Fokker Dr.1 Jasta 2 (Pilots) skin Pack for First Eagles 2 _________________________________________________________ What you will find in this Fokker Dr.1 skin Pack: - A full set of skins to FokkerDr1 by Third Wire Productions used by the Prussian Jasta 2. 'Boelcke' - All Fokkers use historical serial numbers and work numbers, although some do not belong to the designated aircraft. I opted for this, just to give more fidelity to each aircraft. This package in question shows some of the known aces and pilots of this squadron. 7 triplanes used by Jasta 'Boelcke' from January 1918 to June/July 1918. Most of Dr.I, with 3 versions for German crosses. (early, late & later) Jasta 'Boelcke' used the Fokker Dr.1 from January to June 1918, with some pilots, during that period, achieving victories with it. The squadron, along with Jastas 26, 27, and 36, formed the "Jagdgeschwader III". Jasta 'Boelcke' became the second most successful german fighter unit; it ended the war with 23 aces and a total of 336 victories. Losing 31 pilots killed in action (KIA), 2 killed in Flying accident (KIFA), 9 wounded in Action (WIA) and 2 prisoners of War (POW) At the beginning of June, the triplanes began to be replaced by the excellent Fokker DVII aircraft. Pilots with Jasta 'Boelcke' that flown Fokker Dr.1 (Pack 01) - Ltn. Harry von Bülow-Bothkamp, ace with 6 victories. Fokker Dr.1 (unknown serial & w/n) (fuselage blue band) (Dr.1 flown probably by Harry von Bülow). - Ltn. Hermann Frommherz, ace with 32 victories. Fokker Dr.1 (unknown serial & w/n) - Ltn. Hermann Vallendor, ace with 6 victories. Fokker Dr.1 195/17 (w/n 1913) - Oblt. Karl Bolle, ace with 36 victories. Fokker Dr.1 413/17 (w/n 1997) CO. of Jasta 2 from February 1918 until the end of WWI. Fokker Dr.1 (unknown serial & w/n) Probably Bolle's reserve triplane. - Ltn. Otto Höhne, ace with 6 victories. (White X) Fokker Dr.1 (unknown serial & w/n) CO. of Jasta 2 from January to February 1918. (Dr.1 was flown probably by Otto Höhne). - Unknown pilot of Jasta 2. Fokker Dr.1 (unknown serial & w/n) (no personal markings) Note that these colors are merely speculative. _________________________________________________________ - You will find also an optional Normal map (DR1_6_BUMP.bmp) figure which works best with the new Spandau machine gun I painted. This is not mandatory. 12. I finished a large collection of Fokker Dr. 1 triplanes. Jasta 'Boelcke' will be the first to be released for First Eagles 2. The collection will be splited into different packages to make the downloading easier. The highlights include Paul Bäumer and Fritz Kempf triplanes several versions and others known pilots & aces like Ltn. Karl Bolle, CO. of Jasta Boelcke. I've painted practically all the Dr. 1s used by the main German Jastas, with all the known pilots from these squadrons. So there will be a flood of skins. I'll follow the numerical order for the Jastas releasing. Jasta 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 26, 27, 34b, 36 and 59. there will be also, a highlights for Josef Jacobs, Ernst Udet, von Tutschek, Hermann Becker, August Raben, Erich Löwenhardt, Lothar & Manfred von Richthofen and other pilots with their triplanes.
  13. "Hud'n-Hud'n" For those who don't know the story. The expression means nothing. The most commonly told version to explain the origin of the term, is that it originated during the Vietnam War. Probably on the first cruise of VF-194, when a drunken VF-194 pilot said that the mopeds they used to get to their aircrafts, to they sounded like... "hud'n-hud'n". The joke became the squadron's battle cry for the remainder of the war. Some F-8s had this motto painted on the center of their wings. This was the case with Commander Billy Phillips F-8E. This F-8 was shot down by SAMs on a subsequent tour with new painting and serial number (402)NM. Unfortunately, the pilot Lt(jg) Robert Charles McMahan was unable to eject and died. https://dpaa-mil.sites.crmforce.mil/dpaaProfile?id=a0Jt000000tdLgSEAU
