ThefellowLan Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Hi everyone, I'm a DCS player dedicated to cyber archaeology in Eagle Dynamics' simulation games, and I strive to collect all the simulation games they release.I recently found a 3GO-MW Su-27 Flanker model for DCS 1.2.x on a forum, and successfully replaced the Su-27 airframe with the old Lock On model in version 1.2.5 (thanks to Steam's console commands and help from other flight sim players, I can currently download and play the non-open beta versions of DCS World from 1.2.5 to 1.5.5). Unfortunately, since ED updated the new Su-27 6DOF cockpit as early as version 1.2.4, and Steam's earliest supported download version is 1.2.5, I can't restore the Su-27 cockpit to the old Lock On model. But what's really strange is that the Su-33 cockpit in version 1.2.5 is still the old model from the Lock On era, and in a mod I downloaded and played called X-Control(X-Control Mod (Take Over control of AI planes) - Comunity open mod - Utility/Program Mods for DCS World - ED Forums), the Su-30 cockpit is actually the old Su-27 cockpit from the Lock On era. This means the old Su-27 cockpit is definitely in the game files, but I still can't figure out which file it is, and my attempts to replace it with files from the Lock On 2 era have also failed. So far in my collecting work, the only thing left unsourced are the mods from DCS 1.2.2 to 1.2.3 (I already have the base game). So the only way I could restore the earliest Flaming Cliffs 3 was by pasting old files onto version 1.2.5. I wanted to ask if anyone in the forum who’s made their own mods knows how to handle this, or if anyone still has the installation files for mods from versions 1.2.2 to 1.2.3. This is the last missing piece for my current project exploring the history of ED simulation games. Thanks a lot, everyone!
gerwin Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I think I have DCS v1.2.3 with all modules. Standalone non-steam version. Not at home to double check. I got the module installers for that old version from some SImHQ file links or direct SimHQ hosting.
