And therein lies the problem. You can't simply go out there and make a game just for the "hardcore simmers" and expect it to sell well. Even if there are no bugs, and everything else has the perfect balance (ie graphics to performance), if the game is so complex that you can't sit down, and in a few hours, have at least a basic understanding of what you're doing, then the sim simply won't sell. While it may certainly appeal to those hardcore simmers, they represent a vocal but small fraction of the market. They just can't support the market by themselves. And that is what makes modeling sims so hard. You need to be able to dull it down to make it fun for beginners, but also be able to up all the settings to ultra-realistic for those hardcore of us. That, I think, is why there have been very, very few complaints with the Microsoft FS series. It's got all the abilities of real flying, while also being able to dull it down and let some noob going blasting through the sky at Mach 2 in a 737. And it's got eye candy to go along with it. Now, granted, it's not a combat sim, but it illustrates the point.

Anything and everything. I've finally got the computer to fly solely by VC, so I want to use it to it's full extent :)

Hmm... too bad we can't read the article. Can anyone post what it said, even if it's what we all already know?

I'm glad you got that expereince, Trooper. I remember I went through a similar situation when I first flew. Now I'm working on my instrument training, and, although I havn't done any intense FS flying in years, I can definatly feel how much that has helped my skills. As for trim, yes, definatly get good at that if you're going to do any instrument flying, lol.

Tell us how you really feel... lol. Good comments

Have a safe tour, Nesher. Here's hoping you don't see any action.

Here's the story: I had just driven up a path in a buggy, when I came across some mercenaries. I jumped out to take care of them, and, in the middle of the fire fight, I hear the buggy start up. I think, ok, one of the mercs must have gotten around me and started up the buggy. Desperate to keep him from using the gun on me (since I would have been very open to it's fire), I turn around to shoot the guy. This is what I saw. LMAO And to add to the hilariousness of this picture, after i had cleaned up all the remaining mercs, I tried to go back over to the buggy to take some more/better pics. Instead, as I start going toward the buggy, the pig decides it doesn't want any pictures taken, so it starts driving the buggy around It nearly ran me over before it got stuck and jumped out

Nice... I like that Corsair skin! Someone should repaint a corsair like this: http://bonzai-mods.com/project_images/Satd...-ford-coupe.jpg -
You could try Strike Fighters. Lot's of people here are into that game.

I saw a few of those planes before... specifically that P-47 at an Omaha AFB show.

Sweet. Hey, everybody! post that you want desktops as 1280x1024, even if you won't use it! lol
-
The only thing that keeps me from using them is the lack of 1280x1024. I've tried using the 1600x1200, but it just doesn't look right. Is there anyway we could get that resolution?

Check out some of these. Especially the WWII ones. The stories are amazing. http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/moh1.htm EDIT: One of my favorites is BAKER, THOMAS A. Check it out.
