very nice! -
Have noticed of late that some of the fellows I remembered from years of ThirdWire dedicated forums are slowly waning. Some would say that is sad, some would point to the 32,000 plus members here and say "so what". I, being firmly entrenched in one of those categories (guess which), say it is a big deal. No disrespect, but my doubts are strong that without some of those people this community would not have survived the pre-patch and pre-patch 2 days. There are some still around from the "wal-mart release" era, but too few. Sure, the reasons are many and some perhaps are not so missed. Of course there are some great members of the "post-Modern" era that really make it awesome (I am talking about the few females are here now as well as the truly cool people who keep this forum lively and open). I read Dave's thread regarding finances and I read serverandenforcers thread on temperament. If you (and I mean you) have not read those, then please do; if you already did, then do what I did and read them again. Personally I miss the Column5 Forum. It was far more level-headed over there. We called each other names, but friends do that. I mean, it really is not my fault that Dave is a Detroit Lions fan...he has gone to the recovery meetings, but denial is not just a river in Egypt. It runs right next to Saints fans and one could argue the post-Modern Saints, the Texans (who are really just the Oilers Mk.II and we all know how well they performed). That being said, say thanks to those that contributed, to the forum moderators, to the modders, and to those that kept a game alive despite some very painful adolescence moments. Of course, especially to TK, who made/makes it all happen. And rainbows... Cheers

sparkomatic replied to column5's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Sorry, know I have been away for awhile...what B-36 ?!?!!?!?!? You guys made an Aluminum Overcast and I missed it? So what did the F-101 get released as well? cheers -
no doubt that guy somehow finds a job at the Cowboys...never understood why JJ loves the drama queens, but he loves the drama queens...

Do they accept contributions like C5 did, outside of the subscription? Also, and someone else mentioned it, but perhaps a limiting feature...I have used and thoroughly enjoyed flightsim.com for over 10 years and they have a cap per 24-hour cycle...basically one can download a given amount during a "day" and then it is off to enjoy what you just received for free. I have long said that too many people in this community download stuff and then ask for more stuff...no freakin' way people have actually used each of these fine projects to their fullest...heck all of the excellent F-4 paint schemes alone are staggering. But its too often download the MiG-28 then "cool, when will the MiG-28B and did you consider the MiG-28C, that one is my all time favorite!111!!!" thread...seriously. And my personal idea: pay per post...that is right...pay for posting...that should limit the "me too" and "look I posted to watch my post count go up". What Dave et al do around here is great and I for one, cannot say thank you enough. Cheers!

So last week I bought my annual Roth IRA contributions for the year...and by Friday my meager choices were already posting gains to my account of +4%...now a week later and I just lost -10% of that total amount...in one lousy week...on just that account. Of course I realize that other people lost more money but that is what they do...so do not compare this thread to Wall St or Fannie Mae...I set it at the level of you and me, the average citizen...how is everyone else faring right now? Guess I will go back to watching 1975 re-runs of Dr. Who on DVD and avoid the window ledges... * And yes, I had it diversified according to Kiplers and Money and Morningstar and Janus and T Rowe Price and every other freakin guide book out there. ** Glad that I postponed starting a TSP (Thrift Savings Plan...like a government 401k that does NOT match...I know, why bother?)

So I never watch television...except CSI, MXC or ATHF...but only on DVD...then we moved and now we have cable in anticipation of something called "winter"...now I like to stare at Discovery channel and NatGeo and pretend that I am learning something...somehow the fact that water heaters will explode if not properly maintained seems pale compared to Differential Equations. But this feature on Stonehenge was cool...now I know how it worked...maybe...it was 5,000 years ago...maybe those dead dudes were like "hey, man...I have this idea...its going to take them like 5,000 years to figure out why we built this silly stone circle when in reality all we had to do since Al Gore and the British had not yet invented the Internet was stare at rocks" Yeah...caught that also? Some clever fellows now claim that the Brits invented the Internet...nice...guess you invented apple pie and base ball while you were at it, eh? Personally, I have a theory...Stonehenge was the first p0rn "web site"...they would project shadows of...you know, p0rn on the giant rocks. I mean, these people are related to those crazy fellows that figured that three stars in a row was Orion's Belt and other odd things I never, ever figured out was supposed to be shapes out of random star patterns. I mean have you looked at Capricorn? Those random stars are supposed to represent a half-goat/fish thing? Seriously dude, put down the mead or whatever. Thus, since they clearly had such vibrant imaginations and no one to tell them how poor and helpless they were what with the Democrats still blissfully thousands of years away, they had to do something to corrupt their brain cells. And thus p0rn was born on giant rocks on the Salisbury Plain...and then the British invented the Internet...cheeky b@stards.

Dude, your feet are the foundation of your body...dont screw with it...certain things in life one does not skimp on: Toilet paper Peanut Butter Condoms Foot wear (not saying you need $600 Nike Poombahs) Cheaping on any of the above will lead to more expensive consequences later in life...

CNN Late Breaking News: Column5 Gets a Date For decades, Column5 has resided in Memphis, TN, and never actually kissed a girl. That all potentially comes crashing to a halt with what one reporter called "just plain crazy talk" about him dating a person or persons unknown. http://www.cnn.com/

that is a good book...also try "Route Pack Six"...then "Bury Us Upside Down" hey there used to be a book review thread, but that forum is now gone...
-
dude...if it blows us all up well then there is nothing to worry about, eh? You cant stop it so there is no need to fret...happens/happens. But I would keep a careful study of your front left window though...that is where the ninjas prefer to approach...good luck

hey, remember when we used to post birthday-girl-pictures? Hehehe...those were the days...think that was back in the pre-patch 2, eh?

Fear not, this time we will be ready...

We will do no such thing...we are in a defensive posture ready to assist in the defensive of the Republic of Korea...there will be no "attack"...that is just silly. Besides, why bother? The US invades a country then just gives it back...hardly seems worth the effort.
