1. Aaarrgh Pups! Those bloody Brits - lure us new Albatros pilots into a false sense of competency with unguarded B.E2s . . . and then hit us with Pups! Nice shot there, Mack - your bird looks very unique from that underneath angle. Hope you survived that bun-fight! Welcome theultimat, good to see you here - hope to read more from your RFC-54 campaign (post at 'reports from the front') - good plane, good time (1916), but watch those landings at dusk - they don't put flares out to show you where to land, and on a dark night . . . Bienvenue to the French Air Service, Monsieur Olham! Enjoy the sea-air there at Koksijde. Are those tanks you found there in your N.11 - I didn't think they were around that early (!?)
2. Well here's my new Albatros ride - Jasta 6, October 1916. Not as cool looking as Mack's perhaps - but just as lethal for Bees! .
3. Never mind, Duke - it's good to see your new paintjob (almost) in action! It certainly looks the business. Now if Flieger Duke invests as much time in the cockpit as his ground crew have in the paintshop, all should be well!
4. Maybe I wasn't looking

. . . just checked and I think I have 'captured' one just below my rudder in this shot (?) . . . and (looking even closer) another one just leaving the gun (?) .
5. Maybe I wasn't looking

I noticed similar little grey strips just behind my B.E2 in ss from a recent scrap (also against Einies), but thought it must've just been debris from the Einie that I'd flown thru. If they are spent shell cases, I'm like you Mack and haven't ever noticed them before. But that is very cool!
6. Great shot, Macklroy - never seen N.11s look so BIG!

Welcome aboard, Trackpad! If you check the post below (RAFLouvert's 4000th post) - you'll see we're all just back from a bender in Amiens (groan!), but just to be sociable we should maintain the traditions - like new guys buying a round! So I'll have a Lowenbrau (seeing as you're kitted out in the Kaiser's livery) - and here's to you ridding the eastern skies of one more pesky B.E2.
8. My 4000th Post!

Amiens it is! Well done, Lou - a refreshing ale would go down a treat. And many thanks for your 'pearls' on this forum (and isn't it just ducky when you can match medal ribbons with your hair-ties!)
9. Standard-built Pup

Best wishes to those stout fellows - their's is a noble quest, to be sure!
10. Ah well that explains quite a lot. I could see you were climbing steeply at times and struggling to maintain your aim (but it's hard to get a sense of elevation and attitude from a video). I also initially was surprised you were firing from such an apparent distance, but then I re-watched on full-screen and it didn't seem so far. And I was surprised the Tripes didn't turn you inside out - as you say they were very 'boom and zoom' in their approach - which maybe because they had the height advantage (?) Do you have your guns on 'normal' or 'less accurate'? Thanks again for posting your vid!
11. Good show, Olham. Very nice to be able to see you in action. I'm impressed you can so readily identify your individual wingmen at a glance - do they all have individualised skins too?
12. Welcome to OFF Huginn. Like Creaghorn says, for a modest outlay now you can join us over Flanders fields by just getting BH&H. You'll get your money's worth after a month or two, and then (unless P4 release suddenly becomes imminent) you can convince yourself that HiTR is also a worthwhile investment. Either way, you can't lose!
13. It's only been 'home' for a few days, but Abeele (just west of Bailleul and Poperinghe) is in a nice spot - hemmed in by a couple of small woods, produce farms and a little stream off the east end of the landing strip - with Bailleul town and a cluster of other airfields nearby. This shot is looking ESE towards Bailleul town, October 1915. .
14. Fere-en-Tardenois, the Marne - home of Esc. SOP7, January 1917. Not as 'walled-in' as Elephant's, but still doesn't tempt you to just let your kite 'fly itself off' . . . .
15. Which key command for gunsight?

shoes ?!? surely you are wearing long wool-lined boots, Olham!
16. That description sounds very much like my French 'Strutere' pilot's home field at Fere-en-Tardenois (Marne). Will post a pic later.
17. Interesting little clip, Lewie. Anyone know what they were actually doing with those bombs - and why they looked like they are in backwards (ie with the fins/stabilisers facing the front of the plane?) - apologies for my ignorance if this is common knowledge for you WWI aviation veterans.
18. I've got my TrackIR 'hat clip' attached to the headphones I wear for computer games anyway (as I mostly 'fly' late at night when family members are asleep) - no need to 'dress-up' with baseball caps or any other additional (or unseasonal) head-wear!

Oh and congrats on your success so far, Lewie.
19. "Optional Flight" in Briefing screen?

What Beard says. You get the same mission type (eg balloon-bust, lone wolf, recce), but will get a different target destination - and, where applicable, other changes like whether yours is #1 or #2 flight, whether you get (or provide) an escort, but most importantly - as Beard says - whether it is close by or miiles away. Of course, with Lone wolf or scramble missions, you don't see any change - but presumably the OFF manager is shuffling waypoints or details of the attacking EA respectively. For all others, you see the changes (and can make appropriate fuel load-out adjustments if you have that option setup) before 'accepting'.
20. Nice shot, Olham - with your spandaus and virtual camera!
21. British Campaign

Having campaigned the Bristol Scout a bit, I must say I quite like it as it is. Yes, the gun mounting is 'weird' compared with everything else in OFF, but I like that - and more importantly, it is historically accurate (in that at least some were configured in this manner) and it is currently the only plane in OFF that lets you appreciate the technology advantage the Germans had during the 'Fokker Scourge'. Folks wanting a 'Lewis-over' early war scout can choose the N.11. IMHO, the less credible MG 'arrangement' currently in OFF is the B.E2c. I'd nominate that one for P4 'review', before tampering with the Bristol Scout.
22. Sweeeeet very nice work, Olham
23. I recently flew for RFC-8 in a B.E2c. Not at Chipilly at that time tho (June 1915). RFC 9 is also in OFF as a bomber sqd I think.
24. Time Zone Converter

I thought for a moment you were going to go for the "floating in the air like bricks don't " quote.
25. Time Zone Converter

Ah Olham, you are truly a knowledgable fellow! Mid-evening on a chilly late-Autumn evening for me . . . and time to get off this forum, and up 'over Flanders fields' Tailly Ho! ps. hope you have a nice lunch!
