+LloydNB 212 Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) I've finally turned my hand to doing a Camel skin and I want to use the standard RAF roundals on the wings. After some trial and error I worked out the mesh name for the correct part of the wings but I'm stumped by the ailerons. I just can't get the roundals to appear as a complete circle. Does anyone know the solution? Cheers LloydNB Edited January 24, 2007 by LloydNB
+v. Deutschmark 69 Posted January 24, 2007 (S!) Guest capun Posted January 24, 2007 LLoyd Look at the OUT file to help you with the mesh names. For decals that overlap two meshes, for example the outer wing and aileron, the tailfin and rudder, declare the same decal twice with the same location, size, orientation, etc, one for each of the meshes. As they overlap, they should display the full decal.
+LloydNB 212 Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) Thanks guys. v. Deutschmark - I know how to do it, but I couldn't work out what name was used for the ailerons. And there are sets on both top an bottom wings so it wasn't as simple as "Aileron_L" and Aileron_R". Capun - That's the ticket. I knew there was a simple answer - look in the OUT file. I tried the names used in the data.ini and a half dozen other combinations. Given the damage model that these WWI aircraft use, this is going to be a common issue for skinners. Large roundals are probably going to spread over 3 or even 4 meshes. Perhaps the modders could give some thought to listing the mesh names in the Readme files? +LloydNB 212 Posted January 25, 2007 (edited) That got it. Progress so far. I like a more weather beaten look. Has anyone tried to produce individualised wheel covers with decals? It would take some patience but it might be possible to have different patterns (eg check and stars) appear for different aircraft in a flight. +LloydNB 212 Posted January 26, 2007 (edited) To answer my own question. Yes, we can put individual pilot's symbols (eg. different coloured stars, checks etc) as decals on the wheels. Below is my first try - a star decal on the Camel's wheel. And yes, the decals does rotate when you land. You could do this for all the aircraft in a squadron or only a few (eg the senior pilots).
