valid installed copy of SF cannot be located

seems more bodies here than at 3rd wire..when attempting to install new patch I get:valid copy of SF could not be located. I removed the old, deleted all the left overs, installed from the Valusoft 12/25/03 version, per the instructions at 3rd wire, did not patch it with the previous patches, and made sure the recent DX9 april 06, is in there. any ideas?

You have the right patch with the rigth install. Valuesoft uses the SFG patch.

...no luck with that...same thing...removed it tried again..nada...with either of them...

wound up placing it in docs/settings then it took the SF, not the gold patch with no prob. Guessing something hiding in the reg files not allowing validation. Regardless, it works now. Thanks MTL and Lexx for your assist.
