  1. With Flaming Cliffs, you can get access to many more airplanes. However, they will be based on the original player cockpits with most of them being Russian by default, even NATO birds. I am not sure about flight models. I think they follow suit in that they actually use the flight model of the original. I coudl be off on that. The F-16 flies pretty well, but it's based on a 27 or 29. My big letdown right now is that the F-15 is horribly underdone. it was the first aircraft to be able to accelerate will climbing straight up under light load. It can't at all in Lomac. 60k ft max plus alt. Corner v is up near 630 kts. I'm sorry but one way to bug out with a thrust banger like that is straight up. There is no substitute for big thrust and little wingloading. How do you think the 27s and 29s do it? Man I bought this new 5 years ago and just got FC. I'm really bummed now cause the new terrain and parking boxes are kind of cool. Lo res terrain outside of airfield taxiways is a bit annoying. I am ready to move on to Strike Fighters. I hear the Av History gang is hard at work there.
  2. High gang. My install is working fine now and I've set about doing some testing. I would like to edit the view.lua to allow more rearward view but I think the FC trackir settings won't allow that. I dont' see any cockpit.lua in my appropriate folder. Also, I have tested the B-1 and B-52 for payload delivery. Cool but limited in some ways. I dont' think any missles can be launched by players. Bombs are fine and seem to only work from the front bombay on the B-1 and the underwing pylons on the B-52. Or at least those were the best to fly with. Any more and the weight issues are staggering. Starting in at 30,000 ft was barely enough. Also, guidance for weapons is not really there. No GBU laser guided bombs tracked at all. Not sure what the drop cue would be? Any ideas? This includes awac in mission.
  3. Thanks Jedi master. I did some more looking over at another forum and came up with some answers. In FC, the cockpit.lua is no longer active. What you want to edit is the servers.lua. There you can change the h and v max angle settings. Switch it to 180 and you get a good look at your headrest. In 90' bank, you can see up over and tracj you adversary pretty well. Cool for immersion. I am busy editing my graphics settings and downloading mods. The park boxes mod is cool but a little heavy on fps at Dzankoy. Maybe it's the trees? Loving the game now. Helps to edit your joystickrange.cfg too. Eliminates a lot of the overcontrol, propoising of these big jests going slow.
  4. Nah, I dont' think laser guided bombs are really active in LOMAC. Only Mavericks and CCIP. HARMs? Who knows. I have another question... is it possible to get 180' look backs with TrackIR? My FC install had no cockpit.lua file to edit. Still stops at 120'.
  5. OK it cuold be I was tryign to lock with the wrong keymap. Just discovered the difference in my A-10. Air lock and ground lock are not the same. Off to test the bombers.
  6. Yup, I was trying to apply the fog reduction from the mods section and somehow broke my install. I was using Modman and also looking at the graphics.cfg file. Instead of moving the ETL.fsc to another folder, I hid it in 2 folders in the same scenes folder where it lives. I am not sure my modman is still working properly. I tried adjusting the tree density there too. I was launching lomac through modman it it didnt' seem to help. The first time I tried it, I still had the graphics file open and I wonder if that might have been the problem. Maybe I should just reinstall? What a PITA. Thanks. Oh yeah, the menus load fine it's just the sim window hangs when starting to render. I just see my desktop, black window frame and flashing icons on my desktop.
  7. OK I fixed it. Reinstall and then got msvcrt.dll error with entrypoint keyboard error thingy. Read up on how to fix. Sure enough, either Loman, my reinstall or both set me back to 2003 msvcrt version. Swaped with 2004 SP2 version from system32 file and all is well. Splashed some migs and laned back at base. Not sure about fog mod. My GeForce 7600GS is doing fine with low scenery but high textures. If someone wants to advise on how to employ the mod go right ahead. I will reinstall loman too as I think that was the problem. So glad my liftlines were still in the folder. Coolness.
