  1. @ Blade: yup, cool - but I'd prefer the even older liveries (with the large insignia over the chevron-band)... I will certainly find sth. suitable... (This would be great if it were VF-84 - I like the choppy waters; looks like chilly North Atlantic sea.) @ Stary: hum, your post sounded somewhat negative as what to find in there........
  2. Hum, what exactly DO you expect...?
  3. Cool - I'll give it a try (although I am aware of all mods most certainly being smashed by hopefully soon released patches)... Oh, btw: I DO already/still have a set of your pilot's helmets (at least the ones I'm fond of)...
  4. Yeah, thanks Wrench - I also have the squadrons (with their colorful tails) but VF-111 would need sharkmouth too, VF-114 lacks the orange stripe around forward cockpit (like VF-84's black/yellow chevron-band), VF-1 doesn't have the wolf's head and red stripe below the cockpit.... Things/details like that... Hum, just stumbled ober Baltika's Iceland Terrain - does/would that go with NA? Sounds like a great start.... And SARCASM colors appear to add great realistic light to North Atlantic (from what can be seen in the Screenshots-area)...
  5. Yup, this runs fairly well (focus on quality of aircraft - the rest turned down somewhat): AntiAliasing=4 ForceDX9=FALSE ForceVSyncOff=FALSE LensFlare=0 DetailLevel=4 ObjectDetail=2 ObjectTexture=3 CockpitTexture=2 CockpitMirrors=1 CockpitReflection=0 EffectsDetail=0 TerrainDetail=0 TerrainTexture=0 HorizonDistance=0 GroundObjectDensity=0 WaterDetail=2 CloudsDetail=2 Shadow=0 ObjectsFade=TRUE I still have to juggle a little... It's a pity that lens flare cannot be turned off anymore. And I find the map quite weird: sometimes on black background, sometimes flickering blue-whitish... What bothers me most, is that I just can't figure out how to trigger my missles - that drags on the fun to SOME extent! Just sneaked behind a Blinder to take him down with guns, but we hit each other simultaneously (he has got a gun in the rear) and both went in...
  6. Notebook 2.5 GHz Dual Core 4 GM RAM NVIDIA GeForce M 8600GS SF2V was running pretty smooth with going halfway to "unlimited" settings, now I still have to play and adjust to get a good framerate - still checking it out... And what I am having heavy difficulty with, is getting my weapons fired. Seems I am one of the Oldtimers too much used to 60s/70s technology. I still have to find what exactly to do before hitting the button. In Vietnam it only was waiting for "good tone" for the 'winders and locking onto target for firing a radar guided missle. Now something still seems to be missing as even with good tone I cannot fire my 'winders (not by hitting "return", nore by pressing my assigned "2"-joystick button)... Strange... But I already found a lot of other skins selectable. Unfortunately my beloved Sundowners are coming without their sharkmouth...
  7. ...forgot: merging screwed my (quite extensively customized) mod-folder - I need to rewok it now... :suicide2: (Well I haven't applied Vietnam's XP Jan 2012 anyhow...)
  8. After taking a copy of my standalone SF2V (smart boy) I installed SF2NA and merged. VERY first observations + great details (water is terrific, carriers seem to have been improved a big lot) + so good to see Soviet fighters - let alone Jolly Roger's turkey! (Bear in mind I was running Vietnam only until now) - a considerable drop of fps - a big list of aircraft not really fitting that scenario Now big question: what benefit does merging provide? I cannot imagine making use of (Vietnam era) fighters in a modern scenario... Any other implications I am overlooking?
  9. Right - that fact just will not be enough for TK including VF-111 skins in his rollout SFNA... But I guess there will be some excellent modder jumping-in and delivering their skin for the game, soon - I hope...
  10. Oh YES!!! That would be great... And (while at it) I would love to see VF-111 Sundowners sent to NA as well... (Actually I was fully expecting them in the game, until you just pointed out this little disturbing fact that they are Pac, too! ...If not in-game, their skins should be moddable rather easily, ...or? Anything - TMF? - already available?)
  11. I am far from being a repainter, but shouldn't this be relatively easy to do and a nice addition to the Vietnam Expansion Pack?
  12. Okay, I finally got this solved - I found out that my back-up of the update-folder was screwed, so there were just incomplete F-4G-Aircraft- and Decal-data copied into the mod folder. As I still had a back-up of an install with a working F-4G, I simply copied back the G's Aircraft and Decals-docs back into the mod-folder and all is well again, now... As always: it was a mistake on the user's (MY) side. But thanks again for your support!
  13. Brief update: - I am on Apr 11 - G is no optional a/c when starting Rolling Thunder - starting F-4B_65 in Single Mission and selecting VF-213 does only bring the grey schemes... I will go on Sep 11 next and check the Converting-guide then...
  14. OH! First thing to check now, will be if I really am on Apr oder Sep 11 version of the XP (although there should not be much of a change concerning the F-4G). Thanks for that hint. I will follow the "Converting older Planes..."-guide you pointed me to as a next step then. And maybe I should try out RT-campaign on F-4G before doing both just to make sure. Until now I only tried to select the G for single missions... Thanks for your guidance, Eric.
  15. Hey guys - I'm puzzled now... That's what I did: I reapplied Eric's April-version (latest) Expansion Pack to my freshly updated (Nov 2011) SF2V. I DO have a full F-4G USN-folder (with its set of skins and ini's) in my mod's aircraft-folder - so it's all in there, but doesn't appear in game.... Must admit that I didn't find the time to check out anything else yesterday - so your input/comments are still much appreciated. Thanks Oliver
  16. Okay - I will... Thanks again
  17. Hm, that's what I thought it should - but it's not... What makes a plane get listed in the drop down? What can I check next? ...Thanks again for addressing to this so soon, Eric.
  18. Hi everybody - hope you enjoyed the Christmas days... After being "off" for quite some time (due to trouble with my rig, real word stuff and so on), I just updated my SF2V to Nov 2011 and re-applied the Expansion Pack freshly. ...Guess I never really followed up my F-4G "issue". Over "the process" of updating I saw that the USN-G (VF-213) indeed is included in the XP, but I (still) have difficulty finding/selecting it. When going on "Single Mission" the USN-G does not appear in the list of selectable aircraft.( Even after pre-selecting the mission time to 1965 or 1966 it does not show up.) I took a look into the aircraft folder and compared the G's .ini with one of another F-4 and it appears pretty much okay to me... OR: do I have to select the F-4B (65) first and can "switch" to the G by selecting VF-213 in the Loadout-screen later? Thanks for your guidance. Oliver
  19. Now, what it THIS? After updating to June 2011 (and completely reinstalling the Expansion Pack) when starting a campaign I cannot select any add-on-aircraft or skins anymore... When reinstalling the XP (for whatever reason) I had to go back into the aircraft-files and copy in skin-sets which weren't copied over (strange Windows) - might that have sth. to do with it? I'm lost (once again)...
  20. Okay, so this is my summary: - setting up Campaigns did change with the June-Patch. Campaigns are now being selected by aircraft firstly and squadron as a next step (before you selected your squad and still had kind of a "full selection") - SF2V seems to narrow your selction to squads active for that period - so you cannot select a VF-111 Linebacker II anymore, because in reality they weren't there (can anyone copy my assumption?) - add on skins can still be set as draft skins by a.m. procedure (post #10 by MigBuster) Thanks again for everybody's input!
  21. It's GREAT - you won't want to miss it anymore...
  22. Thanks everybody for their input... Daddy: fully clear that when I select VF-111 I cannot switch over to VF-84 - but that wasn't what I was after... MigBuster: okay, sth. for me to make sure... Eric: okay, so by changing the Campaign-data I might direct SF2V to always bring up Sundowner's high res VF-111-skin instead of TW's stock ("sharkmouth")? That would get me miles ahead at least... I'll also double-check whether the mass of aircraft coming with the Expansion Pack can be selected on campaigns.... So, I'll dive into your hints and give them a checkout. Thanks again.
  23. No, it's greyed out and cannot be selected - so no way to see wheter there's sth behind it (what I do suppose, too - it's just not accessible). So, MigBuster, what can I check or copy back (from my backup) concerning any screwed Campaign-Data? 1) A quick-check comparing the campaign-data with the back up of my latest campaign showed they look pretty much the same - same number of files, total size of files the same..... Where (in what .ini) would I have to look for the aircraft? 2) I was flyíng Linebacker I and when comparing the Campaign2 ini with my latest backed up one I find about the same aircraft in it... All in all it looks like TW doesn't allow me to change skins any more...!?
  24. Yessir - everything looks like it has to! What is different to before, is that when I create/select my F-4B-VF-111 Campaign, in the Loadout-screen the aircraft- and squadron-drop downs are all greyed out... No selection allowed there (so no modded VF-111-skin!). Not good...
