I don't have plans for sticking to a particular plane but now I believe I have to. What about the Spitfire. When I was reading the Battle of Britain when I was 12, I read about all the glory of this legendary fighters, sounds like the F/A-18 of today. You said it right, I was so unlucky to enter a spin right after the plane started to stall almost every time. I hate when it does that. The AI always does that, splashes right in front of you and the the moment I realize that, it is already on my six. I believe we are on the same plane where the AI is trying to perform a flat scissor as it loses the advantage over me. I know what I've done wrongly. I break left, banking by 45 degrees, pull back on my stick (give me a hard on:grin:), speed bleeds, naturally by so much that after I have completed a 180 degrees thinking that the AI should be right in front of me, my speed is always less than 280KM which translate into 140Knots. I know this is bad. Should I do a Split-S, but I don't have that speed to climb to perform a 180 degrees turn in a vertical plane? If I roll by 180 degrees and perform the same 180 degree turn in the vertical down direction, do I pull back on the throttle so that he turn can be completed faster with a smaller radius? By beating the AI by a faster time, I suppose I can get advantage of a kill??

Hey gumpy! Thanks for the pointers!! It turns me on when I hit the WWI projects forum. Wasn't aware of IL-2's engine can be used for WWI scenarios. Should be a blast I say! Would you folks fill me in on WWI fighters? I mean general information regarding the aerodynamics sides of thins and aircraft specifications. I know every well about F-16, F-15, F-22, EF-2000, JAS-39, Spitfire, Tornado, Typhoon....etc. I mean the ceiling, cruise speed, AoA, range....all those you know...

Is it a different graphics engine SF2? Or it is just a compatability boost?

Even so, the sky looks natural. Yes, this one is good, bought it for $14.95, I still think it worths the money.

I am a newbie to Thirdwire games. Played F4 for years, want a change. Strike Fighter is really a blast graphics-wise. I saw the Midway Campaign somewhere on this site. Don't have Combat Flight Simulation 2, expensive still so did not buy it. Guess the Midway mod here should turn me on. Now I have Strike Fighter Project 1 vanilla version. Which patch should I apply to the fresh installation before I proceed to install the Midway mod? Thanks a million for your help...

Many thanks to you folks for all the help you have given to support my getting to know the game better. What I really meant was why the "Fligthsim.exe" executable from the virgin version of the box I purchased doesn't like the patch which I downloaded from Thirdwire? Did I get the so-called Wallmart version? I have noticed the same Wrench about the Korean mod. Holy Darkness for the first mission and all of them are empty under the pylons! Do you folks remember Sabre Ace? I believe we simmers have had put a lot efforts into this once acclaimed flight sim back in the 90's. I was just a bit retrospective about that and want to re-acquire the fun of playing some first generation jet fighters from Korean Mod, besides, the graphics of TK's series if not the first class, second class at the very least! I wish I could purchase a box of it rather than just downloading it from TW's site. Besides, I am used to eBay and Amazon now.

Where can I find the Korean Terrain?

I think I have got Strike Fighter Gold now. In the home folder, there is another executable by the name of "SFG.EXE". If I want to run the Korean Mod http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=1494, Do I still need the weapon pack?

Too bad that I've just ordered 2 games, I should have included CFS3 in the same shipment as currently my relocation is outside the US. I'll have to wait until next time, some books are needed for my studies, will include that with CFS3 in the next deal. By the way is OFF free for download? Also, say after I've got CFS3, do I need to patch it up before installing OFF? Last but not least, where I might find manuals as to how to fly WWI aircrafts? Guess stalling is the most common and the most difficult to deal with...

I was trying to patch the vanilla version to patch 3.2 but it bailed out with an error message saying: "The file C:\PROGRA~1\STRATE~1\STRIKE~1\FlightSim.exe is not a valid previous version and could not be upgraded" Now what's wrong?

Hmm...looks like OFF might be CPU bounded. My Q6600 might limit its performance. But thanks for the info. I think my rig can't run Rise of Flight, suppose OFF is not a bad option.
