I seem to be having a little problem with guns. I downloaded some planes from here, One being the hs75(also FW190, HO229). I have loaded them into wings over europe, and every thing is ok except, I have no ammo for my primary weapons. I checked the data.ini file and there is ammo there, and it states that they are 30mm_mk108. I went to the gun editor to make sure the gun is present, and it is there. I went to the Bullet_data.ini and noticed that the effect for the bullet is 30mmfireeffect and 30mmeffect. I noticed in the effect folder that I have no effect for these. Could this be causing my problem? If so, where would I find the effect. I downloaded dueces effects pack, and I do not see it there.

Freddy, run on over to Third Wire and check the home page. I believe there has been a fixed released that pertains to your issue.

Thank you for your suggestion.

I went to thirdwire and downloaded the Hotfix.exe. I noticed a patch while I was there and downloaded it also.

Now that was an adventure. I installed the patch, then got a dll error. Being foolish I followed the instructions on the screen to reinstall the program. Complete waste of time. I search the net, to find a new build of directX 9c and installed it. Got the game running, still no ammo. Installed the hot fix and still no ammo. I am going to attempt to change the Data.ini file to 20mm guns which I know does work on other planes. I will post the results. Still open to other suggestions.

To anyone having the D3Dx9_30.dll error after installing the game. You do not have to reinstall Wingsover europe. Ethier go to microsoft and download DX9c build apr 2006 and run it (53mb) or download just the D3Dx9_30.dll and put it in the route directory of the game.

Thanks all

First. lets get some things straight.

You are working with WoE, but have you installed Bunyap's weapons (and guns) pack properly?

Loading the gun editor is one thing. but you need to save it (not Save As) to create a new Gundata.dat and the file must be in the Objects folder.

The 30mm effects could be in one of the cat files.

I did not know Bunyaps weapons pack added guns also. I will load the gundata.dat file and save. (I did do it for the Weapons.ini) But the original data.ini file did contain the gun, before I loaded the weapons pack. I also have a cab extractor, so I will take a look in the cabs to see if the effect is present there.

Thanks for the suggestion
