yeah Ive just bought this game on Steam myself after seeing these screenshots on here, once i did a bit of research it seemed like a great game and now that I have played it its even better than I thought it would be! For £6 and more than 15 hours just over the weekend thats a hell of a good value but I will be playing this for months probably. It so reminds me of the classic PC games of the 90s when you got great graphics, great gameplay, a lot of depth but not overly complex to actually get into. I can pick this game up play a few missions over an evening after work and really enjoy it. And it is actually really scarily realistic with smoke, varying ballistics, buoyancy mechanics that affect sinking, star shells, spotting, stealth, destroyer torpedoes, Sunderland Flying Boats, squid, hedgehogs, - its just got flipping well everything not to mention practically every sea going ship and plane type that was around the Atlantic during WW2! And if that is not enough it even has a dynamic campaign! How the hell they fitted all this into the original Android version! Really the makers of many PC sims around today should take note of how good this game is, its amazing. I ahvent bought a DCS game or a recent IL game or given the RoF lot any more of my money - these guys are getting it all. Also they are really communicative over on Steam and you can tell tehy love their jobs! If they create a new Pacific game they can have my £30 for it now. But I believe they are busy working on a new real time naval game - cant wait to see what that is! -
Death = Campaign End/Refly?
nstutt replied to nstutt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Well I never last that long - usually 5 or so missions and I'm dead. It does mean you rarely see the campaign progress all the way through. And I have never appreciated sims where 'realism' affects fun and gameplay, never have. But of course there are many things that are not 'realistic' in SF2, this would simply be another. I guess seeing as development has ended on these sims its unlikely to ever be done though, unless they ever do a Kickstarter for a new game anyway. -
Death = Campaign End/Refly?
nstutt posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Has anyone found a way of changing this in the Strike Fighters games to allow continuing a campaign if your pilot dies? I know you can always re-fly the same mission again and I suppose you could quit the mission on starting in order to sort of simulate failing that mission. But of course anything that did happen like planes being shot down etc would not happen then. I was wondering if there was a way that anyone has found of perhaps enabling you to take over another pilot or to cheat death? Surely there must be some setting somewhere??? This was the best thing about Falcon 4 the way you could die and yet still continue the campaign albeit with less pilots and planes. Would be great if this was enabled in the Thirdwire games as well! Its really the only thing I dont like much in their games. Its a real bore to have to fly the same mission again and if you die again to have to fly it a third time! You just get nowhere. Especially with the fact its so easy to instantly die with just one shot or one missile hit. Anyone? -
Are these mods for FE1 or FE2?
