Does anybody have detailed information on this aircraft? Detailed 3-Views, Performance Charts, Technical Lists, anything of that sort? I'd appreciate whatever information I can get. Thanks

SAAB JA-37 Viggen Information
SDirickson replied to SDirickson's topic in General Flight Sim Discussion
I was actually thinking of modelling it for X-Plane. I kinda tired of the idea though. Thanks though. -
How do you go about becoming a comissioned pilot for the Army? I know most helo pilots are warrant officers, but aren't there still commissioned pilots of both helos and fixed wing aircraft in the Army? All the recruiters I have asked can't tell me a single thing about becoming one.
-
Ranger, no joy with any of the emails. I've only actually recieved one from you, and it had no message attached.
-
Ranger, email away. Didn't they get the nickname from the old leather neck guards they used to wear to keep from being decapitated by saber's and cutlasses?
-
Alrighty, Ranger, back on subject, lol I checked those links, but couldn't find any definate answers. So, nobody here knows for sure how to become a commissioned pilot for the Army?
-
The reason I was asking is cuz right now I'm signed up for the Army's Early Commissioning Program. I didn't get an appointment to the AF Academy (For really a pretty s**tty reason, but thats another story) and right now NROTC is having problems getting their act together. NROTC just sent me a letter saying it'll be till mid-June before they announce scholarship recipients. So... ECP at NMMI is my current plan. More than anything, I want to be a pilot, and it doesn't matter what I fly so long as it's combat. Helicopters are my first choice, but I want to make sure I'm an officer instead of a WO, so thats why I'm a bit hesitant about the Army. I've asked my local recruiters, and they can't tell me anything about Army Aviation cept the quickest way is to be a WO.

I highly recommend downloading this or buying it. I've been playing Day of Defeat since around version 2, and I have to say its the best WWII FPS I've ever played. Definately worth the money, especially since its free.
-
www.dayofdefeat.com Right now, you can download the mod free, but you have to already own a copy of Half-Life. Soon they will be releasing it as a stand alone product, compatible with both it and the Half-Life versions.

Only $4.00 huh? Not too shabby.

Rollyurown campaigns and missions?
SDirickson replied to pcpilot's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
I'll certainly test it out, though I have a bad track record for playing campaigns all the way through. -

I'm loving the excellently rendered aircraft shadows, and the doppler shifted sound effects. -

True story of a Navy A-6 BN surviving a partial ejection.
SDirickson replied to navychief's topic in The Pub
Thats like the deck hand that got sucked through the A-6 intake and ejected out the back. Not a good feeling, I would suspect. -
What I've gleaned so far from the forums is that evidently a group of people think that SP4 is going to be sold, not free, so they compiled as many of the freely released models and artwork, etc, an tied it into a comprehensive and user friendly installer. Now, I don't know the details behind it all. I'm sure some people had there models released without their approval or consent. Then again, if they gave the models to the community for free, I can't see how they can get angry if due credit was given, which I believe it was. Also, as any of you know who have worked intimately with F4, its always been a big buggy pain. This was the first time I've ever had a painless install, no errors at all. To that, I give a big hearty <S!> As you can see, I do not know nearly as much about the situation as I could, but I would definately like to be filled in. This could blow up to be a major blow to F4, or it could jumpstart the community again.

What I meant was, do they include custom jobs for non F-16's, but I guess they don't. One thing that immediately impressed me, most aircraft have accurate guns. The F-100 has a nice set of 20mm's. I don't know if it really is any different, but it sounds different.

Holy moly, Batman! Thats awesome! Dusting off the Falcon 4.0 CD as we speak. Actually, its a pretty light coating, I normally don't put it down for long, lol. How are the cockpits though? Is it still the universal F-16?

Welcome to the WWII Fighters forum!
SDirickson replied to MadJeff's topic in General Flight Sim Discussion
I remember having some strange looking 3D clouds, but other than that, its still an excellent sim. -
As long as its a realistic FPS, like OpFlash and AAO. Those I can definately see being added. I'd like the site to stay primarily dedicated to flight sims especially, however.

Not when the window at which your mom was standing not even 15 seconds ago got completely shattered, with glass shards everywhere. That was the scarriest part. I mean, I'll agree that they are a neat phenomenon, but seriously, they are frightening as hell when you've got on bearing down.

Good idea, Cowboy. Fulda Gap in '53 would rock hardcore.

Dude, one went down the street in front of my house back in '92. Only broke a couple windows, but down the street we had chimneys torn out and roofs demolished. Tornados scare the bejeezus out of me. They are kinda cool though, just from far away.
