About voyd

  1. OT: I've Done It!

I'd say go for ARMA 2 + Operation Arrowhead (ARMA 2 Combined Operations)... get the two content expansions if you want extra content (British Armed forces adds more than Private Military Contractors, but I picked them both up on Steam during the Xmas sale so that I could play the latest Flashpoint dynamic missions.) Be sure to hit up the official forum (http://forums.bistud...display.php?f=9) and Armaholic (http://www.armaholic.com/) for all of the latest & greatest user-based content (maps, mods, missions, etc). If you have TrackIR or FreeTrack then you'll have even more immersion. I'll be honest, I really didn't play the campaigns or the stock missions as there are tonnes of user content available that always keeps me entertained. I've also been known to spend hours just tinkering in the editor . Well, that's my $0.02 for whatever its worth.
  2. OT: I've Done It!

A very handsome selection, but may I suggest ARMA 2 et al?
  3. Just be like me and opt for the 2025 model and you won't need the plutonium or road. I'll be seeing you last month!! .
  4. Indra Roy

I'm glad to know the 2nd Lt. made it into the sim... going to start a new career in hopes of getting some kills w/ him. Cheers, Voyd
  5. They there Gents!! I was doing a little research for a project I am working on and I came across Indra Roy, India's only WWI ace. I'd never heard of him nor had the pleasure of reading of his exploits, but double acing in 13 days at the age of 19 while achieving over 170 hours of flight time is impressive indeed!! http://www.theaerodrome.com/aces/india/roy.php Happy Hunting, Voyd
  6. Thanks for the welcome, RAF_Louvert... I'll tell 'em to keep sending fresh glasses your way until you've had your fill. I've been an avid combat sim enthusiast for almost two decades now & am slightly kicking myself for not discovering this gem sooner. Actually, I was about to pony up on the the "other simulation" until I saw OFF mentioned in their forum. I really enjoyed their demo, but the campaign engine OFF offers is what sold me even w/o a test drive!! No regrets at all. I've been running OFF since late Monday evening (picked up HitR yesterday at work) & am looking forward to getting all of my FreeTrack parts in the mail so that I can have a better experience. I'm also thinking about building some rudder bars and a throttle... if I can keep myself out of the cockpit long enough!! Happy Hunting, Gents!! Edit: Forgot to mention that I have the day off today because of all of the power issues at work due to last night's front... the power's on at the apt., so there's no better time to log some hours!!
