Is there anyone that play multiplayer on line?

Hi everyboby this is my first post so excuse me if i posted in the wrong section or if i made any mistake:)

 

I was just wondering why hyperlobby is always empty in the SFP1 lobby, there is only Streakeagle on Wov!

 

Maybe i'm looking the wrong way to find someone playing a good dogfight, so i ask you guys, is there another way to meet people that want to play online?

 

I know that multiplayer is a bit silly on SPF1/WOV/WOE but with hamachi i had no problems playing with a guy

called Doghouse last night (ehi Doghouse if you see this message find a way to call me!!!) and that, althought i sucked like no one else, was a very good experience!

 

So, if anyone want to play on line post a replay send me a message please! I'm dreaming of a colossal like 6vs6 dogfight match that seem to me so hard to organize :(.

Allright we are already 3! we need only other 9 guys to join for our 6 vs 6, but till we find them, send me a private message so we can organize; i use X-fire to find mates to play with, teamspeak, and hamachi to setup the on line Lan network...

 

And to all the pilots out there!!! DONT BE SHY, post that you want to play online and you will be welcome...:)

Well, I was thinking about getting into some combat simming by getting this game and getting some Saitek controllers, but with no one online, it might not be as fun after all...

Well go for it U won't be let down... the FPS for this sim are un beatable compared...any way just fly it :yes:

 

What's Hamachi? and I only have SFP1 latest patch with some terrain and a few plane add ons...

Hamachi is a little program that lets you simulate a LAN over the internet. Everyone joins a "network"/channel (which you can PW protect if you want), then go into your favorite game and choose LAN for MP games and all you'll see are the servers on that.

Ok guys, it seems to me there is quite a few people interested in multiplayer game, we need to setup a way to get organized:

 

1- go to this link and download X-FIRE: http://www.xfire.com/download

 

2- go to this link and download HAMACHI: http://www.hamachi.cc/download/

(the 1.0.0.58 (beta) version)

 

3- go to this link and download TEAM SPEAK:http://www.goteamspeak.com/index.php?page=...loads&id=1a

We will need a server to get in TS but we'll find one...

 

For the first two softwares there is a little registration process, than at least we can find each other, my name in X-fire is the same i use here :)

 

After this few steps we'll organize everything you want: Coop, Dogfight, Formation flight, even acrobatic if you want, we'll play SFP1, WOV, WOE; we also can create a "default mod" some if some one want to fly with an add on aircraft he only has to tell other people witch file to download...we need peolpe, people and people...

CombatACE has a free teamspeak server. It works great. The beta testing group for WOE used it to test online MP without any issues.

 

The main obstacle is agreeing on what version to play. I suggest clean installs without any mods until everyone is able to join and fly successfully. Progressively add mods one at a time, i.e. add a new plane and/or weapon then see if everyone is still able to join/fly.

 

Do not add the weapons pack! MP for SFP1 game engine does not seem to like that large of a weapons pack. The CheckSix! community always builds a small custom weapons pack for their MP installs, which solves the problem.

 

I am more than willing to help anyone who needs help troubleshooting MP problems.

 

As I announced in another post, I am now hosting a merged WOE/WOV install on HL. Someone paged me via HL to let me know they were able to join and fly. So it works!
