  1. Dear Technical Support

Still debating whether to upload this data to my own wife v3.0...
  2. Uh, excuse me Gen. Slavens, what were you doing so close to the ground when your supposed to be flying a desk? :warning2: Yeah, my 4 plane flight got into a beef with 8 SU-27s. Shot them all down, reformed and found two of our number missing... :cray:
  3. My second anniversary soon...

Over 4 years ago I met my wife. It was pretty much love at first site though there are a couple funny moments associated with that 'll save for another time. Two years ago we were married and shortly after we struck out for the wilds in the north country. Its been a real change coming here for both of us and it was probably a big chunk for a newly wed couple to bite and chew. It hasnt always been easy with the cold, finding work, or just getting along. We often find ourselves asking why we came here and why God should lead us here. Well, Ive got a gut feeling I figured it out finally; an epiphany you might say. And its so simple its embarrassing. I wrote it in a poem I plan to give her when we celebrate our anniversary. Before I give it to her, does it make sense to anyone out there in the ether... Across a dark grey sky the clouds scud by, often falls the snow. Outside it rains and is cold, hard the blue wind does blow. Coats, socks, and longjohns, the heaters' flame starts to glow. wools' thick coarse feel, and goosedown we all know. God too is giving us work, enough to get by. Sometimes though it seems our faith, in his wisdom he feels a need to try. I often wonder why we left, to come to this place here. Yet today when I looked deep inside, to be with you, it becomes clear. We werent brought to up north to suffer, grumble, or freeze. We've often asked why, in befuddlement we cry. But Gods answer if we listen is there in the breeze. When we feel lonely in these wide open spaces, often together we cuddle. When the cold winds blow and drafty chills finds places, closer together you and I huddle. Worries and fears, stress and tears, all might seem too much. But they are a part of life dear, tools in Gods hands, this strife, to bring us closer in touch. Love hasnt been easy for me, selfish Ive always been. Ive often had to learn the hard way, its been my struggle to grasp and ken. So its no wonder God uses these hard tools, a simple truth to help us learn. We'll grow closer to him as we learn to love each other, if the wilds up north we do not yet spurn.

  7. File Name: Lavochkin LA-15 "Fantail" Soviet camo skin File Submitter: pcpilot File Submitted: 03 February 2008 File Category: MIG-15 Fagot/LA-15 Fantail Skins This is the "Soviet Camo" skin for the Lavochkin LA-15 "Fantail" aircraft model for Strike Fighters made by Pasko and Column5. I got tired of nothing more then plain metal. This is a fictitious skin using the common Soviet green and grey colors used by many of their WW2 aircraft. I also added gunport stains and modified the decals.ini to add the soviet insignia to the fuselage to more accurately reflect actual Soviet practice. By the way, as an aside...try this plane against the F-86 Sabre, makes for a good matchup ingame. Hope ya like it... Click here to download this file

  11. Georgia supports the navy

Found this little article while at Subsim... Georgia flag makes way toward namesake submarine Its nice when folks support the military like this. Those guys on the USS Georgia will realy appreciate this I think. Southern folks have always had a martial bent and supporting the military has always been a natural thing for them. Well done Georgia...

  15. How many hours?

Most of you guys got me beat by a mile but here goes anyway... Started simming on a friends' 386 playing Aces of the Pacific. Got my own 386 working and got a copy of Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe; best pilot got 60 kills in an ME-109; loved that game, espesially the campaign. Built my own 486 and bought Combat Flight Simulater. Loved the British Battle of Britain missions. The first time I took off in a Spitfire I was in love and never looked back. As for an answer to the first question, time simming is shared with other games like Armed Assault so not a lot, maybe 5 hours a week.
  16. A little something for MLK day...

I'd always been a bit annoyed at all the fuss over the man; naming this or that after him, etc., etc. Most of all the racket seemed too much like political philandering and I think it often is still. But Ive spent a little time here and there trying to learn more about what all the hoopla was about as the years have went by. Of course, no one is perfect, but it was a pleasent surprise to realize here was someone with a lot of courage. He really was intelligent and an inspiration... Some Quotes... All men are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality. Martin Luther King Jr. Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase. Martin Luther King Jr. Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it. Martin Luther King Jr. Human salvation lies in the hands of the creatively maladjusted. Martin Luther King Jr. I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. That is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant. Martin Luther King Jr. I submit that an individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalty of imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest respect for the law. Martin Luther King Jr. In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends. Martin Luther King Jr. It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can stop him from lynching me, and I think that's pretty important. Martin Luther King Jr. Let no man pull you low enough to hate him. Martin Luther King Jr. Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man's sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true. Martin Luther King Jr. Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love. Martin Luther King Jr. Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. Martin Luther King Jr. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars... Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that. Martin Luther King Jr. Segregation is the adultery of an illicit intercourse between injustice and immorality. Martin Luther King Jr. Ten thousand fools proclaim themselves into obscurity, while one wise man forgets himself into immortality. Martin Luther King Jr. We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools. Martin Luther King Jr. When you are right you cannot be too radical; when you are wrong, you cannot be too conservative. Martin Luther King Jr. The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined nonconformists who are dedicated to justice, peace and brotherhood. Martin Luther King Jr., "Strength to Love" All progress is precarious, and the solution of one problem brings us face to face with another problem. Martin Luther King Jr., 'Strength to Love,' 1963 The good neighbor looks beyond the external accidents and discerns those inner qualities that make all men human and, therefore, brothers. Martin Luther King Jr., 'Strength to Love,' 1963 Nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time; the need for mankind to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to oppression and violence. Mankind must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love. Martin Luther King Jr., December 11, 1964 Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Martin Luther King Jr., Letter from Birmingham Jail, April 16, 1963 The church was not merely a thermometer that recorded the ideas and principles of popular opinion; it was a thermostat that transformed the mores of society. Martin Luther King Jr., Letter from Birmingham Jail, April 1963 Now, I say to you today my friends, even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: - 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.' Martin Luther King Jr., Speech at Civil Rights March on Washington, August 28, 1963 I submit to you that if a man hasn't discovered something he will die for, he isn't fit to live. Martin Luther King Jr., Speech in Detroit, June 23, 1963 ...And I've looked over, and I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you, but I want you to know tonight that we as a people will get to the promised land. So I'm happy tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Martin Luther King Jr., Speech in Memphis, April 3, 1968, the day before King was assassinated Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. Martin Luther King Jr., Strength to Love, 1963 Our scientific power has outrun our spiritual power. We have guided missiles and misguided men. Martin Luther King Jr., Strength to Love, 1963 The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. Martin Luther King Jr., Strength to Love, 1963 A little more about him... www.stanford.edu/group/King/ www.seattletimes.nwsource.com/special/mlk/ M.L.King Historic site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Luther_King_Day We cant let our distaste for the segments of society that whine or complain or foment trouble keep us from finding and seeing those who are, and try to do, good. The negative should never overshadow the right.

  18. Sad day

Falcon, sorry to hear about your loss, I've lost a good natured friend too in the past named Bud. I can empathize... My suggestion, get a new pup. It'll never replace the pal you lost. But as you both grow closer, the sense of loss will ease to fond memories. In the process, you'll make new memories with your new friend. God bless...

  21. I LOVE Americans!

Mannie and Nesher, Ive got to say the feeling here in America is mutual. Israel has always had a special place with Americans. I had the pleasure of visiting Haifa and Tel Aviv, Israel back in '79 while aboard the Independance. In 3 tours and deployments overseas around the world, I never felt more welcome than in Israel. EVERYONE was friendly. Would love to go back and see it again, this time visit some places I missed the first time around like Jerusalem and Masada, and see Ceasaria again; so much history its humbling. Interesting to think Israel is at a world crossroads; Europe, Asia, Africa, all connected there. Trade-routes, marching armies, travelers. In my Adventist faith, Its said God put his people there in that strategic place to be a light to the world. That would certainly be the place.
