  1. Sorry, with "XP" I meant the "Vietnam Expansion Pack"..... So, in the mod-folder I do find all my aircraft - and they are perfectly selectable on "Single Missions" (I think - I'm not fully sure now, if I checked that - at least they all do apear in the drop-down!), but when setting up a new Campaign with, say, F-4B_67 and VF-111 I do only get TW's stock VF-111 skin... Furthermore I cannot create any Campaign with aircraft other than the stock TW's.....
  2. Nope - doesn't seem so... But something else: I updated just yesterday and applied the Expansion Pack (plus my other stuff) once again. On a plain SF2V (not mergerd with some of the other series, and no TW-Expansion Pack), what data from the XP needs to be put into the mod-folder? Only the contents of the "Dec 2009 and later" folder, but nothing from the "Expansion Pack 2 / Dec 2010 and later"-folder, right? And: although I am pretty sure I did everything by the books, I had to find out that several of my aircraft were missing some texture-folders... I checked back every single a/c-folder and copied the missing data back into my new mod folder... Still, I'm left with the feeling, that sth. might be missing. Well, I'll find out over the time.......
  3. Thanks Stary, I'll give it a try......
  4. Hummmm after some 5 weeks of being on vacation first and then on a line of business trips, I am coming back and see this discussion. I always used to apply TWs updates to my SF2V and Vietnam Expansion Pack almost immediately. This time I'm puzzled (and wasn't able to get the necessary information whether to update or not from this thread's previous discussion)... Can someone please answer me the following: - possible to get the Expansion Pack's trees back into the game (without them poking through the clouds)? - does the update give some eye candy? - does it improve on fps? If only one of these three checks out "yes", I guess I will save my current version as "Apr 11" and do the update and apply the Expansion Pack once again....
  5. @ Stary: those are real (background) pictures built into the "sreenies", right? If not - htf did you GET that???
  6. Two things - simple one first: me stupido! I always felt sorry for the trees in the 'Nam Expansion Pack being screwed with one of TKs updates... (The more with the addition of helos in the latest XP-Update.) So I moved on with updating the game and the XP... BUT I kept copies of my originaly SF2V May2009b-install and mod folder... So, it was an easy task now simply adding the latest XP with all the other beautiful add-ons (like aircraft!) to that install parallely. Now I have the choice of either playing the game on TKs latest patch - with DX10-lighting - or turning my Vista's Aero off and playing the May2009b version INCL. the trees! Coming to my "original" question: several screenies show a bunch of such nicely done airfield equipment like starter tractors, barrels and things like that. I think this is included in some other environment-mod... Can that be "extracted" somehow and carried over into the Vietnam Expansion Pack??? Same with the Aircraft Carriers seen elsewhere? If so, how? Here a screenie taken from the screenie-tread (by Gustav pg 165):
  7. Aaaargghh - overkill! Guess I'll leave everything as it is... I am definitively not that unhappy with the XP, to tackle such a thing..... But thanks for the how-to.
  8. ...which is limited - unfortunately. So: no joy... How about the truck, the light-poles and the red/white bars around them and eqipment?
  9. After installing the latest (April 2011) Update of the SF2V Expansion Pack and dropping some of Sundowner's excellent F-4-skins into the respective aircraft folders (F-4B_67 that is), this time (for the first time) I had to change the aircraft's .ini to find/include the new skins... I never had to do this before - just dropped in the skins and - presto - the game assigned them "automatically" and there they were in the game... Why is that? What changed? Maybe too many "stock" skins?
  10. Okay, thanks for the hint - I'll check that out...
  11. How could it be set to "read only"? No should be "fully accessible".....
  12. If I remember correctly (and I'm pretty sure I do) there IS a textureset in it... Another good hint towards that is that it worked flawlessly in the past - this was the first time (after many many game- and XP-updates) that the new skins weren't detected... Oh - maybe there already was a textureset.ini in the XP-Apr 2011and when I dropped the new skins (incl. the .ini) into the F-4B_67-folder I didn't let Sundowner's textureset overwrite the one in the XP - sounds sensible to me (overwriting then would make the XP's new skins not "recognized"). What do you think? Reasonable? Oh, btw: thanks for your laser-fast reply!
  13. May 29, 1972 VF-111 Sundowners over Hanoi...
  14. This XP is just plain GREAT - as valuable as the original SF2V-game itself... We can't thank you enough...
  15. Whoa - HELOS and F-4G!!! Great! And what kind of F-4B-tweaks are those? (...I am running several of Sundowner's skins - so do need to incorporate your changes into them somewhere?) Gone downloading the update.......
  16. Hi My F-4B_67 (VF-111 repaint by Sundowner. Only that one? At least I saw it there) shows the "NL" script on the upper surface starboard wing and "NAVY" on the lower surface port wing. How can I remove those scripts from the otherwise EXCEPTIONALLY BEAUTIFUL aircraft? I must say, I'm an absolute greenhorn when it comes to (re-)skinning... Thanks for your advice.
  17. Roger that - will come asap... After the weekend the lastest. I guess you took notice of my pimped Sundowner-bonedomes (yellow bucket with red outlined white "Omar") on Screenshots page 164, I guess?
  18. Exchanged the .bmp's yesterday and they absolutely do the trick. Big THANK YOU again!
  19. GRRREEEAAAT! Thanks, Dave... Over the WE (yesterday) I dove into the files but found the tags too complicated to remove myself... So, your work is frickin' cool and utmost appreciated! Looking forward to applying them this evening...
  20. After Wrench's reply above, I am having second thoughts, whether I understood Sundowner correctly... Now, are the tags accurate or not?
  21. No sorries - as said: I LOVE your F-4 skins. Especially the "Sundowners"! Hum, any chance maybe that you will dig into that and take the tags off? I figure that would be a lot faster than if I tried that out.........
  22. Thanks for your reply and clarification. I might nosedive into the aircraft's template and see if I might tackle that NAVY tag... If not, it's not THAT much of a hassle - Sundowner's F-4 skin is just too good to let this detail drag too much......
  23. Hum, ARE they? "NL" on the fin and "NAVY" on the fuselage are no-brainers, but I never saw those scripts on the wings. Neither on photos, nore in model-building.....
  24. Here two screenies of my mildly modified VF-111 pilots (original by pappychksix - Pete Federico)... All I did, was "replacing" the white helmet shells with yellow ones and turn the red triangle figure (what was it's name again?) with yellow outline into white whith red outline. That's the way, I think, it was during WestPac...
