Very nice indeed! I must add an extra thanks for the effort to get them correct. Now if I can get out of Photoshop long enough to fly a few, I'll be able to fully enjoy them as intended.

Thanks Bucky, it's nice to know this sometimes tedious effort is appreciated. The project started back in March but there were interruptions. Now that Laton is pitching in there is no doubt we will be able to release this bird. For a while I was totally stuck as my version of the software would not open the 3dMax files I inherited from Dagaith (who in now in the army). There were only a few things to do, most important being the distance LODs, and Laton did those before he went on his Honeymoon. For some reason I haven't heard much from him lately -- ;) I did a nearly total overhaul of the cockpit, which now is complete. The rest involved converting the skin packages from 2048 x 2048 down to 512 x 512. Dagaith started in that size to maximize quality and we both continued along for some time with no real thought given to converting down to standard size. Downsizing has proved to be a bit challenging. Much of the original detail was lost when the files were simply reduced, even with rasterized smart images. Consequently, the standard size skins I am making ready for release are virtually total makeovers, with significant use of decals to preserve some of the nicer bits. Frame rates are quite good, at least on my rig. I now have four Belgian Strutters done in 512 and will soon have squadron sets filled out. Then I'll rework the British and French counterparts (which were originally done in 2048 x 2048). Those will include at least the 2 seat observation versions and perhaps a few of the 1B2 two seat bomber type which were produced by the French. I need to look at adapting a bomb sight, and there a few of bits to be worked though on that model. The one seat bombers and the "Comic" Home Defense version will have to wait for Laton to massage the files in 3dMax. Dagaith put an huge amount of effort into this project and was determined to get the best quality possible on both the model and the skin sets before release. I promised him I would follow his mandate. Meanwhile, here are a few more screenies. All are based on photos on on the Belgian Air Service site of some of the the hand me down aircraft they got from the British.

There are always compromises. We just get better at it. We can't smell the pine needles either. No need to apologize - you are doing very impressive work.

I see NP. Good quality good speed. Screens load in 1 -3 sec. I have 5600 kbs broadband. Keep up the good work.

This appears to be something I'd like to dabble with --now for those of us who sometimes forget where the keyboard is, just where are these settings found?

Hi Quack- I'm back, after being down for repairs. I see you've been doing some very nice skins. We now have a great collection of DRI's! The model is by Dagaith. I inherited it from him with permission (and his request) to continue development. It is still beta, but I am doing skins while the bits and nits are worked out. It will be in DL but I cannot promise when. My 3dMax skills are limited and I have only an early version of the sw.

I am confused a bit here. This is a very good looking skin, and obviously a lot went into the making of it. Is this a depiction of a plane that actually flew, or is this a creation for OFF? sinbad
