that's what VATSIM is all about. The problem is some of the sparse areas don't always have coverage. This site won't come up at work but it's supposed to be the Military version of VATSIM http://www.flymilitary.net/
-
Looks like you guys have a sponsored flight now ;) Cross crounty flights are far more fun in MP. I did this on VATSIM once, I'll have to look you guys up on the weekends as well as your start times are to late for this East Coaster

thanks Jeff, I just had a retired Fairchild crew chief email me saying he has a ton of pics for me. He just need to scan them and touch them up in Photo shop. He said he has every unit, I guess each unit has different colors. So once I get them them we'll have Fairchild skins. AVSIM and Sim-outhouse have the file up thanks Jeff. An AI package is almost complete, just finished all the afcads with help from Reconmercs on SIMHQ. Now on to the flight plans
-
I'm not sure if I can upload my skin package here or not. Need to figure out how :D It's already at AVSIM and uploading now at Flightsim. My Andrews ribbon didn't come out good enough for me so I'm waiting to find a better picture. Waiting for a few contacts for Robins and Fairchild AFB units and I can release them separately. If any of you military guys have any contacts I would really appreciate it if you could use them. I've emailed the webmasters with no luck Just search for my name, the file is called KC-135R reskin package.

it seems there is a problem with the panel they use. I've seen a few posts I think on SIMHQ which reference a different panel to use.

Dagger, it looks like your missing a patch for that bird? Missing rotors and the textures around the exhausts
-
AVSIM, just do a search for Sasala e-s3.zip s3b2k2v2_2.zip

on the forums I thought I heard around $29.99 This is a big issue with me as well. Might make a nice Fathers day or Xmas gift ;-)

for FS9 you need a registered copy of FSUIPC. not only does it work for radar but helps in other 3rd party product like weather and really helps with setting up your joystick. all the updates are free which seems to be pretty much monthly. well worth it for me http://www.schiratti.com/

Check out these roads flight one is about to release as a payware update  Here are a few shots comparing the default, to new USA Roads. Notice the more accurate road placement, as well as curve details. It is also very likely you will be able to locate the street you live on, or work at, with this product. before Default Asheville after Updated with USA Roads Default outside Columbus OH. USA Roads - Notice the new road placement, and how the roads curve accurately. http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_post...p?TID=7507&PN=1 more over heads at airports in the above link Check out this night shots FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 28, 2004 USA Roads for Microsoft Flight Simulator Flight One Software, in cooperation with Scenery Solutions, has announced the upcoming and exciting new product: USA Roads for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Designed to raise Flight Simulator 2004 to new heights of realism, USA Roads for Microsoft Flight Simulator will bring your flying experience alive with nearly every road in the continental USA, from surface streets in your neighborhood, to the major roads, highways, and more. Interchanges, ramps, access roads, are all included. The entire continental United States is covered in super high detail, with millions of miles of roads. The product uses precision proprietary mapping data to provide highly accurate road layouts. Divided roadways and highways are displayed in their correct positioning for both sides, not just as a single line using a divided road texture. You will see roads the way they are supposed to look! This is invaluable for those VFR flights where you need road and highway landmarks to help you navigate. Now you can take off low and slow in the Piper Cub from the tip of Florida, across the central plains, up through the northwest mountain regions, and all the way to Seattle, with just USA Roads and a road map. USA Roads have been carefully optimized for FS2004 to have little impact on performance, and to blend in nicely with existing scenery textures, land class, and terrain mesh. USA Roads include their own texture set. New daytime textures brighten up concrete roadways and blend in with the urban land class textures. New night textures provide more accurate looking street-lighting effects. Initial product release will be in downloadable format and will require a broadband connection because of size. The CD ROM version will be available shortly after the download version is released. Product release is expected to be in mid June with tentative pricing set to $29.95 for the download version, and $34.95 for the CD ROM version. For more information, please go to http://www.flight1.com, or the USA Roads forum at http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_topics.asp?FID=19.

I don't believe you can get the shimmer with the MX cards. I thought I've read that response from other MX users on the flightsim.com forums :(

http://www.fcw.com/fcw/articles/2000/0207/...im-02-07-00.asp Jet jockey wannabes play Microsoft Corp.'s Flight Simulator game to capture a sense of what it's like to pilot a thundering jet. The game's realism makes it not only exciting to play but also an effective training tool. To that end, the Navy last month started to issue a customized version of the software to all student pilots and undergraduates enrolled in Naval Reserve Officer Training Courses at 65 colleges. The office of the Chief of Naval Education and Training has also installed Flight Simulator on high-powered Pentium III PC workstations with 29-inch screens at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, Texas, and plans to install it at two other bases in Florida. I'd love to know how much their customized version differs from ours B)

Microsoft Issues Statement Posted: Wednesday, May 12, 2004 - 20:30 As you have probably read, there are numerous rumors floating around in the various forums and newsgroups about the demise of the MS Flight Simulation series, and some have even included supposed attibution to former MSFS Team Members. AVSIM spoke with MSFS Team Members today on the subject. The MSFS Team issued the following statement; "While we don't comment on rumors and speculation, we have not announced any future versions of our titles, and we are absolutely committed to the simulation category." For those new to the hobby, this statement reflects Microsoft's long standing policy of not commenting on, or discussing anything about a product until they have publicly announced the product. The AVSIM team hopes this puts the rumors to rest.

it appears to be a simple copy and past. Same as usual. Extract to temp using folder names. Backup your aircraft.cfg (to save your re-paints). Copy the FA-18E_SuperHornet folder into the FS9 aircraft folder overwriting the older files. The advanced setup gives you custom aircraft.cfg's reflecting the different fuel load-outs. (optional)

Chief, the advantage of using the VC is the view is much more clearer. You can use your hat buttons to move up, down, left and right. Also can use + or -(minus) to move in or out. Normally many buttons aren't clickable but it's a much better view than the tight 2D cockpit. Check out Kirk Olssens's VC for his Viper. this is Dean Reimer's F-18 VC from 2002. This is the Payware T-37 which is steps above most VCs -
with the 4 mentioned AC above there are plenty of extra skins but atleast if everyone had the basic model we would all see that. I'll post links for some of the major aircraft, please post what you guys would want as well. I'm not saying no one can't use their payware files as I have a ton of them but when I'm flying MP I'll stick to these files just so we all see what we're really flying.

Should we trying to get a few of the same addon planes so when we fly MP flights we can actually see what the other guy is really flying or is that not a big deal to others? When I was part of the VUSAFS we all had to have the same aircraft installed whether we flew it or not so it would show up when the other guys flew it. If we housed in the download section say one of each, F-16, F-15, F-14, F-18 and so on and we all downloaded them just in case. If PC waned to fly the F-15 and I wanted to fly the F-18 I would at least see him as a F-15 instead of a Lear or a KC-10? Makes it better for pictures of formation flying when it looks like what were really flying ;) thanks for showing up last night, we'll plan another soon. Had some small hicups but all seems to be fixed I think?
