  1. Here's the Original Patch.... In 1943 they were known as the "Doodlebugs". They changed to "Bumblebees" in 1954. In 1985 they became the "KillerBees"......
  2. Pappy, Looks outstanding! A Winner. Don't worry about the Modex....In time it might show up. Thanx! VMA-331 Transition to the AD-5 in 1954 after being the last Squadron to operate Corsairs (F4U-1) in the Marine Corps. They again transistioned to the Skyraiders in 1959 flying the AD-6 (A-1J) being the last Marine Corps Squadron to Deploy with it as an active duty unit. In 1970, They were the first Squadron to receive the A-4M Skyhawk II and received the Last Production A-4 Skyhawk produced by McDonnell Douglas in 1978. The stood down in 1982. Stood up in 1985 Being the first Combat Squadron in the USMC to operate the AV-8B. After Desert Storm, The squadron stood down in 1992. BTW, The Squadron Patch is the last Squadron Patch that survived WW II that Walt Disney designed and was never approved by the CNO. The original Color of the background of the Patch was that you have on the Wing Tips. Light Blue making it the Senior Squadron Patch of the Marines. They changed it to Red in 1959. Tradition is tradition......
  3. OK, Weapons (External Stores) figured out. I wonder if "Guns" is handled the same way....... :umnik2:
  4. Very Cool EJ! Comes at a great time......Thanks!
  5. OK Guys, This being from the A-4F_DATA.ini.... ALQ100 (ALQ100) SystemType=ECM_JAMMER JammerType=DECEPTIVE_JAMMER JammerStrength=35.0 MinFreq=2.0 <-------- MaxFreq=6.0 <-------- What's the Unit of Measurement the Game Uses? CanJamCW=FALSE Also, For the new Members, You might explain what these and the new Entries mean.
  6. Now if We can only get TK to do the same with the Pilots Folder and giving them TextureSets that are controled by the Squadron.ini, We'd really be in it.......lol
  7. Very Excellent Information......I'll be using it. I'm a Weapons Man. Not a ECM Man. I'm at Yall's mercy when it comes to this kind' stuff.......Great work Fubar512 and C5...
  8. This makes the "Range" Terrain a must. As one does a Weapon, One can test it and tweak it to ones liking. This also elimiates Weapons that a User deams as Useless and only build his/hers Weapons Folder as one wants. It also allows one to tweak Weapons related Effects to a Users wants or needs also. But this doesen't mean that the production of Weapons should cease. On the contrary, It means more and more accurate Weapons, depending on ones needs or wants. Also, the addition of Drop Tank Skins in the Aircrafts Skin Folders reduces the number of Entries somewhat, keeping from repeated Entries....
  9. I don't know if it's been mentioned, But be sure that You have a WeaponsData.ini in that Weapons Folder...... Not to be confused with a .DAT File....... For Example: AIM-9L_Data.ini in the AIM-9L Folder.
  10. Very Cool Fubar, Looking foward to the Chart.......Might suggest making it a Post in the KB too....
  11. Originally designed for the TSR2, But the Mk.7 Model H7 was used alot in F-4's... Martin Baker Mk. 7 Series.... 12. Deacon211 was a member here and was a AV-8B Pilot in VMA-211. He and Kreelin came up with the Original FM for the AV-8C Add-on. He once told Me that Vertical Landing was like balancing an Elephant on the end of an Needle.....
  13. DUALMODE, Cool. I assume like ALQ-99 Types......Different Bands... I sould say, Noise and Deceptive in one....
  14. Kevin, You can be an evil dude.....lol
  15. Mike, No offence taken....All is good on a healthy Opinion. For the Marines, One can take the Harrier straight to the Battlefield. That was the most important factor. Remember, In the Marines, It's the Grunts first, then everything else. BTW, I was TAD to the Brittish Navy to help install SEAM Boxes on there Harriers prior to the Falklands. The Brittish where 28-0 Air to Air with them....
  16. Mike, I do respect Your opinion. It's a matter of taste. But as a CAS Platform, If You were a Grunt on the Ground, You'd love this Bird. I was an Ordnanceman on AV-8A/C's, TAV-8A's and AV-8B's from 1980 until 1992. The "Original" Harrier, The AV-8A/C was a "Concept" Aircraft until the Marine Corps decided to make three Squadrons Combat Operational and one Trainning Squadron by 1974. True, The A-C Harrier had it's shortcommings, But one would have to consider that it was the worlds first V/STOL Aircraft. In 1980, I was in VMA-231 when they set the World Record in "Turn Around" Time. One fully loaded, (Guns too) and fueled in just four and three quaters Minutes. For the Grunts on the ground, Time is lives. The second generation, The AV-8B, Was a marked inprovment over the "A-C's". More Weapons, more effective Gun, Better Avonics to take some of the workload off the Pilots. Upgraded engine. Easier to maintain. But still used the British Aerospace Airframe Concept. All this leads to this.......If this wasn't done, Then the V/STOL version of the F-35 would never come to light.....It's the Learning Curve. As for V/STOL Landings and Takeoffs, VMAT-203 Eagles based at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, Is the Marine Corps Transistion Tranning Squadron for all Harrier Pilots. They require that Pilots do a (one) Vertical Takeoff and Landing every Day. The rerason is it keeps the Pilots sharp as to the Cockpit workload in doing such Manuvers. Also, the Pilots will need to preform these tasks while aboard LHA-LPH Type Carriers. Granted, under "Full Load" Conditions, VTOL is not the prefered method. STOL is more preferred. Many of the Members here have touched on the reasons why. But "Full Load" VTOL is still practiced. Workload on Pilots durning this is intencive. Many, I recall, returned dripping with sweat from such Takeoffs and Landings. Just My two Pennys..... Semper Fi, 331KillerBee
  17. VC-33...... From AbleDogs.com
  18. Remember, You've got to have an .LOD File in every Folder for it to work.........
  19. OK.....The biggest problem I see is Editting the Effects....Most of the "Old" Effects were done in DX9. The new SF2 Effects and Particalsystem.ini uses new "Plug-in's" for DX10. Many of the "Old Effects" are just outdated by the "New Effects". With that said, It's just like Fubar512 said, It's just a matter of editting in Note Pad....... You can still use the "Old Effects". But I suggest giving the new ParticalSystem.INI a once over.... BTW......You'll find the F4AFTERBURNER there too......hint,hint...
  20. If You get the Weapons Pack that AOCBravo and Team did......Alot of the work is already done....
  21. 1,395 folders.......working so far.....
  22. Everything is smooth.......Just watch the ECM Pods. There's about two to three new entries for them.... MinFreq= MaxFreq= CanJamCW=<-- I assume either TRUE or FALSE.
  23. Now have 900 Weaps and climbing....... Just like Ground Objects......hummm
  24. OK. But You know, Word Pad would be better. It'll read Unicode.......
  25. And if You know Uni-Code, You can make the .Dat too.....
