  1. I found it when I was searching desperately for any information, anywhere, for any F-102 when I first started updating Razbam's. Same problem, worked perfectly.
  2. Cliff11, thanks for this; Razbam's F-102A uses this technique to animate the fold-down gunsight (mainly, I think, as a weapons bay "indicator"), but until I read this I didn't really understand how it worked. I've now been able to animate a lot of stuff in the cockpit that wasn't working before. That's two things you've helped me out with on that plane; your rudder fix for Veltro2K's old F-102 worked on this one, too. Thanks again.
  3. Tomcats, too. It would almost fit TK's tendency to cover what no-one else covers.
  4. For those of you in the North East

Can somebody tell me when we started naming snowstorms? Winter Storm Nemo?
  5. Hero, just watched your latest (Mig-19, Red Squadron) video, lots of fun, very enjoyable. Couple of things, though. In your first engagement, when you said "I don't think this guy knows I'm here.", that is not the time to switch to guns, because, repeat after me: " The only time I will ever hit a target with an Atoll is if he doesn't know I'm there." Self explanatory, no? The other thing is, you are still just "chasing the cones", pulling on the pole and bleeding way too much energy in pure persuit. At about 23:30 in the video, you mention that flying the MiG-19 allows you to out-turn just about anything out there, just then one of those "heavy American fighters" pulls and flies right out of your field of view. The reason why the SuperSabre is able to do that lies in the fact that you were looking at his aircraft from almost a right angle; almost a full plan view, as it were. Whenever you are looking at an enemy aircraft from that aspect, that close, it's a dead giveaway that you cannot get on his tail just by pulling harder. You could be flying a TIE Fighter and it still wouldn't work! That's why the series of articles I suggested to you that you didn't read is called "It's all a matter of perspective", IT IS. Everything in the game of WVR aerial combat is about what you're looking at, and more importantly, how you're looking at it. Listen, I really enjoy your videos, (I don't even know how to make those ) but you will enjoy making them alot more if you don't have to say "I'm probably going to die before this is over." in every one. Read those articles! I can't stress how much better a sim pilot they will make you. Alright, I'll shut up now, keep up the good work!
  6. Why do you want to use the old rails? You can have a four Phoenix pallet loadout as the plane now stands.
  7. Now wait a minute...I'm supposed to just forget "that collection of parts that is the Hornet"; "the Cyrano de Bergerac nosed Eagle"? Oh no no...I am sorry madam, but you hit the nail too close to the head on both of those for me to let it go. The one thing that still sticks in my craw, above all else, is that the Viper, the Eagle, the Warthog, Et Al, are still in the inventory and the Tomcat is not...I could still strangle Dick Cheney in his sleep for that one.
  8. Normaly, Intercept and Combat Air Patrol use the AirToAir Loadout, AirToAirLongRange is used by Fighter Sweep and Escort. Listen, take your time here, Attack is basicly close air support, Strike is what it says, and SEAD is a great way to get your b***s blown off unless you're carrying the right ordnance and play it the right way. There's loads of fun to be had before you decide to become dead-eye dick Wild Weasel pilot, but, you know, whatever floats your boat.
  9. Pilot94, do you have a weapons pack installed? If not, refer to my post above; it's not that the weapons won't load, you don't have the weapons. If you have a pack that includes them, you must fly in 1985 or later for the R-27R and 1987 or later for the R-73M1. Check the Data ini.s of the missiles in question.
  10. There are no R-73s or R-27s in the stock game, if you want to use them, you're gonna need a Weapons Pack (Ordnance Shop II, in the downloads section). There are other Packs, and most of them are recommended, but for sheer scope, that one should be your starting point. Later, you should d'load some of the hi-def packs, but this should get you going.
  11. Well, I've figured out how to get the armament panel to match FSX "fangs out" as here: http://combatace.com/topic/76262-speaking-of-razbam-how-about-the-f-102/page__st__20 Very soon.
  12. DA, I've got the MirageIIIC, IIIOA, and the F-8E (FN) Crusader.
  13. Upgrades and Such to CombatACE

Yeah, it doesn't seem to be working at all.
  14. Agree completely; patience must be a virtue (of necessesity).
  15. You can just leave the radar in search, it'll automaticaly switch to TWS when it needs to.
  16. Check out this missile performance tool I found online: http://www.ecf.utoronto.ca/~pavacic/missiles/minizap.zip This one kinda resembles the ThirdWire Weapons Editor. Very cool.
  17. Thanks, buddy. I just pretty much found it all on Wiki, with some brain stretching, and an on-line calculator. (Eyes glazed over!) Natural logarithm. I cut out of three years of math classes to avoid this stuff, now I can't have fun without it. Life is just not fair!
  18. Okee-dokee, given that math is not my strong suit, I had skipped working out the formula given in the first post and went straight for the tool; however I just tried the formula and it doesn't seem correct even for the example given. The formula is: Delta V=10xSpecific Impulsex(initial weight/final weight)in M/S. So plugging in the author's numbers we get: Delta V=10x245x(335/(335-132))in M/S. Or 10x245x(335/203)in M/S. Or, 10x245x1.65=4042.5 M/S, not 1227 as the author states. Am I screwing this up somehow, (wouldn't be the first time)? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  19. Thanks, Paulo. I left the other lods in so you could rem them out, or not, as you wished. Looking foward to this. Thanks again.
  20. paulo, if you read the Ultimate read-me, most of reasons/rationales behind changing file names are in there; F-102A production ended in late '58 early '59 so the whole idea of naming versions (60) or (69) is rediculous-all F-102A's were already flying. Production consisted of a very few F-102A's, (no tailhook), about 550 (plus or minus) Case X Wing aircraft, and about 338 or so Case XX Wings. All aircraft after Serial No. 56-1317 thru end of production were Case XX Wing aircraft. The problem is I can't find a source that breaks down Squadrons/Serial Nos., so I have no idea which Sqdrn's flew Case X's and which flew Case XX's. I don't know, flip a coin? In any event, please use the ini.'s in my pack as the ones in yours don't always match. Here also is the AIM-4F (somehow left it out) and a Loadout ini. for all Deuces. Any questions, please ask.
