  1. Your game may not have write permissions to the directory, sometimes my installs used to do that, I would hit the Print Screen button, the screenshot shutter sound would go off, but I wouldn't get any images created in my Screenshots folder. Perhaps try running it as Administrator?

ran both SF1 and MSpaint as Administrator, still getting blacked out images

disregard, didn't know the game created a screenshots folder.

  2. The C-5 Galaxy was originally built by Veltro2k. Please give proper credits

you better start learning how to take screenshots -- it's part of "what's required" for posting a mod.

and yes, I do recall that you said "the screenshot folder was empty" on you last upload.  Maybe get that looked into, or use an outside program that runs "behind" the game to take the screenie. There are several available, it one searches enough

    ill change credits, thank you.

ive been using MSpaint (print screen button on keyboard) and it's always worked, but ever since i got the Oct2008 patch, it doesnt work, it gives me a blacked out image.

  3. Hello All,

have SFP1, Strike fighters Gold and Wings over Vietnam and love 'em all. And was just wondering if it is at all possible to to start a mission from inside a hanger. I have tried to park my plane in one but blow up. Saw a video on Ytube of a Mirage 2000 coming out of a hanger and taxying to the runway. Could have been from WOE though.

Is WOE worth getting? And what is the highest altitude any of you have managed to reach with your plane loaded down with ordnance?

    all the best

    eccles

i have SFP1, highest ive gone in general was "sub-orbital", 400,000ft with SR-71 (firewalled in full afterburner, gradual climb, not straight up), loaded ive gotten a F-15E to about 90kft

  4. It doesn't install.

Create a folder, drop the catpack.exe file in the folder.

Put a .cat file in the folder with it.

Drop the .cat file on the catpack.exe file and hit enter.

It should create a folder of the .cat file and open the .cat file in the folder.

    Read the readme file carefully.

no folder appears. same thing happens with every extractor ive tried, nothing happens. it says everything has extracted successfully, but i cant find any folders and nothing is opened

  5. im having problems with the Cat file extractor tool, and with that i cant add weapons or anything. my computer has never done any updates, so i dont need to make it compatible with anything and it extracted everything fine when i first installed SFP1 (ive since reinstalled several times for different reasons) now it doesnt seem to do anything. i have plenty of aircraft that have no weapons because i cant extract the inis to add in their weapons.

  6. re-asign controls....

temporary when my stick was "disabled" i set throttle controls decrease was Z increase was X....key....and vectoring was ctrl+Z/ctrl+X it was pretty easy to controll..also rudder on  A/S and D was Speedbrake.

been using the default Keyboard mapping, my issue is transitioning from vertical to horizontal flight. i turn on wing leveler, which does fairly well keeping me from cart-wheeling into the ground (atleast with the Harriers, F-35B is hard to handle). im getting the hang of it though, i can get a MV-22 off the ground without crashing.

  7. sure... take care of weight. As far as Yak-38 I did it intentionally on the edge, so it can VTOL with light ordnance only. Thrust vs weight ratio. You can calculate, IF Thrust - Take off weight > Ordnance then you can vertical off.

Contemporary Harriers were the same, but they had the STOVL doctrine from trampoline from the start, Yaks had to develop this technique later on (1982-).

Geez.. man - without joystick? That's quite masochistic if you ask me

i had a joystick, but its not working, using keyboard now. its not that bad, but in the case of VTOL aircraft, i need a joystick

  8. The Harrier was designed to start in short rolling take off. Early models can only take off vertically if empty. Try rolling a bit, accelerating to 50-100km/h, then turn the thrust. Same can be done with Yak-38 and 41 as well.

It can be done but not if you want to carry enough fuel/armament to do anything useful.

yeah, i figured that out, missiles, bombs and full fuel make it heavy. also realized that maybe VTOL would be better useful with a joystick instead of a keyboard, i have crashed so many times.
