  1. Cool, let me know how it works for you, I might just snatch that myself :)
  2. I seem to remember there was one in the works a while ago but there has been no news of it for a long time, so I don't know if it's still being planned.

  4. No, that's ok, I felt kinda bad about it. I didn't want to get off to a bad start here, I'll most likely start uploading the decals only from now on anyway because of ofhow long it takes to upload on dialup :( with the exception of when I actually do some painting. I hope to do more of that soon.

  7. Sorry, I thought since it was the stock skin that came with the MiG-23s I didn't need to. I can update the read me file to give you credit. I went ahead and deleted the file until I have time to do so. Again, sorry for the mistake.
  8. Anyone happen to know the name of the font used to make the stock Soviet numbers?
  9. I've finally given up on making decals in PSP, and am looking on Ebay to getting a used copy of Photoshop. My question is, how old of a version can I get away with using, keeping in mind I'll just be using it for decals and the odd repaint.
  10. When I submitted my MiG-21 skin I submitted it to the Aircraft section by mistake. Could one of the admins please move it to the skins section?
  11. File Name: MiG-21F13 Algeria 1967 File Submitter: Bulldog File Submitted: 11 Jun 2007 File Updated: 11 Jun 2007 File Category: Mig-21 Textures for the Mirage Factory's MiG-21F-13, of the Algerian Air Force at the time of the Six Day War, June 5, 1967. Skin template by the Mirage Factory, decals are the stock Soviet decals tweeked by me (many thanks to LloydNB for his help!). Add this to your MiG-21F13 ini file: [TextureSetXXX] Directory=Algeria1967 Name=Algeria 1967 Nation=Algeria Specular=0.950000 Glossiness=0.650000 Reflection=0.650000 Replace the XXX with the next number in sequence. From acig.org: "Having gained its independence from France only in 1962, Algeria was a completely new appearance in the wars between the Arabs and Israel. The true extension of its participation in specific phases of this conflict remains largely unknown until today. In 1967 the QJJ was still a young service: the Algerian Air Force was formed only in November 1962 with Soviet and Egyptian help around five MiG-15s, 12 Gomhouriahs supplied from Egypt, and 12 Czech C.11s (Yak-11). After purchasing additional light aircraft and helicopters from the USA and France, in 1963 more combat aircraft were acquired from the USSR again, including 15 MiG-15bis, few MiG-15UTIs, 20 MiG-17Fs, and 12 Il-28s. After a short war with Morocco, in 1963, in 1964 and 1965 even more aircraft were received, including 20 MiG-17Fs, 12 additional Il-28s, and the first eight MiG-19s and six MiG-21F-13s. By June 1967 the Algerians therefore had a fully-developed regiment with three squadrons of MiG-17s, one bomber regiment with two squadrons Il-28s, a mixed fighter squadron with MiG-19s and MiG-21s, one squadron of MiG-15s and a transport regiment with a squadron each of An-12s and Il-14s. Almost all the Algerian MiG-17s and certainly all MiG-21s were sent to Egypt during the war. Flying via Tunisia and Libya the aircraft – formed into two “large” MiG-17-units, and one MiG-21-unit – they started arriving already on the afternoon of 5 June, although most followed on the following day." And now, the disclaimer...this skin works fine on my machine, if yours melts, it's not my fault! :P Enjoy! Bulldog jws1960(AT)earthlink(DOT)net Click here to download this file

  13. Yeah that was more what I was looking for.....
  14. I didn't think of that, thanks! Anything special I need to do to the file so it keeps its alpha channels? EDIT: Never mind, I see all I had to do is change the color.
  15. I've been toying with the idea of making skins for that period for awhile after seeing the article at acig.org, just for the fun of doing single missions over the Israel map, but as far as doing campaigns I was thinking of the doing a War of Attrition 67-70 campaign because no one has done it yet. I have a "first draft" skin now, but was wondering if there is a font that was a bit narrower then the USAF Stencil I used. img00013.bmp
  16. Lloyd you are the man! The way you describe how to do it is way different then how I've read previously, and a LOT easier. I now have decals! Thank you, thank you, and thank you...did I forget to say thank you? Now I can finally finish the MiG-21F-13 skin I've been wanting to do, of an Algerian MiG around the time of the 6-Day War, from a profile I found at acig.org. It was the number decals that was holding me back.
  17. Just found the right link myself. I'll give it a go.
  18. Actually it's PSP 7.01, I've tried a lot of the suggestions here and in other forums but it just doesn't seem to work. I have to admit I'm more used to Photoshop, I had 4.0 when I was using Macs and like it a lot, and had I not lost my copy of PS I'd fire up my old G4 and just do it with that (I made the mistake of replacing it on my G4 with 5.0 LE, which will not create alpha channels) . But I will check out that link Lloyd. If I can save some $$ I'm all ears...
  19. Another campaign that would fit here is the War of Attrition that took place between the 6 Day & Yom Kipper Wars. I've been toying with the idea of doing it for over a year now but have not got too serious about it yet. The only page I've found on it is http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_263.shtml but it does not give the OOBs for the time, which has been what's stopping me. Then again I'm not sure if it'd be much different then the other campaigns.
  20. Can't believe I missed this post. Not surprised that it started a Cat vs Bug debate, lol...
  21. I don't know if this is old news or not, but there is a new F105D-25RE that came out last month: http://www.digitalstrike.eu/Aircrafts/F105..._F105D25RE.html
  22. Fokker E.III - RELEASED

The Turkish skin is a real treat. Now we just need WW1 versions of the Israel and DS terrains (as Palestine and Mesopotamia fronts of course)...hint hint.
  23. Since I got WOV I have noticed that sometimes when I'm doing a campaign from a carrier, on the return leg on autopilot the carrier is lying dead in the water and is not at the heading it should be according to the waypoints...I approach the ship from either port or starboard, and if I were to continue I'd crash into the side. Any way to fix this?
  24. No problem, thanks for the tips!
  25. Finally looked at the missions list and found the carrier landing one...doh...I'm starting to think flying manual may be a more realistic way to do it. Any tips drdoyo?
