About lizardgun

  1. Superb, thanks for all your great work so far
  2. ) Fair enough, although as I bought SF2E only a few weeks ago it came with the Feb 2010 patch already applied. Still, the 'sensitive' flight model isn't too bad now that I've been flying it for a few days. In fact, if anything, it feels more realistic than many of the games default flight models, which seem very forgiving.
  3. Thanks for the warning on the patches, is there any way to tell whether the version of NF4+ I downloaded includes the F-16 flight model that is compatible with Feb 2010 version of SF2E?
  4. Thanks for the info, I have been flying in hard mode so I guess what I'm experiencing is what the mod maker(s) intended. I guess I'm just going to have a to be a lot more gentle with the stick.
  5. Hi all I've been thoroughly enjoying the extra goodness that NF4+ brings to SF2E recently, but I'm concerned/confused over the F-16A flight model. Its a Mirage Factory addon and would appear to be incredibly twitchy... the end result being lots of mid-air stalls and flat spins. Now, it might just be that my flying style needs to adjust after playing with the default aircraft for too long (which I suspect having played other flight sims) have a very 'noob friendly' flight model. But part of me is worried that the addon didn't install correctly? Does anybody else have any feedback on the flight model of this addon? Cheers Lizard
  6. Sorry for the double post, but I couldn't see an edit button to update my previous post. Anyway, here's the update: Using Catpack.exe I found viewlist.ini in FlightData.cat and it would appear to have several references to FOV in it. Now if only it wasn't the weekend (and so I don't have access to multiple monitors) :(
  7. Ooo, tell me more , that sounds very promising. I've had a dig around for viewlist.ini but can't find it in any of the SF2 directories...
  8. You should be able to get it working in Windows 7 SkippyBing. I found a few mins today to try out SF2V on an ATI Radeon HD 5870 connected to two 30in monitors. Nothing worked in extended desktop, but when grouped together SF2 did render across both monitors at 5,120 x 1600 Unfortunately, rather than adding more viewspace either side of the cockpit the game by default simply stretched the image horizontally, so that for example all the dials were ovals instead of circles. I did manage to minimise this distortion by manually editing options.ini and increasing the aspect ratio, but even then the view was only a tiny bit wider than on a single monitor (I could see approx 1in more cockpit spars on either side)... I'm at a bit of loss to explain why there wasn't significantly more viewable area, but I guess its because despite having an adjustable aspect ratio, SF2 has a fixed FOV. I'm still keen to try it on a triple-monitor setup though :)
  9. Thanks romflyer. If I have time I might try and bring my copy of SF2V into my office in the next few days and try it out on one of our multi-monitor workstations (they're not triplehead2go though) and see if anything happens.
  10. I was wondering if anybody has tried any of the SF2 games with multiple displays/monitors? If so I've love to hear what your experiences were. i.e. does the view properly expand while in cockpit allowing you to see much further to the left and right of the cockpit (really handy for dogfighting). i.e. can you assign different parts of the game view to different monitors, e.g. the moving map display, radar etc
  11. Could you explain more about 'feels like crap'? I don't have a G940 but have been thinking about getting one recently, and this sounds very off-putting... to put it mildly
