FOKKER DR1 JASTA 2 PAUL BÄUMER FOR FE2


Fokker Dr.1 Jasta 2 Paul Bäumer skin Pack for First Eagles 2

What you will find in this Fokker Dr.1 skin Pack:
 
- A full set of skins to FokkerDr1 by Third Wire Productions used by Vzfw Paul Bäumer (later Leutnant), Ace of the Jasta 2 'Boelcke'.
- All Fokkers use historical serial numbers and work numbers.

This package in question shows the known ace Vzfw Paul Bäumer of this squadron.
2 triplanes used by Paul Bäumer, from January 1918 to May 1918. Dr.I, with 3 versions for German crosses. (early, late & later).

Paul Bäumer was born on 11 May 1896 in Duisburg, Germany. He was a dental assistant before World War I, and earned a private pilot's license by Summer 1914.
At the start of the war, he joined the 70th Infantry Regiment. He served in both France and Russia, being wounded in the arm in the latter. He then transferred to the air service.
After serving with Flieger Abteilung 7, He subsequently received training on single-seaters, consequently being posted to fighter duty. Bäumer joined Jagdstaffel 5 on 30 June 1917, scoring three victories as a balloon buster in mid-July before going to the elite Jasta Boelcke. Bäumer, nicknamed "The Iron Eagle", was one of the few pilots in World War I whose lives were saved by parachute deployment, when he was shot down in flames in September. He received the Pour le Mérite shortly before the Armistice and was finally credited with 43 victories, ranking ninth among German aces.

After the war, Bäumer became a dentist, and reportedly one of his patients, Erich Maria Remarque, used Bäumer's name for the protagonist of his antiwar novel 'All Quiet on the Western Front'. Continuing his interest in flying, Bäumer Together with his friend and WW1 Ace, Harry von Bülow-Bothkamp founded a aircraft company in Hamburg the "Bäumer Aero". The company went bankrupt in the course of the Great Depression. Paul Bäumer, later, acting as a freelance test pilot, died in an air crash at Copenhagen on 15 July 1927, age 31, while test flying a Rohrbach Ro IX fighter.

Note that these colors are merely speculative.

- You will find also an optional Normal map (DR1_6_BUMP.bmp) figure which works best with the new Spandau machine gun I painted.
This is not mandatory. All Fokkers Dr.1 will work normally without this DR1_6_BUMP.bmp as well.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

FE2 INSTALLATION - This skin do not uses decal files, so will be easy install.

- Drop or copy the inside contend of the folder "FokkerDr1" to your "FokkerDr1" folder. 

*ATTENTION*

In order to work properly on your loadout menu option, Inside the pack, there is a (JASTA 2 INSTALLATION README) with a sequence of following lines, that must to be COPIED into your "FokkerDr1".ini file.

As an example:

Replace the (XXX) in the [TextureSetXXX] top line, with the appropriate number following your "FokkerDr1.ini" file order for others skins that you have already installed before.

- Drop or copy the inside contend of the folder "FokkerDr1" (DR1_6_BUMP.bmp) to your "FokkerDr1" folder.
