyhow, right...?
  5. Yeah, that would be great! And thanks for the "step by step-guide". Especially as I thought, all these adjustments would need to be made in the .INI's. So, I'll dive into the NVIDIA control panel (just need to translate your expressions into German to find them in NVIDIA - but that should be manageable). So thanks once again. (Btw, as said: AA works quite well with my above settings - but I'll try to see if there's even more....... )
  6. In SF2V I have all the sliders in the options maxed out and HDR 1.01A running. The manual says that some graphics still might not get shown 100% as i.e. the shaders might not support that (like water details). Two questions: - what (aside from water details) might get affected? What could I check to see/verify? - does the HDR turn down some maxed settings in order to improve the framerate (sorry, I haven't yet full info on what exactly HDR does...)
  7. Cool, great to hear there are no sacrifices... Thanks!
  8. ...After flying a couple of missions in the dark, I saw all the NV-airfields in full lighting - full beaconing with bells and whistles... This looks impressive - but I guess in comparison to reality that's a bit over the top....... Anyone to convince me that they might really have looked like that at night? Anyhow, the package is THAT awesome, this thing not even drags - it just got obvious...
  9. Hum, guess I still need to climb the learning curve... Will you please help me? What's the Q you refer to? Do you have to put "16xQ" after "AllowAntialias" in the enbseries? Here is what I understand from your explanation: - NVIDIA control panel set to "override" (say: not let the 3D decide, but turn on "quality" at all times) - in the Options.INI AA set to "0" - in the enbseries "AllowAntialias=16" (or "16xQ"?) - in the enbseries Anisotropic filter to "16" (what does THAT mean/do?) Did I get you right? Then, yesterday I found out that after applying HDR (copying the .dll into the "C:.../StrikeFighters"-folder and the enbseries into /Flight) and running the game, there now is another enbseries in /Menu. Guess the one in /Menu was created by the system/game "itself", right? Because I am quite sure it wasn't there before... Here's what I have now - and is quite good (I just want to see "if maybe there's more" - that's why I'm such a pain on this... ): - in the Options.INI I have entered "AntiAliasing=16" - then these are the AA settings for the both enbseries: the one in /Flight has "AllowAntialias=0" and the one in /Menu "AllowAntialias=1" At last: the little "PopUp" in the upper left in the Main Sceen refers to some "Documentation" and/or "Handbook" (for the enbseries?). There was no such coming with the HDR-mod. Where can I find one in the net? Maybe I would understand much better if I would read that one... Thank you for all your help
  10. That info should be good enough for me to start with (although I have to downsize it a little to allow for my "weaker" rig). Override in NVIDIA panel is self-explanatory, but what exactly do you mean by "your settings AA16 / 16q on the other setting"? From a previous post I understand that in "options" you run AntiAliasing "0" - so you have the "16" in "AllowAntialias" in the "enbseries"? Thanks for clarifying. Oliver
  11. Hey wow - installing went flawlessly and the result is AMAZING! (Only when entering the AAA-defended area I experienced some slowdowns - but this is as before... I might try the alternative Flak-effects coming with the Expansion Pack.) So, I can confirm that HDR runs on notebooks as well (you can see my system's specs in a post above). Just to give it the finishing touches: what's your best recommendation for the AA-settings? As said before I have (and kept) the AA setting in the "Options"-folder at "8" and left all the files coming with the HDR as they were ("AllowAntialias=0" in Flight/enbseries.ini). The result is very pleasing (just some minor steps)... What do YOU run?
  12. Interesting - seems I get the best results with a high setting (8)... Keep testing... Btw, Falcon: by telling to drop the "d3d9.dll" into the "main SF2 directory" I guess you mean to put it into the C: where the game itself (not the mods) is located, right? I'll give that one a try - let's see, if my system is "high end" enough...
  13. I just checked the "Options" - yes, "AntiAliasing" setting is "0". Adjusting to "8" works wonders... I'll keep playing with that value (and might try installing the HDR as well). Thanks again, everybody!
  14. Yeah, I found the one for my NVIDIA (1.01A of Sep 25) - still I wonder if my system (HP Notebook with Dual Core 2.5GHz T9300, 2MB RAM, 512 MB NVIDIA 8600M GS) is high end enough. Falcons warning: "This mod is intended for high end computers and high end video cards starting with 8800GTX and forward on. If you install this with a low end computer, don't go crying about it because I warned you." (1.00 though) made me think twice... I just downloaded it and try to find sth. in the readme.......
  15. Ah - I see... And can find it in the Downloads - just for SF1 only. Anybody knows if it works with the SF2-series, too? edit: I just saw that it also works for the SF2. Furthermore this doesn't cure my "general" problem with the AA, or will I have to live without a good AA, as long as I don't add HDR!?
  16. No (or at least: not that I know of) - I am running SF2V with "only" the Air and Ground War Expansion Pack 2.0 and a few aircraft skins added. I am not fully aware if the HDR is something Eric and Co have been using for the Expansion Pack.
  17. Okay, I'll take a look into my /Options - and if I can find some "enbseries" somewhere... (Never heard about...)
  18. Can you please specify what exactly I should check/change. What's the "enb series"? Mange tak.
  19. So what version did you update to? 186 or 195? I checked on the NVIDIA-page again - both should be working with my 8600M GS... So why don't I see any improvement? I can hardly believe that "this is the best it goes"... (Hey, and this really bites: I didn't worry TOO much about this, until I learnt that it CAN be improved. Now I DO want to get this improvement too......)
  20. Okay, I will check out both versions of the Neptune. But I guess will drop the P in the end to stay with your approach. And I think I will just apply the 7z anew eventually to keep the files as small as possible without giving away any quality..... Thanks again for your outstanding work!
  21. Ah, so if I update my rar I am getting both Neptunes (P-2 and SP-2), whereas with the 7z I am getting the SP "only". (Was the P not used or why did you drop it?) Okay, that sounds plausible... And simply deleting the P-2H from the /Aircraft would bring both versions even again, I guess?
  22. Hum, yesterday evening I updated the driver to the 195-version, too. But I don't see ANY difference! Checking the card's properties show the new driver IS installed and system working - still I see the same "steps" on the plane's lines... Any more input maybe? (I had such high hope and then that... How disappointing.) edit: I don't assume reverting to the 186-version would be of any benefit, as Biggus saw it (the 195?) working so good... Right?
  23. Hi Eric, yesterday I applied the Update to my Gold. I also applied the Update to the extract of the Gold (before adding it "To The Mod-Folder"). When comparing the updated extract of the .zip with the extracted .7z I stumbled over the fact that the 7z-version is some 60 files / 10MB "leaner" than the older version. Why is that? I don't think the 7z would be missing anything, but do you have an explanation? Thanks Oliver
  24. Ah - okay; I already figured it would be somewhere in there... Thanks.
  25. And WHERE do you find the flightengine?
