Gotha Bomber

I installed the gotha bomber and tried to fly it it had no skin on it and could not shoot guns anyone have a suggestion

Sounds like you may have missed something -- try reinstalling the plane. Be sure to follow the readme instructions, too. If that doesn't work, you may have a bad download. By the way, I don't think the Gotha has been updated to work with the current patch, so you may have some performance issues once you do get the bomber installed. Good luck!

I installed it and it works fine for me .... it's sluggish but you'd expect that for a heavy bomber .... even has a day and night skin. When flying it the pilot cannot shoot but the AI gunners swivel around and shoot when attacked ..... but you have to fly on normal FM otherwise you'll never get it off the ground.

 

The only odd thing I noticed was the default cockpit forward view looks incomplete with "clippings" or whatever you call it on the right hand side like there was some kind of issue with the front gunner or something ? It's fun though ..... but geez Archibald is deadly to Gotha's !

I can select different bombs in the loadout screen but when I fly this I cant select any of the bombs. All the bombers in my group doesnt drop any bombs.

Whats missing?

A-team says fm is fine for patch,mine works fine.as for missing tex., make sure you dont have a folder in a folder.move tex. folder into main plane folder.grumpy have you assigned a key or button to air to ground weapon?

GB, the default toggle selection for bombs/secondary ordinance is the backslash key (\). This brings up text that says you've selected whatever you picked in the loadout screen. I never noticed whether my squad mates dropped bombs on the designated target ..... I was too busy getting shot up by Archie lol.

Thanks Raven. You're right about the "folder in a folder" thing. I played around over the weekend with a number of a/c installs, camo's and cockpits to get FC's Plane Fest campaign working correctly. And then the patch upgraded DVa (old version used to appear) wouldn't appear in the single mission drop down menu .... ooops ! All the data files were there and titled correctly as DVa .... drove me nuts why it wouldn't show. Then I noticed there were folder within folder duplications in a few of the aircraft folders including the DVa so trimmed them down and went mad turfing out camo's and cockpits and replacing them elsewhere or deleting them and by some kind of sorcery or black magic it seemed to work. Still not sure exactly what I did LOL ?

 

Time to employ some witchcraft on the Gotha to see if those textures can be fixed.
