  1. Hoo boy, why can't I leave well enough alone... I swear, it's the rept-alien nanomorphs living in my brain... Anyway, arthur it seems you have more fuel to get this peeg up there; a lot more. I don't know why, something nagging but I did some checking around and found that the fuel situation on this plane is completely fubared. Both Joe Baugher's site and Wiki (and a few other places) give a maximum internal fuel load of 1085 gallons US, or 4107 LTRs (this last number is given in the cockpit ini. as 100% for the FuelIndicator which is supposed to read in LBs.). Also, I couldn't find any references to 360 gallon drop tanks, all were to 230 gallon (except for Wiki, which said 215, close enough ), PLUS the F-102 did not have the MA-1 FCS, instead the MG-3, and later MG-10 Fire Control Systems were fitted. I'll address the FCS issue in another post, for now, this is what I've come up with for the fuel situation: For the cockpit ini.: [FuelIndicator] Type=INETERNAL_FUEL_QUANTITY_INDICATOR NodeName=VSI Needle04 MovementType=ROTATION_Y ValueUnit=LB Set[01].Position=0.0 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=44.46 Set[02].Value=1100.25 Set[03].Position=88.74 Set[03].Value=2200.5 Set[04].Position=134.56 Set[04].Value=3301.75 Set[05].Position=180 Set[05].Value=4401.0 Set[06].Position=-135 Set[06].Value=5501.25 Set[07].Position=-88 Set[07].Value=7335.0 For the Data ini.: [FuselageFuelCell] SystemType=FUEL_TANK FuelTankID=1 MaxFuelAmount=690.0 SelfHealing=TRUE FireSuppression=TRUE MinExtentPosition=-0.30, 6.00, 0.20 MaxExtentPosition=0.30,-1.00, 0.90 [LeftFrontFuelCell] SystemType=FUEL_TANK FuelTankID=2 MaxFuelAmount=453.0 SelfHealing=FALSE FireSuppression=FALSE MinExtentPosition=-0.80, 1.00,-0.20 MaxExtentPosition=-2.20,-0.40, 0.05 [RightFrontFuelCell] SystemType=FUEL_TANK FuelTankID=3 MaxFuelAmount=453.0 SelfHealing=FALSE FireSuppression=FALSE MinExtentPosition=0.80, 1.00,-0.20 MaxExtentPosition=2.20,-0.40, 0.05 [LeftFuelCell] SystemType=FUEL_TANK FuelTankID=4 MaxFuelAmount=870.0 SelfHealing=FALSE FireSuppression=FALSE MinExtentPosition=-0.80,-1.40,-0.20 MaxExtentPosition=-3.60,-4.40, 0.05 [RightFuelCell] SystemType=FUEL_TANK FuelTankID=5 MaxFuelAmount=870.0 SelfHealing=FALSE FireSuppression=FALSE MinExtentPosition=0.80,-1.40,-0.20 For the drop tanks: The ini.: [WeaponData] ObjectFullName=230-gal Drop Tank ObjectDataFile=F-102_external Tanks_data.INI [LOD001] Filename=F-102_external Tanks.LOD Distance=300 [shadow] CastShadow=FALSE For the tank Data ini.: [WeaponData001] TypeName=F-102_external Tanks FullName=230-gal Drop Tank ModelName=F-102_external Tanks Mass=810.00 Diameter=0.670000 Length=6.220000 SubsonicDragCoeff=0.200000 SupersonicDragCoeff=0.770000 AttachmentType= SpecificStationCode= NationName= StartYear=0 EndYear=0 Availability=0 BaseQuantity=0 Exported=FALSE ExportStartYear=0 ExportEndYear=0 ExportAvailability=0 WeaponDataType=5 MaxFuelAmount=706.40 Asymmetrical=FALSE With 4 Falcons and 2 drop tanks this brings you in at 31,360 LBs, just under the Max Takeoff Weight of 31,500 LBs AND should give a lot more Time-on-Target. Well, off to try and find non-existant information on 55 year old Fire Control Systems...Merry Christmas all.
  2. Anyone See This Movie Trailer?

If only I didn't hate Cruise so much...
  3. Plus, phone numbers! Can you picture that conversation? " Hi, this is, um, ravenclaw, I'm re-creating your pod for an air-combat flight sim, do you suppose you could furnish some information on frequencies, power, things of that nature? How it would actualy affect operations in a high-threat enviornment? Thank you, any help would be greatly appreciated." LOL!
  4. Took a look; not seeing the graphic artifact, I'm on July2012, how bout you?
  5. arthur, just replaced the existing entries for HydraulicPressureGauge with that. Hadn't seen the graphic thingy; misaligned FakePilot add-on, maybe? Have to take a look.
  6. Got it too and it is sweet, but...ahh the inevitable but. I noticed two issues so far, one minor and one not-so-minor. Not so minor first: The aircraft starts at only 75% fuel. In the Data ini., under Fuselage you'll find SystemName[020]=FuselageFuel, change it to SystemName[020]=FuselageFuelCell and, voila you'll have 100% fuel at the start. The other, minor, issue is the HydraulicPressureGuage is inoperative. I don't think the game has coding for hydraulic pressure in the first place, the closest thing I could find is in the new Viper pits, which use the OIL_PRESSURE_INDICATOR callout, for what it's worth, here's what I'm using in the cockpit ini.: [HydraulicPressureGauge] Type=OIL_PRESSURE_INDICATOR NodeName=Hyd_press_Needle MovementType=ROTATION_Y ValueUnit=PSI ItemNumber=1 Set[01].Position=0.0 Set[01].Value=0.0 Set[02].Position=85.0 Set[02].Value=20.0 Set[03].Position=170.0 Set[03].Value=30.0 Set[04].Position=230.0 Set[04].Value=40.0 Set[05].Position=260.0 Set[05].Value=60.0 Set[06].Position=-40.0 Set[06].Value=80.0 Set[07].Position=-15.0 Set[07].Value=100.0 Obviously it's not really showing hydraulic pressure, but it does look better than a dead needle . If anyone finds anything else, post away.
  7. Go get em', boys. These were well worth it at the old price, even w/out the range/course markers.
  8. Unfortunately, no. This has caused much wailing and gnashing of teeth, not least by me. It wasn't implemented in the 3D model.
  9. PC, only if you're using an exe. that you've copied and renamed in the main install folder,(C:/Program Files...) as when making an exclusive mod folder(NatoFighters5, Vietnam Expansion Pack) you must copy and rename the ini. file of the exe. that you've used for the mod. LoadingScreen is called out in that ini. file. By the way, what patch level are you using?
  10. +1...If Sparrows worked as good as these look you'd only need...one.
  11. Also, if it's a renamed exe., make sure to copy and rename the ini. file also, as that's where LoadingScreen=Menu\InitScreen.BMP is called out. Without that, it won't work.
  12. Hey saisran, from the looks of that screenshot of your VDI, you've got a stray TGA. floating around in your cockpit folder. Find VDI TGA. and either stick it in the Pre SF2NA folder or just delete it. All the VDI symbology should be ThirdWire White.
  13. Look at the same entry Raven showed you...Set[02]Value should be 15770, not the original (from SF1) 10000. You'd have to burn off 5770 pounds of fuel before the needle moved. That would take a lot of patience.
  14. Find the Korea ini. file in the Korea Terrain folder and reverse the entries for Longitude and Latitude.
  15. I knew there had to be a reason I cut outta work today! Thanks Wrench and the whole KAW team!
  16. Ah well, I think you're right, Heck. I just checked and the A-5's windscreen is flat. The read-me says the E-10 is the first w/a flat windscreen, so I guess it is an E in disguise. Still, it does have all or most of the pertinent squadron skins so it is a decent placeholder. If you want them I re-folderized them for SF2, just say the word. As far as the tunes go, if you could just give me the name of the site, I do have a sound file converter. I guess there's no time like the present to practice using it.
  17. I'm sure you guys know this (Dave was the uploader), but there's an A model Sabre in the SF1 D/L section, here: http://combatace.com...y-model-sabres/ .You just need to add the SF1 f4e_attitudeBMP. to the cockpit folder to make the magnetic compass work. I know this is for SF1, but they look and fly pretty good, at least 'til the new ones come out in two weeks. Heck, if you could upload those tunes as a pack, it would be much appreciated (one of my many weak spots).
  18. Icarus999 said something similar, but only in menu screens, which makes me think he may need to disable AA too.
  19. Centurion-1, I also had to install to my 1)Main, 2)ModFlight, and 3)ModMenu folders, same as you. My Main install is on a different (F:) drive than default; yours too? I wonder if that's why some of us only need it in Flight and others in Flight and Menu. What about the rest of you guys? Are your Main installs on C:?
  20. Did anyone else have to set AntiAliasing to 0 in the Options ini.?
