NH2112 0 Posted October 26, 2006 WTF?i NEVER Saw a russian who did admit that american Tanks are better than theirs (which i dont believe on) If I'm reading you correctly you're saying you don't believe American/NATO tanks are better than Soviet/Warsaw Pact ones? I could probably point you towards some 24th Infantry Division (Mechanized) tankers whose M1A1s took multiple hits from T72s back in '91 without being critically damaged, and find plenty of pics of T72s with their turrets upside down about 15m away after being hit by 120mm APFSDS, TOW, or Hellfire. The M1 is so good, even another M1 can't destroy one.
BUFF 8 Posted October 26, 2006 The thing that amazed me about the M1 in the Gulf was the mobility kills on it (OK they were probably recovered & put back into action later) with rpgs etc.. It seems to have been quite vulnerable through the sideskirts.

They do have a relatively lightweight track compared to previous tanks, and road wheels aren't too hard to blow off. Tanks are all about trade-offs - an Abrams could be made invulnerable to everything but direct hits from a 16" shell from a battleship or Mk84, but then it'd have the mobility of a WW1 tank. In most cases they were also operating without dismounted infantry support, which in a traditional battle is tantamount to suicide for tankers.

Nesher 628 Posted October 27, 2006 Cool but all euro tanks have small arms like the P-90 and MP5 Great weapons... i'd like to take to range someday... but i think they are rare here... :( i love weapons... but i don't get any chance to shoot other than the M-16A1 :\ @Nesher,yes they must put in small guns, they dont have the space for larger onesor do you mean because UZI is israeli? Yes... because it's Israeli.. our troops (in the tank units of course) until a few years ago carried a Glilon (small IMI Galil AR) and now they have the M-16A1's Short variant of the AR and M4A1's (not 100% sure)... the Uzi is almost fully out of service in the IDF (i even fired one last year :))
gerald14 0 Posted October 27, 2006 (edited) i had shoot a P-90 and it is hard to get one. I never shot a MP5 because the law I like the P-90 it is weird to reload it. Edited October 27, 2006 by gerald14
