Looking for a good planning map
474th_Fiftycal posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hello to all, Does anyone know is there a printable version of the in game map that could be used to mark known locations of radar and sam sites. I have searched the KB threads and have been very interested in flying DID style but it seems to me a planning map would be much more detailed espically with marked locations of known enemy surface sites. -

Repalceing stock aircraft in a campaign
474th_Fiftycal posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hello, it is possible to replace the stock aircraft in a campaign with a third party add on aircraft. I was wanting to replace the stock F4E in the linebackerII campaign with the Mirage factory F4E ARN-101. I have read the KB on edit a campaign but I must of missed something. I have the cat extractor tool and extracted the linebacker II file i tried to edit the squardrons that flew the F4E with the F4E ARN-101 but that did not work thought it seemed to easy. Is it possible to do this or must i make a complete new campaign. -

Thanks Migbuster,The tanks that came with the ARN 101 are different they are named f4370ARN and the centerline is named 610ARN these do not show up in game at all. I went looking for a weapon editor and noticed there was more than one and wasn't sure what version I needed. So for now I just edited the F4 ARN-101 data ini to use the stock F4 tanks. I also have not added any weapons packs couldn't find any documentation anywhere to see if maybe i needed one of those for the tanks. -
Mirage factory F4E ARN_101, missing drop tanks
474th_Fiftycal posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I do have one question regaurding the F-4 ARN-101 from Mirage factory, I have no drop tanks either in my campaign or in single mission, they are available in the stores section of the loadout screen but in the drop downs they are not listed for either wing stations or the centerline. Any advice on how to get them displaying in Game. I am flying the 08 patch of WOV. -

Thanks Raven I'll try that out. I think that i am missing the tanks that came with the ARN-101 I can edit the F4 data ini and change it from F4 370 ARN for the wing tanks to F4 370 and the centerline from F4 610 ARN to F4 600 and have the stock tanks but the new tanks are not listed in the game. -

Ok I got it to work I was reading Migbuster's post and followed his link to adding AC in SF2 series. I found that in the campaign2 ini file I edited the squardron and default texture, and now i have the Arn-101 flyable in my linebacker II campaign. I do want to thank you Malibu43, and Migbuster for your help. I am an old ex USAF crew cheif turned wrenches on a few F-4's in my day but i am not very good and computer files and editing things. I do appricate all your help. -

Thanks for the help, i did edit the linebacker II ini file and renamed the F4E to F4E ARN-101 it is excatly what is in the objects folder for the aircraft. When i started a new campaign it shows the F4E ARN-101 as my aircraft but the loading screen and the aircraft is still the stock F4E. -

I extracted the linebacker II files All I changed was the aircraft from F4E to F4E ARN 101. I did not put the ini files in the campaign folder they are still in the flight folder where the cat tool extracted them to. So i should over write the ini files located in the campaign folder with the new one correct. Btw thanks for the quick replys. -

Wow Is the first word that comes into mind, besides stunning. The whole upgrade was painless with super easy to follow directions and when I first loaded up a mission I was speechless. Talk about adding some Immersion. Thank you. -

Well first let me start by saying hello to the community of pilots here, I have been away from the sim for a few years. Just got the stock original WOV running and jumped headlong into a campaign. So here is my question your flying along at 25,000ft when your RWR lights up like a chritmas tree in times square, The Ai are screaming like a group of school children who just got flashed by a 90 year old grandma who forgot to tie up her robe, SAM Launch Sam Launch!! So I have edited my F-4 to carry chaff and flares, and always load up ecm pods when available, but there's so many sams being launched that making a manuver to avoid one may put me right into the path of another, what is a pilot to do. The last two missions after depleting my supply of chaff, and trying to spoof the missiles by switching the ecm on and off I have had to turn tail and run and not completing my mission is not the outcome I was looking for. When your in Hot, and the Sams are comming up what do you do to survive. -

Hello all, I have been flying Il2 for a while now, looking to get into some early era jet sims, was going to try strike fighters but could not find any support for track IR.I did decide to get WOV.I am curious as to how well the game play and the mission builder stack up against IL2.I think I found a link for track IR support for WOV any one using CH products have a profile for WOV they would like to share?I use the fighterstick pro throttle and pro pedals. I am an ex USAF crew cheif and am interesed in re creating some of the early FB missions flown by F-100 pilots in the early years of the Vietnam war, allways wanted to pilot a{lead sled}does the game allow enough immersion to re create the feeling of realism. I read a couple of reviews on the graphics said comparable to IL2. Any way just a couple of questions untill i get the game and get it installed appr. any replies Thanks. -
