Aircraft prices in campaigns
arf16 replied to WhiteBoySamurai's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Wow, this is useful information. I've been wondering about this for a LONG time. -
I just visited UVA this weekend and I really liked what I saw there. I had a great interview with the crew coach there and he told me that most of their coxswains (the small people with Napoleonic complexes who steer the boat and yell a lot) are graduating this year, so as an experienced cox, I have a very good chance of doing very well on their teams. I just have to visit VT next weekend to make sure this is what I really I want to do.

To me, VT and Purdue registered about equal in academics and student life, but VT has an added bonus of being an in-state school.
-
I visited Purdue just 2 weeks ago and liked it a lot, but VT is a lot closer to home and has a nicer campus and, according to Princeton Review, has the best on campus dining in the nation. BTW, if anyone's wondering, I plan on majoring in mechanical engineering then work in the automotive industry.

...and I did not get into Yale. Oh well, one less to have to choose from. Right now I'm torn between VT and UVA. I really liked Tech when I visited it, and has a really nice campus and a more established engineering program, but UVA is more prestigious in name, has a pretty nice campus, and has one of the best crew teams in the country (rowing something I'll be involved in no matter where I go). UVA also has a pretty interesting engineering program.

The KB obsession
arf16 replied to Crusader's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I think the wiki-KB is a good idea since people could still add articles there like we do here. Someone should keep an eye on it though so some jerk doesn't add a bunch of BS for chuckles. -
Game Issues
arf16 replied to Brainless's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
That mod requires WOV/WOE because it uses the stock B-52 in those games. -

Anyone interested in Yukikaze aircraft?
arf16 replied to Shin_kazama's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Most starfighters in Star Wars got their lift capabilities in atmosphere from repulsorlifts, which are separate from the sub-light engines and hyperdrives. -

Anyone interested in Yukikaze aircraft?
arf16 replied to Shin_kazama's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
I think there are many people here would disagree with you on that, in fact almost all of the Rogue Squadron games have had missions in atmospheric environments. And please don't attack another person's opinions like that if you don't agree with them. If someone felt like creating a X-wing for the TK series, you don't have to install it if you don't like it. The best part of this game is that you can do almost whatever you want with it. -
X-Wing
arf16 replied to Dreamstar's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Actually, I think it would be awesome to see X-wings and TIE fighters over Europe, like in Secret Weapons Over Normandy, but less arcade-ish. -
Only if the planes went over him one at a time, in a straight line, on equal intervals....and over San Fransisco

f-16.net has a very interesting thread going on about the same topic (F-35 in Die Hard 4, I mean, not Eliza Dushku)

Wings Over Israel [Official Thread]

The threshold was 100 kills, I think because the game engine didn't know how to record triple digits on the aircraft...kinda like the Y2K thing... -

Oh, I think I've seen that field on the train up to Philly. It was cool seeing the rows of A-10s parked out on the tarmac.
