  1. 50 points if...

And to that I will have to secede the point. Can't tell ya for the life of me. Oh, BTW, its Dirickson. 'r' before the 'ck', and no 'e'.
  2. 50 points if...

Kinda ironic, I just saw a this on the History Channel about an hour ago, Coincidence?
  3. 50 points if...

The rope was used in early ship battles for Marine snipers to properly identify comrades on the enemy ship through the smoke. The Marine snipers were in the top rigging of the ship, and could see down and pick out the little rope.
  4. Jag, its an excellent sim. Realistic, excellent graphics, you'll get great frame rates and it has a pretty steady fan base.
  5. Alright, I feel funny, lol. When I posted above, somebody had posted something about finding that picture on Google, and then switching it. Am I going crazy?
  6. Hey, just cuz the serial number painter is dislexic doesn't give you the right to diminish his work
  7. Harvard vs. Florida State... good laugh

    Thats awesome!
  8. LO:MAC Website gone?

Just wne to the LO:MAC website as part of my morning ritual, and I found that it has been replaced by a generic UbiSoft site. Whats the deal? Just maintenance?
  9. LO:MAC Website gone?

1744 Central, and its down. Jag, you sure?
  10. LO:MAC Website gone?

Uh oh, its 1652 central and LO:MAC is tits up again.
  11. They shouldn't be. If I remember correctly, the throttle and the rudder control both have a gameport that plugs into the stick, so you only have one real connection to the PC. I think.
  12. Raven, I used to use a Precision 3D. I love those twist handles. Its really a great way of controlling rudder. My Saitek X-45 has the rocker control on the throttle, but its not the same. Can't wait to get the new Simped rudder pedals though.
  13. Jag, you can't buy them new today. Thrustmaster has come out with a totally new HOTAS, basically a revamped version of the equipement you are purchasing. Thrustmaster doesn't even offer rudder pedals anymore, period. For the new stick and throttle, the cheapest price is $269.99 at amazon.com. For a good set of pedals, at least $80. If you want to compare used prices on the exact same equipement, try ebay. Thats the only place I have seen with any older Thrustmaster joysticks available.
  14. LO:MAC Website gone?

Yeah, they must have been doing some updating to the code or something. Earlier, you can trust me, it was definately not up. False alarm, I guess. Scary how LO:MAC is getting such a bad reputation that something like that can make us all a little jumpy.
  15. Two great illustrations......

My computer science teacher is a retired CPO; John Spicer. Great guy.
  16. REQUEST FROM ALL OF YOU

Seems not. How old is it?
  17. I read a preview for Il-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles which spoke of the G model Stuka, and it's 37mm flak cannons. The reviewer commented on how actually inadequate the cannons are against Russian armor, since it is, after all, only a 37mm shell against armor even 50mm tank cannons couldn't penetrate. But, I'd have to disagree, and I'd like to know if I am correct. It seems to me that two things would make the Stuka a better anti-tank platform, even with only 37mm cannons. First, shouldn't you be performing your run in's at a dive, which means your cannon shells should be penetrating into the top, or upper sides of the tank? Second, and this is what makes me question the actual potence of the flak cannons, if you are in a Stuka, roaring in at about 300 kph, or greater, doesn't that add a lot to the muzzle velocity of the shell? I know in A2A dogfights, you always get much greater damage out of your guns in a head on pass, because of the closure speeds. Also, in the current Il-2, the Yak-9T (Or, K?) has a 45mm cannon, not much larger than the Stuka's, yet I can consistantly take out a tank with a single shell, even head on, especially head on! And the Stuka has two! Thats 74mm, :D , jk. BTW, it was the B section of the third installment of the www.il2center.com preview.
  18. I dunno about Maddox being unrealistic. Frankly, I think that historically the Russians had better performing aircraft, but poorly trained pilots. The Germans had excellent pilots which more than made up for the slight gap between aircraft performance. But Snapple, if you get tired of the huge number of people devoted to Russian aircraft, host your own maps with historical period aircraft, or 100% Luftwaffe aircraft. Besides, the Bf-109K and the Fw-190D should close the gap a lot. I've never had trouble getting good kills with any Luftwaffe aircraft with the Mk.108 cannon installed. Its pretty wicked. And I wasn't complaining about Il-2 or FB's realism, just the reviewer's opinion.
  19. Nice pic, Ranger. It really is uncanny how realistic simulations and training are becoming, that you have to remind yourself that it is actual war. BTW, where in Texas do ya live? <-- Houston.
  20. New Janes sim in the works!

Jesus man! You seriously got my hopes up, despite the fact that I knew they had gone out of the sim works.
  21. Hey, if you guys want a replacement for the LO:MAC vid, check out www.il2sturmovik.com for a Forgotten Battles video. Definately mouth watering.
  22. I hadn't heard any positive opinions of the Republican Guard either.
  23. YESSSSSS
