  1. BTW, A good subsitute is that 600gal CL Tank someone has suggested.....
  2. Change the DecalLevel to "0". Reason is, That You might not have this Squadron listed in the SquadronList.INI. Second, If You did, You need to have it in the "Decals" Folder because that's where the Decal Engine is looking for it. If the .Tga has been created in the "Decals" Folder for this Skin, try adding the Squadron to the SquadronList.INI. Be sure to number the .TGA to reflect the Number of the Squadron in the SquadronList.ini. DecalLevel=1 controls this Function. For Example: If say I have VMA-231 as Squadron Number 455 on the SquadronList.INI, Then I'd have SqPatch455.tga in My Decals Folder. It'll work everytime. It'll look like this in the SquadronList.ini: [squadron455] Name=VMA231 DisplayName=VMA-231 Aces Nation=USMC And in the Decal.INI like this: [Decal001] MeshName=NOSE DecalLevel=1 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=SqPatch455 Position=-11.33,5.425 Scale=1.5 DecalMaxOD=3 DecalLevel=0....Nations ID DecalLevel=1....Squadrons ID DecalLevel=2....Aircraft Number DecalLevel=3....Kill Number If You are setting up an independent Decal Folder for this Skin, then set Your DecalLevel's to "0". It defaults all Decal Functions. Very important if using SF2. TW refined the Decal System. BTW, I looked at the Decal (.Tga), It's fine..... Hope this helps.... 331KillerBee
  3. Yep, You're right..... Here's an ALQ-31.... And here's an ALE-2A on the Outboard and a ALQ-31 on the Middle Station on the Wing closest to You on an EA-6A.... 331KillerBee
  4. Just guessing by looking at it......It might be this... [Decal001] MeshName=VTAIL DecalLevel=1 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=Atlantic\30STORMO\tdecal Position=-11.33,5.425 Scale=1.5 DecalMaxOD=3 <<<<< Typo Maybe? 331KillerBee
  5. First SAM's...SA-2's fired in Vietnam at U.S. Aircraft.... 25th July 1965. Here's a neat Article on it.... http://www.americanprofile.com/veterans/article/25838.html Not only was the EF-10B used, But one would be hard pressed to find Information on the Pods being used. They were ALQ-31's and ALE-2A's....... Semper Fi! 331KillerBee
  6. Ah yes Mike, The "Rose Garden". I might just bump it up on the "Things to do List". It should be an easy Base to do. The Guys from MAG-15 would sure appreciate it...... 331KillerBee
  7. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=30702 http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=23485 Don't know about Corel. I use Photoshop and Paint Shop. I also use Gimp which is a free Download.
  8. I've watched the Demo Vids now three times with amazement. Me and Polak used FSSC, But We were doing the Converting by Hand. (Copy and Paste). Given, Faster than doing a Target.INI by Hand, I see SST being even Faster. Man, I've got an ongoing Project with already 250+ Ground Objects placed with much more to go. With a Tool like this, I could get the Job done in no Time......
  9. YAP "Missions" being the key Word there. Though nice looking Ground Objects (ie Eye-Candy for $20+) They neglect 2/3rds of the Rest of the Sim. Also, One can only use them in the User Generated Missions wrote by the YAP People. If it's Eye-Candy You want......Eye-Candy with limitations You get....... Also, The same Missions under the same conditions. YAP might use the Ground Objects several times, But the Mission Conditions are the same every time. 100 to 200, Maybe 300 Missions.........Well, Vietnam had several Thousand Sorties, Missions that one can get historcial Information on. I have them. All Declassified in 1985 and 1997. Especially the one that My Father was killed on flying for 20th TASS in a OV-10 over Laos in 1970. Though I've advocated "Payware" the freedom to co-exist with the "Freeware" Community way back when, I'll stick to producing Eye-Candy for the Free Community that can be used with the whole Sim. Not just Part of it. There's more enjoyment and gratfication there for Me contributing to a Community that I've been a part of well before any YAP existed. I take offence when Mr. Shelton claims that We in the Community are basically "Pirates" and steal others Work. By in large, I say to Mr. Shelton, That It's the "Freeware" Community's contributions that for the most part, have made, and are making YAP. The "Paywares have alot to still learn from the Freewares". If one doesn't think so, I just refer to the amount of Free Mods here and other Places versus what YAP has to offer. And how this line of Sims has progressed through the Years since SFP1 was released in 2002. Now If reading this makes one think that I'm Anti-Payware, You'd be wrong. It's just a Rant when I see someone posting from YAP and say, "Well, We have it". When in fact, The whole Story is not being told......It makes the Sim, A Partial Sim Add-On. Looks pretty, But not fully functional. My two Pennys...... 331KillerBee
  10. Russ, I'll work up a Text with Instructions and send via PM....
  11. I did a Chu Lai AB with the help of Crab_02 doing some modeling the SATs Strip. I got it working in Game. I lost it due to losing a Computer awhile back. I plan on doing it again. Yes, It works like a faux Carrier with the Deck Height of .ooo1. No Movement in the Data.INI. Placement is just like any ordinary Carrier in Campaigns. One must make it a "Carrier Station". It also can be used in User made Missions. (The SATs being a seperate Ground Object) But in "Single Mission" Mode, It acts as any ordinary Runway.(No Catapult Lanches or Traps) In Chu Lai, The SATs Strip was a seperate .LOD from the Rest of the Base which was it's own .LOD. Placements of the .LODs is just like placing any Ground Object .LODs in Game. Since the SATs Strip is set up with only one Catapult and one Arresting Wire, Only the "Users" Aircraft can use these. AI could be fooled into using it also, Just haven't got that far. I beleave that I can get AI to use the Catapult by calling several Catapults in line with the Original one. Haven't tried it yet, but it's in the works......By not giving it a Damage Box, It will not explode....
  12. Storm, Making Airbases is pretty stright foward. First of all, It requires 3DMax with the ThirdWire Exporter. Keep in mind that an Airbase Layout is, afterall, a .Lod File. The biggest difference than any other Model in Game, instead of being 3d, it's a 2d Model built on a single Plane. One would have to make His Layout on the Single Plane, Break down the Layout into an Editable Mesh by trying to keep certian Areas as square as possible. Such as, Runways, Taxiways, Arming Pits, Tarmacs....ect. Keeping them square maks it easy to assign Material to them and keeps them from being destorted. Material usally consists of .Bmps. I like 512x512's or 256x256's for Runway Textures and such. For an Example, I say look at a Runway .Bmp in a certian Terrain .Cat. ArmourDave's Korat Base, Is an Example of trying to add as much Buildings to the Airbase Layout .LOD to save time in Object Placement. I beleave Gepard used the same process in making His Soviet Airbases Add-On's. It's a great Idea to save time in the placements. But also keep in mind, TW gives Us a lot of Objects to start off with. Plus, one could make his own to add to the collection. As in AD's Korat, Once You've got the Buildings set in the .LOD, that's it. You can't adjust them or move them. Also, the repetitive nature of doing many .Lods in 3DMax just to get them close or right. I personally like to make the Base Layout as ThirdWire does. Do the Layout as a single .Lod, then place seperate Ground Object .Lods to populate it. You can always fix what messes up. Hope this helps some..... While We are on the Subject, If any Member here flys FS2004 and know of Mr. George Knowles work, I'd like overhead direct ScreenShots of his Stuff. They can be PM'd to Me here. For the People that don't know Mr Knowles, He made several Bases of Vietnam for FS2004. They can be obtained at Simviation as Free Downloads. If I could get those Layouts, I could make them for WOX Series of Sims. I just don't have FS2004..... Semper Fi! 331KillerBee
  13. Very cool News. I tried FS Scenery Creator way back with Polak. I found it way to difficult to use for Me. I still use the Ole' Fashioned way of doing it. A clean sheet of Graph Paper and a Pencil.....lol! I hope Swambat the best on the Converter. It would be a most welcomed tool.......For that matter, Any Tool that compiles placement Information into an .INI, Would be most welcomed.... I've often thought of something like Sal's Waypoint Editor, Which is done in Adobe Flash, But on a scale of one Terrain Tile at a time in the Viewport......Or something like that. 331KillerBee
  14. New Skin Released

Much Thanks Erik. I appreciate it very much. Nice work. Hell, I even got promoted to SgtMajMC by the Members Icon......lol. Thanx and Semper Fi!, 331KillerBee
  15. Or for those that need a translation of what I said above.....I'll quote Larry the Cable Guy.... "GET R' DONE!"
  16. Fubar, That Hawk Base looks Great! Tannethal, Man those bases are Awesome too. I feel You on what it takes to do these things up. What's keeping this from release right now is a bunch of Jobs My Wife has Me doing this Weekend,(Painting the Bedroom...and ect.) And some placements in Camp Friendship. There's alittle more there involved than I first thought. Yes indeed, My next projects will be ASE Equipment. Then I'll re-do Chu Lai. I had Chu Lai build awhile back. Then lost it when a Computer got destroyed while in storage. Shame of it was, I had it working in Game. SATS and all. The biggest Announcment is that all of My work will be for FREE. Also, These Bases and Upgrades are geared for the Campaign Engine of TW Sims. With WOVII in the works, This is where one get get the most out of these Sims. And for those who are looking for more historical aspects, I say, Look how one can control how a certian Squadron gets placed at a certain Base. Also, how one can control such things as rotation at Bases and Upgrades in Aircraft in Squadrons. Generally, I like the advantage of being a Squadron/Wing Commander and making Decisions that may effect the Squadron performence and eventally, the outcome of the Campaign or War. Something some "Paywares" lack. So, hang tough. I'll get it done soon. I don't want to rush things just to get a Mod out. I want Quality for the enjoyment of all...... Semper Fi! 331KillerBee
  17. Just to let Yall' know I haven't fallen asleep on this...(Got alot of HoneyDews)..... 533rd MHS Korat RTAB "Build Up Bunker"...... Semper Fi! 331KillerBee
  18. OK Guys, Yall' convinced Me. This will be Version 1. I've got a Day or Two to tidy things up. Then I'll package it up and upload it for Yall. Version 2, I'll be working on. It'll have more accurate ASE Gear that I'm doing that will also be Low-Poly (I hope) that will look good with accurate Textures. I'm shooting for Low-Poly because that's how TW does their PowerCart and I hope it doesn't effect Frame Rates much. This Upgrade will allow one to use the ASE Gear at any Airbase of One's choosing. If You don't know what ASE is, It's Aircraft Servicing Equipment such as, MJ-1 Bomb Lift Truck. Maintence Platforms and Ladders. Fire Bottles. NF-2 Lighting Units. Power Carts and Hydralic Carts, Bomb Trailers......ect. If You have any Pictures of ASE that You want to see in the Game or have any Blue Prints, Service Manual Diagrams and such, Please feel free to PM Me them. They are most welcomed. Semper Fi! 331KillerBee
  19. It's the BLT's B-Day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, UFSARBLThold the Lettice! Happy Birthday, Dave. Semper Fi! 331KillerBee
  20. OK Guys, I'll tighten it up. Package it. And let Yall' have all the Fun with it........... Semper Fi! 331KillerBee
  21. I guess not. I'll shelve it then........
  22. Wouldn't doubt it. H&MS ORD Units did alot of monkeyin' around.Yes the GPU-2 was a Smaller Dia. But were in the Mk.4 Housing We used..... The M-197 had a Re-Chargable Battrey in the Pod. The Mk.11 Mod 5 had to use the Aircraft's own electrical System. I never seen both on Phantoms, Just smaller Aircraft.
  23. The GPU-2 used the Mk 4 Pod. Sometimes the aft Section of the GPU-2 were flat. Gas Supressor on the end was alittle different. We used to call them "Mk.4-3's"......But it's no biggie.
