Hi All, After having done a few skin job on RCAF planes (along with creating ''new'' planes in the process) I went a mission the Canadian Hercules in the game. I started from taking the fabulous C-130 from Dels superpack and extracted the E, H and J-30 versions as they are the one's used by the RCAF. as Dels already made the CC-130H i only had to do the lines and rivets and make a ''clean'' skin (this is a personal liking here). So here is what i did so far : CC-130E - Created the 3 skins type used (White/Grey - Camo - Overall Grey). - Made all serial numbers and planes numbers for the E model. - Add some personnal decals made for previous skins. CC-130H : - Passing over the lines and rivets. - Made all serial numbers and planes numbers for the H model. - PLANE COMPLETED CC-130J-30 : - NO WORK ON SKIN DONE YET. - Made all serial numbers and planes numbers for the E model. - Add some personnal decals made for previous skins. As i will work all weekend, so further work will be done so far but thing are going pretty well. So might release a small Canadian C-130 pack in the next days/weeks. Here is a preview taken from Mue's Tool Box of the 3 CC-130E's schemes : THESE ARE WIP, EXCEPT THE OVERALL GREY

Sometimes they are already done and sometimes not :) It's not that hard to do. You will find that doing skins might be headaches sometimes but when everything is done and work properly you will have great satisfaction. I'm considering myself new to this also :) But the learning will never stop and will get better and better.

Did not tested it on others Hawks. So it might work or not. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The CT-155 Hawk was selected for the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) program because of its similarities to frontline fighter aircraft. Student pilots graduate from the CT-156 Harvard II to this highly advanced jet trainer. Its Rolls-Royce turbofan engine generates more than 6000lbs of thrust and powers the jet to supersonic speeds. The Hawk’s sophisticated glass cockpit features: a heads-up display (HUD) hands-on throttle and stick (HOTAS) controls integrated navigation and targeting systems With its superior technology, the jet can perform a wide range of high performance training missions. View File CT-156 Harvard II CT-156 Harvard II for SF2 ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Based on the T-6C Texan II made by dtmdragon (which is based on Dels work). Original dtmdragon plane can be found here : http://combatace.com/files/file/15102-raytheon-t-6c-texan-ii-for-sf2/ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is the CT-156 Harvard II as used by the RCAF 15th Wing for the SF2 series of games. To be used on dtmdragon T-6C Texan II ONLY. (have not been tested on Dels planes as the PC-9, AT-6B and T-6A, but some if not all MIGHT work). The CT-156 Harvard II is a variant used for pilot instruction in the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC), located at 15 Wing, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. They are leased to the Royal Canadian Air Force by the program's administrator, CAE. NFTC's Harvard II aircraft are almost identical in cockpit layout and performance to the American JPATS Texan IIs. Within NFTC, students fly the Harvard II in Phase 2 and 3 of the training program, and some will go on to fly the CT-155 Hawk jet trainer also used by NFTC for Phase 4 (Moose Jaw) and Phase 5 Fighter Lead-In Training (4 Wing, Cold Lake, Alberta). NFTC had 25 Harvard II aircraft owned and maintained by Bombardier, although one was lost following a non-fatal crash in 2011. CAE took over the program in 2015. Although the CT-156 is a version of the T-6A, i prefered to use the T-6C Texan II in order to get the version with wing hard points, intelligence/ surveillance/ reconnaissance capabilities, a digital glass cockpit that includes a Head-Up Display, six multi-function displays, Hands On Throttle And Stick. Also, you may use weapons with it while the real aircraft is not intended to use some (in the RCAF). These skins represent the scheme used by the RCAF on their CT-156 trainers along with the ''vintage'' scheme use on aircraft 120. The serial numbers in this skin pack along with planes numbers are real one's. CP-140 Aurora
1977Frenchie replied to 1977Frenchie's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
My pleasure to share! It is common sense for me to give a little to this great community of this site as i could grab (and make better) my SF2 sim :) I enjoy doing skinning from time to time (back in the Pacific Fighters era). Currently working on another little project :) As for the introduction of the Low-Viz scheme, i remember having seen some transport aircrafts painted this way in 1993. But it could be before this :) -
View File CP-140 Aurora To be used on Florian CP-140 ONLY. These skins represent the Hi-Viz and Low-Viz schemes used by the RCAF on their CP-140's Aurora. The serial numbers in this skin pack along with planes numbers fit per the squadrons they are (or been) with. Some minor details might be different then real life CP-140 as i have not been able to change this as they were model related or decal would not show up properly. You will get the following skins in this package : 407 Squadron : Hi-Viz : Early scheme Low-Viz : Late scheme 415 Squadron : Hi-Viz : Early scheme Low-Viz : Late scheme Two installation choice : SKINS ONLY (assuming you have the Florian CP-140 already installed): Copy the FOLDERS of the current pack objects/aircraft folder in your game CP-140 aircraft folder. Had not a lot of time to carefully check the Hi-Viz today but i'm pretty satisfied with the result. made a few adjustment to decal placing. Also started the Low-Viz of the 407 squadron and planning to work on the 415 tomorrow. As for the Low-Viz, pretty advanced on the skinning. Some areas have to be checked as there are color mismatches alongs with color details to change on the wings. But as you'll see a good part have been done :)
-
Maybe i will made a Brazilian skin as i already completed at 80% a P-3 skin (different then the CP-140). Will check after i'll have done the Low-Viz CP-140 (only have to do the grey tone decals). Plane skin is almost already done :) Will post a pic of this tonight. I also have in mind which plane i'll do next (an easier one to breath a little).
-
Almost there... Wings done Fuselage at 98% Engines done Props at 50% Will do a few more things (like serial and plane number placement) along with folders for both squadron then look if i'm satisfied. Will surely put something on this post tonight to show you the almost completed skins. Will then work on the Low-Viz skin. See ya!
-
A few more thing done Upper wings completed. Engines almost completely done. Repainted the ladder and tow bar. Lower wings have their generic lines and rivets done. still needto add more details. Fuselage still need some lines and rivets. Need to add the squadron decals along with serial numbers and plane numbers, But it begins to take form :)

Back from the airshow and it worth the run. The whole family loved it! Just to ear the gentle roar of the Mustang Mark IV Merlin engine, pure music! A shame my camera broke in the middle of the day, but memories can't be lost (for now :)) So i could not get a lot of pics of the CP-140 but i made a few turns of the bird to see some details. I started back the generic work on the upper wing and will continue tomorrow along with the underwing. Will do the ''secondary'' lines and rivets after on the whole thing, then add some details. So still a lot of work ahead to get this done. Do not know what bird to skin after, but will be an RCAF one for sure. CC-130, CC-177, CF-188, CT-156? you have a preference? Will have to choose after the CP-140 :) Unless wrench release soon the CF-100 (kidding, just saw a pic in a forum and hope to see this one day).
-
Some work done on the reskinning of the new template :) Done the generic panel lines and rivets on the fuselage, tail. Started the work on the wings. After generic lines will be done, will go further in the details with the lines and rivets i had on my first skin (pics of the first post) along with more lettering/decals. As i leave for CFB Bagotville tomorrow nothing will be made in the next days but will have a special look to the CP-140 there :) So stll in the process and yes, i plan to do the Low-Viz version :) See ya!
-
Decison taken. I will start back from Florian CP-140 as it will be more realistic and more detailed (what a model/skin)! Already done some work on the fuselage and will keep the wings for the end as the fun is there :) Will do the color tone per earlier pics and the 2 grey tone also along with serials numbers per squadron. Will post something by tuesday night!
