  1. tiopilotos, compare the data ini's, it looks like the "white one" might be missing entries for the sustainer moter.
  2. Looks like you're missing the HUD, RADAR, and RWR folders from the cockpit folder. They contain all the TGA.'s for those functions.
  3. Good News From The Doc

Close shave, glad to hear you're O.K.
  4. What OS? In XP look in My Documents. Since you said users, I'm assuming Vista/7. In either case, you don't have to create any new folders. When you run the game for the first time the "mod" folders are created in the SAVED GAMES folder. Funny thing is, they aren't actually called mod folders. Just Strike Fighters2, Strike Fighters2 Vietnam, etc. Those are the folders you need to drop those Tomcats into. Believe me, it's not more of a pita, just different. SF2 really has a much better, more logical layout. Let us know how it works out.

Spam, Spam, Sausage, eggs, FLOPPIES???, and, Spam?

Ya know,...IT'S NOT FUNNY! (wink) Ah, yes it is, but... In a lot of places you'll see questions like: What company contributed the most to the (WW2) war effort? (What company won the war for the allies?) The answers are usually: North American Aviation(P_51D), Boeing(B-17,29), Vought(F4_U Corsair),General Motors(M-4 Sherman), Grumman(F6-F Hellcat, TBF Avenger), Kaiser(Liberty Ships[close]),etc, etc, but...drumroll please, the company that literally won the war was...the Hormel company (Spam). Your comments will be much appreciated.
  7. Alright Wrench, figures it'd be you to catch me out on something.
  8. O.K. Probably gonna p@@s alot of people off here. I was really enjoying this thread at first, and I realize I am what some people would consider a newbie. OTH I'm probably older than most of you and did some time in the Infantry(cue the music),so maybe I'm a little more comfortable with being a mushroom(kept in dark, sh@t on),than most of you, too. TK don't have to tell us sh@t. There, I said it. Shoot Me. Nobody here, and Stary was the closest,(why Tomcat), is looking through the correct end of the telescope here. Has TK ever made an SF2 fantasy game? AFIK the answer is a big, fat, no. So, the question none of you are asking is, why,in RL did the Tomcat exist? The short answer is to prevent a Soviet breakout into the North Atlantic by the combined forces of the Soviet Airforce and Navy. Protecting our carrier task forces was a means to this end, not an end in itself. The Soviet strategy was to rush the GIUK gap with a massive quantity of land-based (missle carrying)bomber aircraft and naval surface action groups in as short a time as possible, overwhelm any NATO assets in the area, and cut the vital shipping lanes to the UK. So Lexx, no MiG's based in Scotland, however, a certain UK Phantom DLC? In Scotland? You think? Intruders? Soviet Naval surface action groups? You Think? Multitargetable rader? These things are required to Sim the RL situation both as it was envisioned and asTK has simmed RL before. AS Martin Luthor said, HERE I STAND I CANNOT DO OTHERWISE! You may now let loose with the usual sh@tstorm. Thank you.
  9. Think about it, if you posit multitargetable air to air rader, and as Murphy's said, in a Tomcat sim it's practicaly a given, the rader has to be slewable,(how else to "lock up" widely separated targets?). Since TV textures are based on rader textures, this would imply slewable LGB/Mavericks also. As far as lockable ground rader goes, as Papa Smurf said, this was the domain of the A-6A and its' Diane targeting system. Ask yourself one question, aside from the A-7, what took up more space on deck during the Tomcat's lifetime than the Intruder? I grew up on Long Island, cousins, uncles, etc, that worked at Grumman, (and Republic) as engineers, lineworkers, etc. If anybody here (including Dave) thinks they're waitin' harder on this particular pony than I am, they're sadly mistaken. And to those who doubt TK's marketing genius, why does this thread resemble an anthill someone poked a stick into?
  10. They're certainly pushing some "buttons" now.
  11. The tank texture you're looking for is in Object Data Cat 009. Extract it. Do with it what I said yesterday.(Put it in the "skin",texture, decal, whatever you want to call it folder), and, voila, enjoy no black tanks! Like magic! Only a day late.
  12. You have to put tank texture bmp's(or jpg's) into each "skin"(texture?) folder just like hangar screens (in October patch).
  13. Make a copy of SF2:E, rename it NF4+,(or whatever),RUN IT (to create the mod folder),and apply the NATO4+ files to that.
  14. PureBlue,Genius! I check Single mission screen, no dates but 1990. Change aircraft start date to 1991. Check single mission screen and Tiald is there. Genius! Start game and...BSOD! WTF?
