Yes, both game configs are the same. I'm gonna have a look at the CFS3 files. Thanks for your help. -
will off workin windows 7

My latest build is an AMD 64 bit quad 3.2Ghz. with 4 gb. ram and ATI5870 card. Mobo is Asus M4A79t. Win 7 Premium Home 64 bit OS. Anything I put in this machine runs super fast at max settings....except OFF. If I install OFF and don't tweak too much I'll get 4-5 FPS out of the box. After the compatibility stuff and some dedicated tweaking maybe I'll hit 15 to 20 FPS. My old machine is an AMD quad 2.6 Ghz. with 4 gb. ram, WIN XP 32 bit and ATI 5770 card. I forget what the mobo is. Now here's the thing. I can set up both of my machines side by side and run OFF on both, (I know I only paid for one license but this is in the interest of science so I hope the OFF guys don't get upset.) Anyway, setting both machines identically and restarting until both game environments are the same (ie. sunny day, few clouds) my older, slower XP machine runs at a solid and enjoyable 40 to 50 FPS. The new computer under Win 7 and with the good card struggles at 20-25 FPS. And that's the scoop. Yes, I've installed correctly and yes I've read the FAQ and tried all the tips that made sense. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. -

I don't know what's up with my machine but OFF runs poorly on AMD64 bit CPU and Win7 64 bit. Other more graphically challenged games run just super but OFF was so bad I moved it to my old XP 32 bit and AMD 32 bit machine. On that machine it preforms well and is quite enjoyable. -
Hello all, Had the game a couple of weeks and am enjoying it so far. Don't misunderstand this tiny bit of criticism but I have to say though that while OFF looks decent it is nothing special graphics wise, especially compared to Bioshock or Crysis. I find it disconcerting that I only get frame rates at around 25 to 30 on medium settings on this game when my computer can run Crysis at UltraHigh and 60 fps. It seems to me that with OFF the devs have hitched their pony to a very old wagon. Has there been any thought given to upgrading the 3d engine? In my opinion that would be far more beneficial and welcomed than another airplane or skin.

That's what I find a little odd with my setup. I get more FPS in the 'no cockpit-gunsight view' than I do from cockpit view. You would think the computer is drawing more screen and would be slower if anything. Anyway, thanks for the advice. I'll give it try tonight.

I hope this post doesn't come off as complaining because I'm not. I can hit the low 40's frame rate wise if I go into gunsight view (f3) but that's not 'real' to me. And I only mention Crysis because its an awesome game graphically. When playing Crysis I sometimes find myself stopping just to sight see. To me that's immersion. Further to OFF, there's another WW1 flight sim out that a friend of mine has purchased. He seems pretty impressed with it. Both games looked good to me but I backed away from the other because of the DRM method the publisher uses (as copy protection?). You have to stay connected to their server in Russia while you are playing and that struck me as odd. So after a bit of thought I decided on OFF and its the potential of this game that spurred this thread.

Been there and done that long before posting. My point was I appreciate the effort that went into this compilation and it would be nice to see it modernized. If there are constraints that keep that from happening then so be it.
