  1. I am running three 20.1" dell 2007FPs in an eyefinity setup with a xfx 5870 and track ir, and I must say the immersion is amazing! OFF and IL2 are both unreal to play! But sadly I have to confess that even with this supercomputer and saweet monitor gadetry I still find it difficult to get a pilot past ten hours and twenty kills before they are killed. My last couple of pilots have been victims of sensless deaths, one clipped a tree making an emergency landing, and the last one's landing gear clipped a trane during a strife and then he too clipped a killer tree. So here is my setup, is anybody else running triple monitors, it really is fantastic! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v725/l88bastard/120120098500.jpg I was running a 30" with two 20.1"s but eyefinity does not support different monitor configs and SoftTH just was not cutting it performance wise, but I really loved how that setup looked. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v725/l88bastard/112220098259.jpg
  2. Here is my Work In Progress, using an Asus Eyefinity 6 card. I am running three Dell U2410s and two 1080p projectors. Note that the third monitor is not on because I am waiting for the DP adapter to arrive. Also, this is an extreme work in progress as I am going to make a custom screen for the projectors. I have not even hung the projectors yet and have a lot of work to do in terms of aligning the projectors, calibrating the projectors, mounting the custom screen, etc., so this is an extreme work in progress. Sorry for the crappy pics, I took these during the day so the screen is a bit washed out and the picture is unfocused too. The picture will look better once the custom screen is built, right now I am toying with different types of blend software for the projectors. Anyway here is the rough, rough, rough version of my gaming system.
  3. You are seeing the paradox brought on by a 720p camera which is trying to capture a 3840x1080 screen. I can assure you there is no fisheye when you are sitting in front of it all!
  4. Thanks for the kind words everyone! I will be sure and update you all when I have the final version setup....AND I WILL HAVE OFF ON THE SCREEN WHEN I DO!!!
  5. Thanks! Yea its just about life size, here is a video showing how it looks from the cockpit!
  6. I have to go with a nice stein of Hoegaarden White, I just discovered this beer yesterday and it is now stocked in my mess on a permanent basis!
  7. There are soo many great artists, prints and paintings out there that it is almost impossible to choose! I just bought each of these two prints for my home office, what do you all think? http://www.directart...php?ProdID=1784 http://www.directart...hp?ProdID=19645
  8. I just won Trudgian's Tiger Fire on Ebay for $150 (it retails for about $425). Lets hope its authentic, if so I am very stoked because I have had my eye on this one forever! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320568528549&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
  9. Thanks Louvert! I think I will dedicate a wall for related artwork, but its soo hard not to fill that wall up all at once! I think I am good for late war german aircraft now and will try and find some earlier paintings, but I gotta pace myself, lol I really love how Berryman portrayed a historically accurate scene in the final curtainl! I am doing my best to resist buying these http://www.russellsmithart.com/Small%20pages/WingedValor.htm http://www.russellsmithart.com/Small%20pages/Starting%20Line.htm
  10. So I am able to dedicate one bedroom to be my mancave/study and I am on a quest to have some quality artwork reproductions or prints of EVR and or MVR. I am very impressed with James Milton Sessions work and would love to have a reproduction or print of both of these works as I fear the originals would be too expensive for me. And I would like a painting of the red baron as well and if anybody knows of similar works for MVR please let me know where I could find those. Thanks for any help / advice!
  11. OVS I am Jealous! The Circus Rolls at Dawn is fantastic! Unfortunately they are gone, baby gone :(
  12. Those are some talented artists Olham, anybody know of more! Thanks!
  13. Sorry the video is of that other game, that I wont mention, but it has a replay feature which made it easier to film eyefinity in action. (make sure you set it to 1080p) If you are interested in a three screen setup or curious as to what all the hype is about, then check it out. The video is about five minutes long and I lose my prop to a flying wing around the 1:10 mark and manage to take another plane down and then glide into town for some cocktails I am running three Dell U2410s in a 6048x1200 resolution setup. Obviously, the actual game looks much better than the video, but this gives you a pretty good idea of how much more immersion you get.
  14. I love them both, I can't get enough of WWI aviation, I have whole stack of books and am building a dedicated sim cockpit...the whole bug started when somebody on the 1C IL2 forums recommended OFF to me (which harkened way back to my childhood and RedBaron from Dynamix/Sierra) I go to ROF for multiplayer and I go to OFF for everything else.
  15. Thats exactly what I upgraded to. The 980x was the first extreme processor I have ever bought and I love it! On applications that use multi-cores its six cores kick some major ass. The rampage III is great as well, I have it coupled with 12 gigs of corsair memory. Running the setup ocd to 4ghz on a corsair H50 watercooler and could not be happier!
  16. I understand, I just upgraded from a Sanyo PLV-Z4 to a Mitsubishi HC3800 and I love it! I am going to get a second HC3800 and run them in eyefinity, just gotta figure out the wall space. I am also making a dedicated cockpit with an amazing chair once I get in my new place...gonna be sweet!
  17. I know, but its all your fault when you showed us your beautiful triple 24" setup I could not resist the upgrade bug
  18. Ok, so I am spoiled and have an over the top computer. Currently, I am running three Dell U2410 monitors at 6048x1200 resolution with OFF and it is an excellent experience. However, I have a confession. I hate the bezels between the monitors, no matter how I try to live with them nothing pisses me off more than loosing a bogey in the bezel gap for that split critical second. Also, even though triple 24 screens are great, I have my xbox 360 hooked up to a 120" projector and I really miss big screen projector gaming. Here are a few projector setups I have had over the years: My current setup with a 120 motorized screen: An old apartment I lived in after university and an old, old, projector setup I had five years ago (note the doorway on the bottom right of screen) So for the past few days I have been searching for two projectors to hook up together for the best of both worlds...BIG SCREEN WIDESCREEN GAMING!! However, there are problems, issues and considerations to ponder when using projectors. The main problem is heat. Projectors throw off A LOT OF HEAT! My Sanyo LCD PLV Z4 turns my living room into a sauna after an hour of use...I am serious, it is unbearable, so the thought of what kind of heat two projectors would create was almost enough to discourage me. The second problem is lamp life. Your typical projector lasts 3,000-5,000 hours and replacement bulbs cost $200-$800 dollars! I was just about to give up and then I found this little beauty! http://www.sivalinstruments.com/projectors/mini-projector-mp720b1 This Isival uses LED tech which runs much, much cooler versus traditional LCD and DLP projectors and well just look at the colors he is hitting withi it in this ladybug demo Also go to 1:20 in this video and check out the colors he is hitting with two of em in eyefinity at 2560x768 resolution!!! Also, these have a lamp life of 30,000 hours!!!!! And the less resolution does not bother me (versus my triple dell setup) because that just means I will get better frame rates and can turn more sliders to 5!!! So I ordered two of em and I will keep you all posted on how it goes, but given my past experience with bigscreen gaming and now the combination of two of em for bigscreen widescreen gaming.....I may never leave my mancave.
  19. Yep, they are going to waive the restocking fee. A classy company indeed and when the tech improves I will buy from them again. Hmmm, I got a good screen its just the same ol thing...you begin looking at $500 projectors and then you find yourself looking at $1,000 projectors and then you find yourself dreaming over the $2,000 projectors and wishing over the $5,000 projectors!
  20. I received these today and hastly set them up in my living room and the verdict is: "GOOD GOD THESE ARE FAWKING TERRIBLE!!!" I would go on and elaborate, but that would be a waste of your time and mine. Ill just put the bulletins up: (1) Contrast is GOD AWFUL, I never realized how spoiled I am with my U2410 monitors and my old Z4 projector, but I am. Even at the best focus the text was very fuzzy to read. (2) Color reproduction was Awful and the horrific black levels made me want to die. I had a headache in five minutes. (3) There is a 15% restocking fee, which totals $150. I have asked customer support in an email to wave the fee so I will have to wait and see how expensive this terrible experiment turns out to be. If they bang me on the fee, I will never buy their products again and make it a mission to make sure nobody else does either. I will keep you posted on this. Basically, the LED tech is a far way from being ready. The contrast, color, and brightness ratios need to come way, way up before the tech is doable.
  21. Thanks Duce, yea these are great lil doggiez and apparently built to last....happy birthday to your lil chicken leg hobo!!
  22. lol, well in all fairness Duce did have dibs. I just got a pocket camcorder that records in 1080p so I will show you guys the setups in action when I get all the goodies. This is the recorder I ordered, what a nifty lil gadget! http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-PlaySport-Waterproof-Pocket-Camera/dp/B0030MITDK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1278510503&sr=8-1
  23. lOL, Yes but you will have to sleep in the crate with the attack dogs Ahh I just ordered a 1080p camcorder so I will be able to show you guys some footage with both the dell u2410 setup and the bezeless projector setup soon!
  24. Ah, I hope so, I am moving into a bigger place at the end of the month...going from a one bedroom condo into a much larger two bedroom and the woman says I can have the second bedroom all to myself...so i am making it my dedicated man cave!
