Shiloh, I read a few years ago about the possibility of another Thief game being made but sadly, it dosnt seemed to have happened. Although i enjoyed the game play a lot,i think things like the background music and sometimes witty diologue between the gaurds added a lot to the experience. My fav sequence or level was "Widow Moira's Mansion" with the thunder storm raging and that eerie piano music.Wonderful stuff. Hector.

I would say Thief Deadly Shadows ia the one for me.The game has a wonderful atmosphere about it and i would often get so immersed in it that i forgot all about time.Ive lost count how many times i have replayed it.The graphics are probably a little dated now by todays standards but still not bad. I dont really buy game anymore but have got into the Assassins Creed series and really enjoy them. Hector.

The two airmen are seen sitting upright and moving their upper bodies slightly so i would imagine there were no serious spinal injuries. The one with the bandaged head may have broken a leg/s and that is possibly why he's carted off on a stretcher.I broke my own back in three places and one of those was a crushed vertebra and no way could i sit upright as the pain was horrific. Having said that, they also found an old fracture and i remembered being hurt 20 yrs previous.I also remembered that after a few days i was ordered to start traing again and it was absolute agony until eventually the pain eased. The fracture was never spotted on ordinary xrays and it was only seen 20yrs later when i had MRI and Catscans after my accident. Fascinating clips. It said in the second one that the pilot survived but it also looks like the observer made it as well.I would love to know what miracle was at work that day to spare those two airmen. Thanks for the links elephant. Hector.

OT Interview with a Rorkes Drift Soldier
Hector replied to UK_Widowmaker's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
There are a few inaccuacies in the film to the actual battle but i imagine this was done for the sake of making the film much more entertaining,so to speak. I read quite some time ago that due to the Aparthied laws at the time, the Zulu extras were either badly paid or possibly not at all(cant remember it accurately now). This really bugged Stanley Baker and he got around this by giving the Zulus all the cattle that were used after the filming had ended. Slightly OT here..Apparently the Zulus do not name their children like we do in the Uk.Here we name or at least used to name the first born after the father or mother. They will give the child a name because they simply like the sound of it.I forget the Zulu for a particular child but it translated as "Miss overhead powercables",which i thought was quite funny Hector -

What did you do in the War Dad?
Hector replied to Flyby PC's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Mike, Many years ago when i was staying in Osnabruk,we went to visit Arnhem and Oosterbeek one Sunday.I remember in one garden there was a tall piece of wood(may even have ben metal)with a plaque attached to it.It said something like "dedicated to the men of the airborne who landed and fought here".My uncle who had had a few on the journey up declared,"we are airbornee, lets knock the door and say hello"."I disuaded him by saying that the occupants now were probably not the same ones as 1944.I have no idea if your photo and the plaque has any connection but thought id mention it anyway.Although the museum was closed we still had a great day. H i all. After many years of using headphones with my computer,i have decided its time for some speakers again but i havnt a clue whats out there. The sort of sound i like is a lot of bass and rumble, plenty of shanga langa boom to upset the neighbours Any ideas? Thanks Hector.

Thanks for the input guys I am not really looking for something so expensive that i have to organise a mortage, armed robbery or mug the local kids of their pocket money As i have used headphones solely for approx 14yrs now,i find it odd listening to desktop speakers.Mind you,i get great sound from the phones and the speakers are cheapies so maybe that has something to do with it. Thanks again Hector

Hi I installed the latest mini patch a few days ago and all seemed fine until the next time i ran BHAH.My French Nupe 17 campaign had started to throw up errors like ... "Friendly ace aircraftData FileError EOR Check=EOR Record number 10".then FE2b C/OBD Software etc,etc....everytime i tried to start a new mission. This also happened in a German 1917 camapign which i also abandoned. Then today everything else became corrupted..guns firing with no trigger pressed, hat views jumping all over the place and so on.(I tested the joystick in FSX and it was fine). I have reinstalled BHAH three times today and all seems fine with patch1.30 and 130c mini patch but once i add the latest patch,it starts throwing up the above errors again in the Nupe17 campaign. I will go back to patch 1,30c but i was curious if anyone else had experienced this or knew what is maybe happening? Thanks for your help Hector
