  1. I had the old Saitek X-36 stick and throttle. Back then about 4 years ago, (it just died last month), it was about $100 even. My girlfriend got me a new X-45 for X-mas, but wont let me open it yet! Anyways, the 36 model was a solid setup, and I enjoyed it thuroughly. I hope the 45 will be better. My only complaint is that little pinkee switch at the bottom as I have big hands. Anyone have a suggestion?
  2. Phillipines map is sweet! Love the M-1! I htink that would be a good all around addition for when one plays as a US Army engineer instead of only Pacific maps.
  3. Dammit, just when my HOTAS broke, all the new stuff comes out. Clouds, LOMAC, among other things.... I had an X-36 Saitek, it's served me well over 4 years. /Plays taps
  4. I showed my girlfriend the A-10 and the Nellis air show last weekend. She freaked out when I explained thta the Gat-Gun shot Depleted Uranium. If fact I think she might have shat a golden egg, but not sure.
  5. Ef2000 And Xp?

I have actually tried that a few months ago, but no luck. There doesn't seem to be a patch available either.
  6. Wrong Kill (cartoon)

    LOL! Nice one. <S!>
  7. I Finnaly Get To Learn About What My

My Grandapa was 6'8 (no joke), and no branch would take him untill he got drafted when the war started. He ended up in a Combat Eng. outfit in N. Africa after Patton came in as CO. He fought with the Big Red 1, 3rd I.D. (Audie Murphy's outfit), thru N. Africa up into Italy/ Sicily, then swung around in '44 to England for D-day. This is no joke. All I have from him is 2 ribbons: 1 for good conduct and the other is the ETO combat ribbon with 7 battle stars. I also have a piece of scrap paper with location and dates in his writing. His brother was in the Navy before the war started, was captured in the Phillipines, and was in the Battaan death march. He survived and was liberated in Japan after the war was over. My uncle on my grannie's side was in the PTO (inf) and fought on Corregador, and Guadalcanal. He is the only one still alive today. The others died from smoking when I was little. I wish they were here today, but I guess they live on thru us. We just have to make sure that we will rise to our country's call when the time comes. My dad did, his dad did, and I did too.
  8. Hi guys, I was at the Nellis AFB Airshow yesterday, and got to have a word with some CAP folks. I was wondering if anyone that lurks in the forums here would be a CAP'er in Las Vegas. I think if I got into it again, I'd be doing it for the flight time. I haven't been in the cockpit in 3 years! And whats worse, is my HOTAS just busted.
  9. Hi everyone, I just wanted to get this out, that there is an airshow at Nellis AFB this weekend, where the Thunderbirds are performing for their 50th anniversary. It should be a good show, and admission is free, so if you aren't doing anything this weekend and you live in or around the Las Vegas area, I don't think this is one to pass up. I'll be there!
  10. Thunderbirds' 50th Anniversary @ Nellis Afb

VegasBob hit the nail on the head. The Thunderbirds were good, but b/c of the crash earlier on, they had really seemed to water down the performance in terms of major stunts. Yet, as always since I was a kid, they made me feel patriotic. The other demos were great. It was my first time seeing Unlimited Formula 1 in the air. All Mustangs racing around pylons, and when they flew by; just the sound of those souped up Merlins made me shiver. Sean Tucker, the top arobatic pilot in the U.S. was an absolute hoot. I had seen him a couple years back when I was living in Maryland- always a great show with him. The modern jet demos were just great as always, but my biggest thrill was getting a firsthand look at the new JSF and F-22. They were a hell of alot smaller than I though they would be, but hella impressive all the same.
  11. Howdy everyone... I kinda asked about this before, but couldn't figure it out. How can one save the citation & medal pic in ms paint? Is ther a way to make a mod to show medals earned?? If so please drop me a line. I've never made mods before but would like to start. I emailed TK about it, and he said that there IS no medal screen, that the manual was out of date. I asked him about it coming on the second patch, but no response. (oh well). Someone please tell me. Laters
  12. Thanks for the info, I'll give it a shot. So far from what I remember getting in the game was 1 MOH, 2 Silver Stars, 3 DFC's, and a buttload of Air Medals. It's alot of fun for me b/c I never got that stuff in real life, let alone flew fighters! I was fooling around with the extractor prog, and eventually made this. medals.doc
  13. Hey Cowboy, The reason it pisses me off is that I got the MOH 2 days ago for a fighter sweep. (Seriously, not kidding, I really got it). I never recieved one of those when I was in the service.... I'd sure like to see it from time to time, even tho this is a game. :)
  14. I've tried that and it doesn't work. The screen just goes on the the next mission when a key is pressed. :(
  15. A Navy Joke.....

OK, ok, I got a couple good ones... What do you call a bunch of 2nd LT's standing around in a circle? A dope ring! Why did the 2nd LT write TGIF on his boots? It means Toes Go In First! HAHAHAHAHA This one time, I asked a 2nd Looie for some headlight fluid and he fell for it! He said "I'm sorry Corperal, the supply Sgt. said he was all out. I guess you'll have to find something else." - dumbass Oh, the laughter! Comedy goldmine!

  17. Yes, much thanks and kudos to the guys that made the game, and of course to all the modders out there. You guys are great.
  18. Hello all, I've been a SFP1 fan since day one, and I've gotten alot from the game & mods, but when I finish a mission and get a Silver Star or Navy Cross etc, the is no way to view the award & citation in the pilot records screen. There's not even an option! Anyone have an idea? Maybe re-install? Thanks.
  19. stevechester, Funny you mentioned that! I tried it after the fist patch came out, but it didn't work. When I finish a mission, and there's an award, I hit prnt scrn key and it just cycles thru to the next screen!! Ain't that sooo crazy?!?!?! Oh, wait, I forgot to check the MS paint folder. Thanks man!
  20. If you're having CFS3 probs, then first get the patch and update ALL of your drivers. Along with that, go to Google and type in "CFS3 mods", it will return with a couple of sites that have all update and tips info on how to get it working on smooth order. I can't remember the names of the sitets tho, but the results are really good. I bought the game on the release date and was heavily diappointed w/ it, but a few months later (and some research added) I found the sites and re-bought to game (on sale this time) and with the patch along side of the mods & tips that other people had, I found it really enjoyable so far. Good luck w/ that.
  21. :x I'm pist...... I just want you guys to know the CFS3 blows chunks. Buggy as all hell. It's got a great idea w/ possibilities, and maybe the modders will fix the probs, but right now, a few hours after buying and trying to play this infernal P.O.S., don't get it. It's a waste of time untill a patch comes out. I gave it a whole hearted shot, but it wont work. I just got done uninstalling and I'm going back to return this and get Strike Fighters. Good luck.
  22. Ranger332, I have a x-36 on my rig, and all I had to do is d/l the updated software from the site, as well as use the "Nuke USB" cd... I dont know if it comes w/ the new x-45, but it clears any driver data out of your usb stuff. I hope that works!!
  23. Reply to Bill: Hey man, I've had the same exact thing happen to me: P-4 1.8 gig 256MB RAM Gforce-2 64mb Sb Live Win Xp w/ all update Logitech Optical Wheel Mouse USB keyboard Saitek X-36 HOTAS The teletype crash happens ALL THE TIME, except for whn I cycle thru it. I always get a crash to the desktop if a mission is failed. When I use the drop=down menu on the main screen, it does a crash, but they've all been to the desktop, not a reboot. Oh, aqnd one more thing... In the pilot records screen, you can't see what medals you earned from other missions.
