  1. Lost OFF Game Sound

Good to see you have it sorted out slipstream. Nothing worse than a glitch to ruin a good day.
  2. Thinking of starting a collection

True! Then you could have your beloved Snipe! Like this one:
  3. Thinking of starting a collection

Build the models yourself. It is far more rewarding, and you can correct the details yourself to make them look proper.
  4. Actually BH, it's quite interesting to play. The control of the individual ships, or squadron control, and attack orders, and the like. A good strategy game for Naval Surface fighting with old dreadnaughts and destroyers and everything inbetween.
  5. Not sure if I would go that route. That was I think the way the rigging wires were done in RB3D, and there were some odd artifacts that would be seen at different angles while looking around from left to right, or if you had a plane padlocked. In otherwords, if you looked at the rigging wires on end they looked like a "+", or an "X". The use of an alpha though left a few oddities that had to be lived with. I think I will try a very thin 3 or four sided cylinder and comepare it to what is seen in the game when you fly.
  6. Lost OFF Game Sound

Good one uncleal! Forgot about the "HiddenFolders" part. I don't have any Hidden. I set it up so I can see them all, as it helps sort out issues that can and do arise from time to time.
  7. Lost OFF Game Sound

Slipstream, Just a "WAG", but check your Windows installation to make sure that nothing in the OS got corrupted, as it happenned when I first installed XP some years ago on my old rig. Everything worked fine, until I went to fly B17 TME, and all the menu sounds were fine, as was the music, but the moment I tried to enter the 3D world, it was like everything was on mute. What I ended up doing, was saving everything I needed on the HD to cd disks, and reformatting the hd, and starting from scratch. It fixed the sound problem though. Funny thing was, it didn't affect anything else. Just B17. You could try a restore point if you haven't yet. It just sounds like something is corrupted or outta whack. Could be my brain too. Also, when you removed CFS and OFF, did you make sure all registry entries were gone too? The other thing that you can look for (Installshieldinformation) on your main drive in ProgramFiles x86, there will be some folders in there with long string type names. If you open them individually, there should be a setup.ini file that tells you what software it is associated with. Make sure to delete the file if it has any reference to CFS3 or OFF-BHAH. I know those installshield folders used to raise cain with Rowan's BoB if you didn't remove the folder before reinstalling the game. Hope one of these suggestions work. Although I have no experience with Win7 yet. I may do that in the future when I grab a couple more hard drives so I can set up a nice RAID configuration.

He had his planes rigged out with small pulleys in the cockpit and holes in his pockets so he could run tethers between the stick and his hands. Best way to keep them warm I guess, unless he was fond of pocket pool.
  9. I think she liked mainly half naked men on the screen. Kinda like the scantily dressed frauleins in her love stories she liked to see, that's the main reason I went. Look at the girls, but not get in trouble.
  10. Pilot's Facemask Pictures

Looks like Jason's WWII flying garb.
  11. As long as some one does a "right" one, that doesn't turn into a stupid "chickflick". I went to enough of them with the ex to appease her, so she was obligated to go to my action / war flicks. She didn't care for Braveheart, or the Patriot, or Memphis Belle for that matter. I did get her to watch the German made Stalingrad film, where it starts out at a hospital in Italy? But it was a good film! She didn't care for that one. Too rough I think. I don't remember who made that one, but let them do a WWI GAS film. She did sit through all 5 hours of Das Boot, and it was pretty rough in some spots. She actually liked that one.
  12. Danke Herr Olham! What I wonder, is where the synchronized guns are on the fighters. They fire like they have none. Also, the constant firing without stoppages, if you hold the trigger like that, you'll melt the gun barrells, and warp them, or have guns so jammed, that they will be useless until serviced by the groundcrew. That's the only thing I dislike about films, is how details are ignored. At least the Blue Max had synchronized guns firing, even if not 100%, they were close, and gave you the impression of what it was like.
  13. Thanks BH! Here's a little detail shot of the landing gear. Got used to using the boolean cut for the holes for the axle to pass through, and then used the slicing tool to cut the axle tube where it passes through the strut, then it was just a matter of working the vertex dots and welding them to secure it all. I still need to add a thin tube in front odf and behind the axle tube that the original had, as it helped brace the struts.
  14. Good points BH! I was also curious about that point of the matter. Thankyou for the compliments! But pat yourself on the back, as your help, especially the moral support helped trmendously. I wasn't sure if extruding them (the rigging) was the best policy. The struts I have, I meticulously stopped them just ever so shy of touching any wing or fuselage surface, but I also have to work very carefully to shape the strut ends to surface they are supposed to be attached to, and from zooming in, I can't find any real nasty gaps that would look obvious, at least from the angles in the cockpit. That may be the order of business for the rigging, using a veryfine 3 or 4 sided object. The one thing I wasn't watching was the size of things with the wing struts and those odd looking rods that go from the fuselage up through the wing, those are aileron control rods, and bellcrancks. But the struts are too small, and the control rods are too fat.

I like Robert Taylor's work, although he mostly does WWII era planes, his WWI stuff is nice.
  16. OT- A New Fuhrer

That was funny! Love English humor! Still go back and watch the the Python Flying Circus. The Cheese Shop, Dead Parrot, and the original skit of the Lumberjack are good ones for a laugh. Oh yes, and the skit where everyone is turning Scottish.
  17. Yes it can be had at hardware stores for a better price than the hobby stores. Just look for anything that is a liquid mask. It works wonders for masking the clear glass parts around the cockpit.
  18. Just a little update on the Halberstadt CLII, The tail feathers and lower wings are attached to the fuselage and the ailerons are now cut in. Thanks for the input on the ailerons Hairyspin! Also added a spinner on the nose to give it the streamlined look.
  19. Any pics without the flying cap? She's a looker all right! And she can fly too! Woof Woof! Even better if she was a redhead.
  20. OT-Flu and Cold Season

Kingkat, Best thing, get a whole fryer chicken, boil it whole until done. Remove the bird from the water and let it cool. Add 2 lbs of carrots chopped unless you get the baby carrots, and 2 lbs of chopped celery. Once the chicken cools peel it off the bones, and remove the skin, and return the deboned and skinned chicken to the broth. Season with salt, pepper, and to taste, and 2 tblspns of parsley flakes. The Mrs. will be back in good in a couple days. My daughter was ill over the holiday visiting from school, and dad fixed her up, in a couple days. Smae kind of crud it sounds like you folks had. Just feed them some good broth to start with, and when they feel better, some of the veggies and meat with the broth to gain strength. My daughter was back in business in 48 hours, and he doc said it would take a week to ten days to run it's course.
  21. Jayo, If you wish, you can try these tweaks to your system which can help free up memory. But being 4 years old, shouldn't be that big an issue. As far as your memory goes, your best bet would be to pull the side cover and physically inspect what you have, and try to match it. Also you will also see if there are more slots available for more "sticks" of ram. You can also look at these tweaks from Blackviper for your system: http://www.blackviper.com/ They can help you to free up memory so there aren't a lot of backround programs running when you are playing OFF.
  22. OT Worst 'Simulator' ever?

Who would want to simulate shootin' critters! And catchin' fish without the cold spray of the water stinging your face is just unfathomable! Although they do make 'em! I had a little hand held fishing game from the workers when I was laid up a couple years back with a broken ankle. It was stupid, but it sure beat starin' at the ceilin'!
  23. 3 Star USMC General Smedley Butler said it best, "War is a Racket". It's a good read too.
  24. Thanks BH! I was trying the method which ended up more complicated than it was worth, so I ended up doin' your method on accident. The washout on this bird is pretty darn intense. Go to page 132-133 in the recent book you got, and look at the second pic down from the top, and check out the curve the trailing edge has. It has washout at the outer panels, and the wingroot! I had to just sit back, and work the dots manually to achieve the desired effect. But the end product isn't too bad. Here's some pics of the basics roughed in. Even the pics if you look closely, the upper and lower wings have pronounced washout. That probably explains why it was a popular aircraft with the schlastas. It would have been a very steady bombing platform and recon type. Also good for shooting the parabelum on the ring mount.
  25. A little update. The top wing is looking about right. Both the upper and lower wings incorporated washout (wingtwist) so that took some time to get it to look right. Still need to finnish off the tail feathers, and I don't have the ailerons cut in yet, but it's getting there.
