markkyle66 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Im trying to get the multiplayer to work on one of my two computers... both of which get their internet through a linksys broadband router! from what i can put together that complicates issues : / On the computer im having issues with when i join a session at hyper lobby it will load and then it will check files and then it will crash or say session not found after a few minutes of loading. The odd part is the game works on my other computer and its connected to the same internet too : / im confused and computer illiterate please help lol !

Guest capun Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 (edited) Your problem most likely is that the Linksys router needs to be set to Port Forward certain port ranges, but the Linksys only allows it to forward to one IP address, not to the network or to an IP range. I don't think you have enough slots for port forwarding for two systems. Go to ThirdWire's site and look for a tutorial by StreakEagle how to set your system for MP playing. If you have your systems set-up to do a dynamic IP configuration, then it won't work too well either. In my case I had to set the IP static on my system to allow the port forwarding. You could put the systems in the DMZ zone, but that exposes the systems to possible malicious attacks. Edited May 4, 2006 by capun
