SF2 Lockheed TV/TO-1 'Shooting Star' Pack

SF2  Lockheed TV/TO-1 'Shooting Star' Pack                             7/12/2026

-For SF2 =ONLY= (Full/5 Merged Recommended)

Something 'a little unusual' and hopefully, a little bit fun

This mod to ErikGen's F-80 'Shooting Star' recreates the TO-1 version as used by the US Marines (and by inference, the US Navy) from 1948 through the mid 1950s. It was taken on as a transition trainer to help convert prop pilots to the "latest" jets. Atter 1950, the designation was change to "TV-1" as Lockheed's letter was change form "V" to "O".

This is the Full Aircraft Mod, with everything (hopefully!) included.

The skin remains in it's dds format, and is in Natural Metal Finish. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is true. All BuNums are historically correct, but I was unable to match to Modex numbers. So, consider them generic. There are 24 Modex and BuNums.  It carries the marking of the only USMC squadron to originally use them, VMF-311 'Tomcats' as based at MCAS El Toro, California. Historically, becoming the first West Coast Marine jet squadron (and 2nd USMC jet squadron). In 1950, the Tomcats transitioned to the F9F-2 Panther (and Korea), and the Shooting Stars were scattered to various squadrons for various uses.

Even though classed as a 'Trainer', the aircraft is fully Combat Capable; however, it is NOT Carrier Qualified. That's for a much later version (cough - T2V - cough).

Just about everything is included, ALL the drop tank versions, bombs (WW2 style), pilot figure and so forth. Please note, the HVAR rocked used are STOCK 3W items. You'll also be adding a 'new' sound, so have your SoundList ini extracted, or be ready to extract it and add the new sound's data. Full instructions are in below, in the "To Install" section.

On the Aircraft Selection Drop Down Screen you'll see:

TV-1 Shooting Star (TO-1 <52)

As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!!
Please read the Notes section for any other useless bits of information, the change log,
Please also take note of changes in the Standard Disclaimer in the "Legal BS" section at the bottom.

Happy Landings!
