MiniPATCH V1.32g is now available!
itifonhom replied to Polovski's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Thanks, it's quite amazing the support here! itifonhom -
Fantastic artwork! Really love it, nice perspective, good light effects and a masterful technique, great drawing indeed! itifonhom

As I'm not good at composing an article myself, I'm going to wait until someone is done with an article at Wikipedia, English or German. I can then translate it to Greek, my native language. I'm sure, all together we can make it for a good presentation, what you think? itifonhom

Hey Olham, thanks for the link. At first I was thinking about the 1/48 Albatros D.III of Eduard but while searching the net about Albatri I saw something that took my breath! And it's not 1/32 but 1/16!!! You can see it at http://www.scaleautoworks.com/albatross.htm although I found the same model in Germany under another company name. With 57cmx45cm isn't really easy to have at home but I think I'm going to make a vitrine on the wall. BTW, are those models yours Sir? Are you a modeler? itifonhom

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-wing open crate
itifonhom replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Not sure what it means exactly myself or even where it comes from. I've heard it once or twice at german tv, never at private conversations though, and I understand it to be something between "good luck" and "strength and courage". Suppose it's only still used from elderly people so maybe it was acustomed more around the WWII. I'd like to learn more about it myself, maybe Olham knows something? itifonhom -

I started at Jasta 13 at Seotember 15!! Empty skies after three missions but I enjoy it after loosing Herr Mainfeld in a dogfight. The Eindecker is wonderful indeed, too bad there are no Morane- Saulniers around to play. Good choice Olham, Hals und Beinbruch! itifonhom -
Hey Olham, thanks mate, nice info! I'm thinking of starting modelling again, just because of OFF!! Already made almost all the Revell 1/72 kits but now I'm after really BIG! So your info will eventually come handy. itifonhom

Amazing to see these conditions people were into. And they were damn serious about it! Nice find, thanks for the link. itifonhom

Jasta 2 is really a great place to be mid September '16, I even made it to stay alive to get the transfer to Riencourt! Don't know if the aerodromes looks the same for everybody but named the house next to the flugplatz my own residence! Also enlisted Herr Manfred Pechvogel with Jasta 13 at '15, let's see how long he'll make it! Kopf hoch mein Herr, der Kaiser ruft!! itifonhom

Sorry to hear about your pilots Olham, you must be feeling really "scheise" now! I have to say I follow your rule, fly only in good mood. I'm still in Jasta 2 end of September '16 and looks really great! Fees and Bees, some strutters and Scouts, some Nieuports. Burry your pilots and start over, I'm sure the next one will make it to the Max! itifonhom

But of course Olham, why not? I'm going to put both in my favorites and check them as regular as I can. itifonhom

Well, I speak German but it's not my native language and I'm not that perfect on this. But I am surely understandable, no doubt. I could help if I can, although I am rather new to this aim myself and I'm sure for the work in the interface, you are much more qualified for this Olham. I took notice of the small german mistakes in the current interface but found it pretty sweet! itifonhom

Hi fellow pilots, as I am quite new to this sim and although my latest pilot, Herr Mainfeld seems to be quite lucky at the time, I still got problems with the aircraft recongnition. When I am in a dogfight, find it hard to recognize which aircraft I have as an opponent, so I pause the game and I toggle the labels on, just to see the type, and then again toggle labels off. Of course not always, I got some types in my head by now but not everything yet. So, to my question. Normally I see something like " 13 Esc Airman N17" or something like this. But during my last mission, we engaged some Nieuports and when I toggled the labels on to check the type I saw instead of "Airman" , a name before the type. Does this mean that the pilot was an ace or something? Anybody knows? Thanks for any tipps, itifonhom.

A nice post indeed Olham. I got aware of OFF from a german magazine you propably know, FS Magazine. I don't know if you read this review but I got the impression that many Germans could have problems with the interface of OFF, being all in English. I found it really simple but reading this review I was waiting some complicated things. On the other hand, I speak a lot better English than German. Maybe it is a good idea to inform our fellow german speakers that it's not that difficult after all. itifonhom

Same with BE2c, they just fly straight even under fire. I have to admit though that when I see BE2c flying before me, I thank my good luck for this present! But even if they try to "escape" I don't think they got a real chance. And I think I read somewhere that they had in real orders to stay in formation and don't break. I think that was for the Fees for some time. itifonhom
-
So I see Olham. So just hypothetical, it's possible to shoot down an ace twice, right? That's interesting! But I know what you mean, it's better this way. itifonhom
-
I got a button on my joystick for the labels already, my new configuration. I would like to see in the labels the type only too and the pilots name if ace. Or even see the pilots name in the mission review or at an extra screen like "You maybe shot down........". Or if the victory is confirmed, a notice in the dossier. I still can't believe I shot down an ace! This Erich Mainfeld is really lucky! During his last six missions he's being shot down twice but lived, had two of his D.II destroyed and one mid-air collision with a Nieuport but still made it home! Only one mission in six was without surprises. And that was the one with the French ace!!! OFF is getting better and better!!! itifonhom
-
Ohhh I didn't know that! Actually, there were two aces in a flight of three. Our flight were three Albatri D. II, we were four but lost one pilot to flak, a lot higher and with the sun behind us. I lost track of one wingman and the unknown opponent during the flight but the two aces went down, one for me and one for my wingman!! He was my first ace! Unfortunately I didn't even noticed his name, if only I knew. Maybe I get his name from the Newspaper, is it possible? itifonhom

At last, I'm going to have more time for flying! For sure, that's the future! itifonhom -
Single OFF screen shot... enjoy!

Nice to know Sir! I will try your tactics when it comes to this! itifonhom -
I got the Freetrack in two versions, one LED and four LEDs. I run the one LED version with OFF and it's just great, cheap and effective! itifonhom

I'm maybe the least experienced here but I think I noticed that although it's quite easy to fly and aim from six, it needs a lot more bursts than when firing at high deflection shots. Maybe I was just lucky but I downed some FE2 with short bursts at their cockpit at high angles. As I said though, I'm not an ace! itifonhom
