  1. We will have to look for other static C-130 or UH-01. I does not appear we will be able to include the A-Team models.
  2. I will shoot them an email, and hopefully they wont mind. Crimson, here are some images for Menu Screen usage attached to this post. Let me know what you think. (Cocas, take a look at it as well, it has a few shots of the Area 88 Runway, and some hangars, but as far as the actual layout of the base that is the best diagram I can find at the moment) Cocas, I couldn't send an email directly to A-team, I had to register on their forum, which takes a while, but I am working on it menuscreens.rar
  3. Crimson- Hanger Radio/Mission6-------------PERFECT DebriefKill/Fail/Mission9--------Let me know if you like Asphalt Wilderness for either of these DebreiffSuccess/ Let me know on people near to the sun Campaignscreen/Mission10-------PERFECT Creditscreen/------go for Dog Fight Blues! its upbeat! So after you check those out we can lock up the menu music. I have a bunch of stills that may work for menu screens, ill send the to you tomorrow and you can see what you like. I have a good but plain one looking straight at the A88 runway from ground level with abig open sky in teh background I thought might be good for the initial campaign screen Cocas- Great great work so far. Did you want to mail A-team to get permission? I can is no problem. As far as Area 88 base its self, there should be a decent amount of reference available in the first OVA (were you able to find it on youtube?) If you want some screen shots let me. Whats that out in the water you are working on ;) This is going to be so cool! I tested backtrax last night with the fight music and its AWESOME! If we can pull this off its going to be so cool!
  4. OK downloading that so I can listen to the tracks I didnt have. Here is a rapidshare link for the ones i suggested Let me know what you think http://rapidshare.com/files/206535537/Classic_Music.rar.html
  5. Meh....its 35mb in size....dunno how to mail it to you. I fail Asran city is right on the coast (OVA 3 Saki,Shin and Micky go visit), Area 88 is a but further out in the desert but still not terribly far from water
  6. This is where my inexperience in modding shows through. I can Mod my 74 Celica or my Enfield, Nagant, or Mauser, but this stuff is all greek to me. So far, those bases look EXCELLENT. All those C-130 lined up look great, things are really starting to take shape. Ok, so Lets Focus on "Classic" Version first. I think we have the most resources for that. If it goes well and we releases it, then we can work on "Modern" Im going to email Crimson some screenies for menus. Lets push forward! mainscreen.wav -How far to paradise(OST I&II)-------------PERFECT hangarradio1.wav -mission 6(OST I&II)--------Need to hear debriefkilled.wav -So Long My Love (OST3)---------------Possibly Asphalt Wilderness (Can be split into two versions one for debrief killed and one for debrief failed) debreiffail.wav -mission 9(OST I&II)-------Need to hear DebriefSuccess.wav -Sad destiny(OST I&II)---------------Possibly People Near to the Sun SingleMissionScreen.wav -Sand of illusion (OST3)--------------PERFECT RecordScreen.wav -From Yesterday...Tomorrow (OST3)------------PERFECT OptionsScreen.wav -Long ago and so far away(OST I&II)-------PERFECT BaseScreen.wav -Area 88 ones old home (OST3)--------PERFECT CampaignScreen.wav -mission 10(OST I&II)----------Need to hear CreditsScreen.wav -How far to paradise 2(OST I&II)-----------Possibly Dog Fight Blues Crimson, PM me your email and ill shoot you some of this music and you can see what you think
  7. I found a UH-01 in the downloads section...that should work. There were two actually.
  8. I think we are using the terrain from SFP1 (Correct me if im wrong Cocas) So lets work with that. So you have a "greatest hits" so to speak? I actually have the 3rd OVA sound track I believe. ill post the tracks tonight EDIt: Im not sure which version it is but it has some diff tracks an dthe printing looks a bit older. It has one called Trigger of Sorrow which is AWESOME. of course Sand of Illusion is one of my favs Anyway you can email me those tracks so I can listen to them and see how they go with the Various screens? Ill send you some of the ones I have as well. Let me get to you the screenshots for the various menus too. We can throw all the "action" music into one folder for Back Trax usage
  9. Cocas, that base is looking great, I just want to drop a ton of bombs all over it! Keep it up! I have all the pilot photos for classic mode, just need to drop the resolution on them a bit. Ill finish up the Modern pilot photos this weekend. As far as a Bucc replacement....its kind of tough. Needs to be subsonic, good low level flying skills, no real air to air capability, there inst a whole lot the was similar to the Banana, at least not in my book. Man....I love that plane. Anyway, not a huge deal, it only appeard in the 2004 series in one episode albeit the best episode in my opinion. For the music we will package BackTrax. I think this is best for a few reasons. One, it doesnt install anything on the system level, which is always nice, keeps things clean. Two it almost has NO memory footprint, as opposed to WMP which does ALL KINDS of things in the background like the dishes and your dirty laundry. You never know what it is doing. I figure in the read me we will just provide instructions on minimizing the sim during flight and activating the player. We will include zip files of music. Speaking of music, Crimson can you email me the track names for your OVA soundtrack? I may have them already, don't want you to do any unneeded work. Ok I am off to work, Cheers
  10. This doesn't have to do with the mod but with Area 88 at least Look what Kaoru cooked up! ZOMG! http://www.area88.jp/info/zippo.html I emailed him too... and this is great for model reference! http://cgi.ebay.com/JAPAN-ANIME-AREA-88-AI...222142002r37866 Think i died and went to Otaku heaven http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...DN%26start%3D10
  11. As far as in game music, im thinking BackTrax http://www.simwarrior.com/sfp1/BackTrax.html (which I used to use in SFP1) is prob the easiest way. But there is still a problem, normally you launch Backtrax before your sim and it starts playing whatever is in its directory. This would play over the menu music. I wonder if there is a way to access the program in flight (besides minimizing and pressing play, which I guess would always work) and being able to pause or stop it as the mission is near its end so starting with the debreifing screen you are back to whatever music is set to play for hangar and load outs etc Download link at bottom of page still works.
  12. Aircraft All aircraft except the F-20 and Buccaneer are available. (as much as id like to have the Bucc, I dont see that happening. The F-5,F-8,F-14,F-16, and Draken, have already been skinned with Area 88 Livery. All the others however, need to be skinned. Sigh. Need to find a skinner with some free time. Classic will have significantly more planes than the Modern version. That was the main difference between the two series anyway. Ok. I have done enough research tonight.
  13. OK in the story these are the Kingdom of Asran's bases Area 81 Counter Insurgency Base (CoIn) All the Broncos would be stationed here as well as other prop planes like the Skyraider Area 84 No description (Im thinking Supply base, cargo planes, fuel drums, etc) Area 85 No description (Im thinking naval base, supply boxes, a few planes) Area 86 Ground support base (Friendly tanks, vehicles, etc) Area 87 Helo base (Supposed to have helicopters for SAR etc) Area 88 Main Mercenary Air Force (Most planes, resources, bunkers, hangers, defensive anti aircraft guns etc) As far as the Anti-Government Force something similar but no seaport, some unpaved airstrips (not all of them) supply bases, refinery etc Lots of tanks on the enemy side and anti aircraft flak guns around all targets
  14. Thanks for the update! Everything is looking good so far. Tonight I will try and grab all the aircraft that are already skinned for Area 88 and get them together (as well as who created them) so we can see what still needs to be done.
  15. Sounds like a plan. Stock terrain it is. Just with our tweaks I guess
  16. OK so use the stock SFP1 terrain correct? Just checking for understanding. As far as allied bases/airfields I think there were 5 "Area's" (I need to check with the manga) For Enemy bases we can make as many as we want I suppose. Lots of Ammunition depots, fuel depots. Guarded by Anti Aircraft fire. (Anyone gutsy enough to model the Mafia's land carrier?) I like that convoy of ships, lots and lots of targets. No Helo's? NO big deal. They just get blown up on the runways anyway. We do need a few static C-130s though. I will do some more image capturing tonight. Try and finish teh pilot pics and change to the correct resolution. Im collecting the screens for the various menus too.
  17. These are not at the correct resolution yet, but it will give an idea of what the Classic and Modern Pilot photos would look like. Pilotphotos.zip
  18. Thats right, that's when the COINS base gets attacked by Wolf Pack i think. We need those as will as a few choppers as static items. As far as audio I have that covered. I have the 2004 TV background score, as well as the Cyber Trance Album, and I have the OVA soundtrack as well. Also if needed some tracks from Sega Cd's AH-3 Thunderstrike would fit in with the OVA soundtrack. It should be easy enough replacing the stock audio, the bigger challenge is getting it to rotate through tracks while in game. We may just forgo-that and package a free mp3 player of sorts to run in the background (When i pieced together my first Area 88 wannabe game, that's how I listened to the soundtracks during play EDIT: I am almost done arranging the Pilot Photos. There is roughly three images of most major characters. I tried to have one without flight gear and the others with.
  19. Dont worry about that at all! I have no problems understanding. If you were typing in your native language then I would probably have an issue, but even then there is always google translate! Do not worry, communication is great, and we are getting lots of ideas together. I am very excited about this!
  20. Just saw the Habour picture and I LIKE IT! "A TARGET RICH ENVIORNMENT!" We need lots of fuel refinerys and depots too as that played heavily in the storylines. That shouldnt be hard either as it is already in most games. In regards to the sounds, thats a great idea....i suppose i could link multiple songs together for one long continuous song and tehrfore only one file....its not the most eloquent solution but as a fall back idea it would work. I will keep researching as well. Anybody want to volunteer to be lead skinner to fill what aircraft are already not skinned?
  21. Good work cocas. I like how the sandstorm is looking so far. Dont worry about the menus, we will get someone else on that or I will look into it. Maybe we can make some sort of script to run an mp3 or wav file in the background. Just trying to keep the end user from having to do lots and lots of extra stuff beyond what is already required
  22. Good idea as well. At work right now but I will be on later tonight to work on this. Im arrange the images for the various menus and coreographing which audip tracks to put where (not the most important thing but it is all I can do) acouple of quick questions...when i used the first area 88 themed skins a long time ago, to get music to play in game, I had to run an mp3 player program minimized to the system tray and it would just play whatever music was in its directory. Is there any way to have the program itself launch music during missions so the end user doesnt have to fiddle with it? Also, how hard would it be to make a launcher that basically asks "Select your version"? You would click one of the two choices and it would take you to either of the full games? I have a buddy who was working on the daimyo expansion for myth that got cancelled a LONG while back, I will see if he can assist with anything.
